This is a nice hotel, <10 minutes (uphill) walk to the centre of Ortisei; there is also a bus stop outside the hotel from where one can catch buses either up the valley to San Cristina and Selva or down the valley as far as Bolzano. My room was comfortable and the food at breakfast and dinner was consistently excellent, as was the service. The swimming pools (indoor and outdoor) were quite small and often full of noisy children – maybe the hotel could consider designating certain times of day for one or other of the pools to be “child-free”. The same children were also rather noisy in the garden throughout the aftenoon and evening, which was rather disturbing in my room and on my balcony. The soundproofing in the bedrooms was also not brilliant; one night I was kept awake by the television in the next door room until after 2.00am.…
We stayed at the Luna Mondschein hotel during a ski holiday in February 2020 and had a really great stay. The hotel offers extras above and beyond what you'd normally expect, such as a free shuttle to and from the ski lift (available to drop you off and collect you on demand) and cakes from 4pm in the bar area. There was a secure ski and boot room to keep equipment in overnight and during the day. Everything is clean and tidy and all staff are extremely friendly and helpful. WiFi was available and worked throughout the hotel with no interruptions. Rooms were spacious and comfortable with everything you need, although there could have been a greater selection of English-spoken tv channels (with just BBC News to watch). There was a wide range of food available for breakfast and the 3 course dinners every evening were really tasty, with options from different regions and countries (French/Italian/Austrian etc.). I would definitely recommend staying here.…
We were greeted with afternoon tea and the statement “Welcome to heaven”. Hotel Luna certainly lived up to that introduction. Excellently located close to the Dolomites, breathtaking day trips were possible every day to different locations. Stayed about 6 days and there was plenty to see and do in the surrounding areas. We opted for the “half pension” when booking and the 4 course meals of an evening were of a high standard, featuring local fare and produce, something to look forward to at the end of a busy day.Breakfasts was fabulous, juice machine to make your juice, excellent selections of savoury and sweet dishes. Pastries were of a high standard especially the apple strudel! Room and bed were very comfortable.Staff were ever helpful, and friendly. Lounge room had a warm fire of an evening. Hotel has all facilities from Beauty Salon, to sauna, uncover locked garage. Even a resident Golden Retriever ! Would definitely recommend Hotel Luna, a pleasurable experience. …
The hotel is not far from the city center, walking distance but uphill. The room is nice & clean. They has the garage which you can park the van but the entrance is quite steep slope. The room has the Mountain View & staffs are really nice. We had chance to get some drink at the bar and the bartender is really friendly, she guided us the good places to visit in the area.
Luna Mondschein is a very confortable and well kept hotel. Located 10 minutes walk from Ortisei City Center, which is not an issue. We had a 3 nights stay there. Our Deluxe room on high floor had a terrasse with a great large view on the splendid mountains. A large parking underground the hotel makes life easy...! Breakfast is of an outstanding quality, large buffet with great selected products, local Italian hams and cheeses, home made tasty FRESH pastries " What a difference with industrial defrosted pastries usually served in hotels..!!.." Honey is presented on a radius from the beehive... Elegant and DELICIOUS ...! Waiters at breakfast are welcoming and professionals. Reception Desk is smily and ready to assit. The room's keeper did a fine job every day NOTE : The man taking care of the luggages is : Rude Unfriendly Impatient Nervous Not a good point for the hotel to employ such an unpleasant man .…
