We stayed here for seven nights with a tour group. The public areas of the hotel are lovely, service from the folks behind the desk fine, and the two elevators actually work rather well, something of a rarity in Italy. Our main problems were with the food that we had in the restaurant, which was uninspired, and slow service cleaning our room. If we were not part of a group, we would look elsewhere for a hotel if we were to return to Montecatini Terme.
Our group was fortunate too spend seven nights in this lovely hotel. We were on the fifth floor and had a very nice room with french doors that opened out to the town. If you shudder at being across from an abandoned hotel with a disgusting sludge in a swimming pool, ask not to have that view. The biggest problem is no coffee in the room or available anywhere until breakfast opens and no iron. Also the pillows are rocks. The bathroom was very nice and oddly had nice linen hand towels - I hated to mess them up. The staff throughout the hotel is amazing. The breakfast buffet was outstanding, the service superb and the food in the evening was truly awesome. The sitting areas are elegant and refined. The bar area is amazing and lots of fun with a good selection of local wines.
We stayed here recently as part of a group holiday. First the good. The location is very central, the lounge is large and comfortable, the small pool area is well supplied with seats and the staff are helpful. Now the bad. The hotel website talks about providing vegan, vegetarian and gluten free diets. I'm both vegetarian and gluten intolerant. The gluten free bread and pastries I was offered were extremely poor quality packaged products, not made there. I like aubergines, courgettes, peppers and cheese, which was just as well as that was what I had over and over again. No risotto, no interesting bean dishes, no egg dishes, no capanata, no arancini. A salad of lettuce, a few olives and tomato, followed by soups (which were actually nice), then the aubergine and cheese offering. It was so disappointing. Then our room. We had upgraded our room, and when we saw it we checked it was the right room as although it was large it was greatly in need a a fresh coat of paint and the mismatched furniture was more second hand shop than carefully chosen eclectic.…
From the hotel itself, to the food, the staff and the comfort, Hotel Francia e Quirinale is excellent. The staff consists of very friendly people, who take pride in their work to make guests comfortable and happy. In short order all knew my preferences and and quickly responded. I'm thankful I had the opportunity to enjoy a hotel of this level.
Just had 5 nights at the hotel, Of course the rooms are lovely, the location is the best, and the breakfast is delicious. But what really makes this hotel the best in Montecatini is the staff. Martina, Fabio, Raniero, Oxana, Simona, Roberto, Giuseppe, Luigi. They are all absolutely amazing and will make your holiday really special. Thank you so much to everybody , we will of course be back again, and again, again. Ciao grazie, ci vediamo a presto. Chris xxx
