This is supposedly the oldest hotel in Montepulciano and is located in the lower part of town near the main gate. Rooms are clean with a comfortable bed and good AC. As others have noted there are a lot of steps - one flight to get to reception and two more to get to our room. BUT once we got... More

The hotel was great! After our room was on the last floor, and the long walk was worth it because we had a balcony with excellent view.the location is perfect and there's a private parking so people who come with car can park in front of the hotel.

We decided to use this as a stop over on our round trip to Greece. We were not disappointed. The room was spotlessly clean, and breakfast was absolutely superb, all home prepared. Very good preserves - hopefully next time there will be 'Crab Apple' jelly, from their trees in the garden. The house is set in it's own grounds, beautifully... More

I was sad we were only able to stay one day at this lovely and interesting hotel. I wish we had planned differently. The hotel is in the center of Montepulciano. It was difficult to find even with a GPS because the street sign indicated (to us at least) that cars weren't permitted. After circling the city several times, we... More

We spent a week there and are very happy with our choice. Stunning building and interiors (furniture from XIX century), clean with a balcony overlooking Tuscan hills. Friendly staff. Air condition working well. One and only problem was breakfast. Always the same and not very tasty.

We walked into the hotel without any reservation during peak summer. The staff were very friendly and gave us a room with a huge balcony and view. The shower was actually amazing! The room also included a parking space which was handy. The breakfast was a very nice continental spread. This was the perfect place to stay on our impromptu... More

This was our third time to this hotel in as many years and its very comfortable, clean, and inviting. This is small family run property and if you are looking for a great location and a great Tuscan view from your balcony, this is the place. Great value for money as well.

What Albergo Il Marzocco lacks in luxury, it makes up in service. It's a family owned hotel, and they are the kindest, most hardworking people. We had a group of 18, and they went to great lengths to ensure our comfort. Some people complained about the hardness of the beds. The mattress was fine for me, but I will agree... More

What a great hotel.. A real throw back to the roaring 20's....very high ceilings and plastered walls, elegant antique furniture in the common areas. Terrazzo floor and stairs, but the stairs to the 3rd floor (where our room was located) were white marble!! Very spacious rooms, clean and comfortable. We had a room for 3 overlooking the Piazza and we... More

Stayed here recently and loved the hotel. So many good points - wonderful staff, excellent breakfast, on site parking, reliable wifi, great location, good price. All combined to make it a great stay. BUT - we had the worst bed we have ever slept on in a hotel. If booked here - try the bed before accepting any room. Foam... More
