This was part of a Cosmos tour in Italy. This hotel is old and basic. Room was small with limited space to move around. The bathroom, especially the shower is very tiny. The towels were on the small side. Staff was very pleasant and extremely helpful with directions. The bar is available on a limited basis. No restaurant. It was... More

We went into our room, and it smelt like an ashtray. I asked the man at reception whether we could change rooms, and his rude comment was "it is a non-smoking room". He then stated that they were full. Other people in our party had faulty air-conditioning. There was mould in the shower. The town is lovely, and the hotel... More

Spend two hot, humid and miserable days here! Too bad the poor air conditioning ruined our stay as the place is lovely. The AC needs a fan and why do they turn it off (it is controlled at the front desk) during the night and do not turn it back on until Noon?? You shower in the morning and you... More

Beautifully filled with old world charm and in a great location. It is easy to travel to Florence and local cities as well as to explore the town of Montecatini. The breakfast and staff are warm and accommodating and go our of their way to make you feel at home. Breakfast is great--the perfectly fresh tomatoes are the best! The... More

First impresion of the hotel was stunning reception. It looks like a scene from television series about Poirot. Everything is classy in style like was from the begging of 1900's. There is beautiful old elevator (in function) dating from that year (1900th). But when we got in a room, it was not as classy as the reception. Average room, very... More

This hotel shows her age from the funky, creaking elevator to the faded carpets and fabrics. The bathroom, especially the shower is very tiny. I can't imagine a large person fitting into the shower in our room. The beds are extremely utilitarian but serviceable. The towels were on the small side. Two very tiny "bars" of soap were provided for... More

We were surprised that out tour chose such a lovely old hotel. It was loaded with antiques and art work and just wonderful. Built in 1890 as a private residence and then converted into a hotel; just charming!!! Breakfast buffet was delicious too. Location was just a few streets from the bustle of the town and we found a cute... More

The staff at this hotel is excellent -- everyone was friendly, kind and helpful. On the "upside", we had plenty of hot water for showers, and our room was very clean. The hotel is in a good location and has free (but very cramped) parking. However, the negatives outweighed the "pluses". The hotel must have paper-thin walls, because we heard... More

Great staff, the rooms are funky and antiques are everywhere. Our room had a kingsize bed and two singles. There is no restaurant, but the breakfast served each morning was good and coffee incredible.
