I have just returned from a week's holiday in the Belvedere Hotel. It's location is superb; just 3 min walk from the funicular to Montecatini Alto (an absolutely 'must see' destination), 5 min walk from a glorious spa and just over 10 minutes from the town centre of Montecatini. The hotel is surrounded by trees and is opposite a park;... More

Lovely big rooms. Comfortable. Staff friendly and smiley. All the staff helpful. The place is clean and pleasant to stay in. Food ..... Well more than enough and an excellent variety. We did come back feeling that we did not want to eat pasta for while, but what was served was tasty. Oh, and you can get a good cup... More

Had a week here with Newmarket holidays. Room was OK and cleaned very well each day, air con worked well. Reception staff could have been friendlier but restaurant staff were good, considering the limitations that they were working with. Who serves from a trolley any more? It meant that the last table to be served had a cold meal instead... More

We stayed here for a week earlier this month, on a Newmarket Holiday tour. We liked the hotel very much and compared to The Adua Hotel, which is in the town Centre, we thought ours was the nicer hotel. Our bedroom (207) was on the second floor, lifts available to all floors, and we had a corner room with two... More

There's a lot of promise here-- the grand, old building, the leafy surroundings, and the moderate prices. However, much more needs to be done to assure this hotel's full promise. For example, it supposedly offers free wifi, air conditioning, and television. None of these items worked in our room for the duration of the stay (the wifi was patchy throughout... More

Very good facilities and food for a 3-star. Bedrooms a little on small side (no armchair, for example), but ours, with balcony and jacuzzi jets in bath, was otherwise fine. Excellent public rooms, with usual fine Italian desigh flair. When we were there (May) the pool was closed, and wifi signal in rooms mostly poor. Evening meals were excellent and... More

Stayed at the Belvedere in May 2016 when taking the Tuscany tour with Newmarket Holidays. The hotel was clean and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel, while a little dated, was clean and comfortable. Our room, as experienced by previous contributors, was on the small side (cat swinging was a no-no) but it was clean and comfortable and... Montecatini was so much better than we thought it could possibly be - in fact we were quite blown-away to see so many magnificent buildings built within such a small town. Montecatini Alto, is definitely a must, but prices for meals can be quite expensive here. The funicular is reasonably priced ( about 6 euros each return) and is well... More

We stayed there for a week as part of an organised tour. It's in a great location, quiet and right by the main park with spas & nice walks and also a short walk into the town centre. It's also a short walk to the the funicular up to Montecatini Alto with beautiful views. The hotel has some nice art... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Placed in the green zone of Montecatini Terme, a very beautiful town, just like the valley where it is: the Valdinievole, in antiquity defined Light Valley of the Clouds. Florence, Pisa, Forte dei Marmi attainable in 40 minutes; Pistoia, Lucca and Collodi - the birthplace of Pinocchio - in 20 minutes. The railway station and the highway are 2 km far. The funicular to Montecatini Alta, historical center on a half-moon hill, is next to the hotel. In 5 minutes afoot, the streets of the shopping and the celebrated thermal baths can be easily reached. We offer free and safe parking. The hotel has great spaces, fit for reading; the restaurant is particularly accurate with a refined gastronomy. The rooms ( ECONOMY, COMFORT, SUPERIOR and SUITES) are ample, characterized by comforts and bright atmosphere for a simple and functional stay. We welcome the single traveler or the couple; we are the ideal accommodation for the one who travels with friends or with his/her family ... more   less
