Arriving in Borgo San Faustino you feel the sensation of being in a place where tranquility and peace blend with nature. The houses of the 14th century, forming the village, have been beautifully restored recreating a warm and romantic atmosphere. Inside the estate of 300 hectares of woods and meadows and streams that form a small lake, there are herds of cattle and the famous Chianina Cinta Senese pigs, the farm with crops and orchards, gardens, deer and wild boar living in total freedom in the private reserve. The Borgo San Faustino is now a Relais. Its simplicity and its surroundings infuse warmth and harmony. Everything contributes to make the stay unique and unforgettable experience: rooms carefully refined, peaceful atmosphere is elegant and quiet.

A beautiful drive into the vine and olive-covered hills above Orvieto takes you to a charming hotel where one is pampered mercilessly. At first the room appeared a little basic but as we became used to it the spaciousness and comfort became apparent. The supporting service was always excellent and the the quality of food was outstanding and beautifully presented. The menu was the same for all four days, which was disappointing. I would definitely visit again but would explore local food options if staying for more than a few days.

When we first arrived we were a bit puzzled, as the staff member who showed us to our room didn't really explain how anything worked e.g. eating at the restaurant, towels for the pool, ordering drinks. After a bit of prompting we got everything we needed, but I would say that generally the staff are not very visible here and you have to go and ask for what you want. Once you do, it is never ANY problem and they are delighted to help. e.g. serve drinks, seat you at a table outside for dinner. The towels for the pool have to be rented from the spa and this was frustrating as the only spa staff member was in a treatment for a couple of hours and therefore we couldn't reach her to get our towels. The room in the beautifully renovated farmhouse was large and nicely decorated but quite dark and had one external window with no french doors / balcony etc. Next time I would probably try and book a specific room to ensure a better view or more light. The minibar fridge did not work for some reason and never got fixed. The Relais is connected to a working farm and offers tours of the farm by appointment. Their own wine (three varieties only - red, white, sparkling) is delicious. On our second day we asked if it was possible to eat lunch down by the pool and they produced the most amazing array of antipasti for us, which we devoured with a bottle of sparkling. We ate dinner in their restaurant both nights and this was excellent (reviewed separately). Once we realised this place was quiet and laid-back and needed to be treated like a home from home, we liked it more and more and were quite reluctant to leave. The pool is lovely and has the most AMAZING view over the landscape that you can just sit and watch all day.

I came to visit Italy from the US, and a friend and I stayed here for 1 night during a road trip. The staff was extremely courteous and friendly, and the grounds were just stunning! The rooms were in little farmhouses, and were absolutely adorable. Quiet and peaceful, beams on the ceiling, and an amazing view. We had some wine and cheese by the pool before dinner, and dinner was delicious. All the staff was just lovely. I can see this would be a gorgeous setting for a wedding. I hope to come back and stay here again.

This hotel which is really not a hotel in the sense but a group of various farm houses is very comfortable and relaxing. They have their own farm and the food is very fresh. The people are very friendly. You will hear very little English spoken, which we like. This property is very family friendly. We would stay there again.

The room, the location, the pool, the garden, the views, the food, the wine,... It was everything we expected and more. If I wanted to get married in Italy, this would be the venue I'd choose. The setting is perfect for a romantic get-away or for renting the whole borgo for a wedding/party. Every night, we had the guarantee of a table in the restaurant, without booking. We staid in almost every night because the food was so incredible. Our room was small but cosy, and as far as I could tell sound-proof. The location is perfect, hidden away in the Umbrian hills but only a short drive from Orvieto. The staff is very helpful, especially when they brought us a glass of prosecco by the pool on our first day. After that, nothing could go wrong ;)

We got Married here in August 2017 and we could not praise Marco and his team enough for how they treated us and all our guests. Marco consistently went above and beyond for us all with every little touch covered. Top class hotel and we are looking forward to many anniversaries in Borgo.

We booked borgo San faustino for our wedding... it could not have been more perfect! Location and scenery are fantastic. The small area under the oaks with the fountain for the ceremony feels like coming straight out of a movie... and the view... what a view...p Buildings and rooms are very nice. Food was awesome and is pretty much all made from their own farm (which you can visit by the way). Quantities are incredible, and their white wine is just amazing when it gets so hot. Staff is just... no words for it. It felt like they would not have put more heart in their own wedding! Marco is purely fantastic. There is never a problem, only solutions, always fantastic advises. And when the DJ is gone, Marco can replace him with a stairway to heaven which could not have been more appropriate, at 5 am!!! And at 10am, Marco is back, helping for breakfast and brunch, as fresh as if he had had a 12 hour night! Marco, what is your secret?????? We made all the way from France just for this place and it was soooooo worth it. The place is also great for kids who had a terrific time. Guests loved it, all of them. We left literrally with tears in our eyes... we will come back, for our first anniversary, for the next and the next and the next... Looking for the perfect place on earth? Don t search further... Only glitch : France lost against Portugal... but who cares??

It was a splendid resort not too far from Orvietto. We were there for a wedding. The food was very good, the rooms were all different we had a 2 bedroom with a lower level. That level had a large table for hanging out. The pool was great, lots of room to roam on the property. A wonderful staff.
