I am thinking back to our time in Sicily as I put together our picture book of our 2019 trip and as I think of Umberto's, the location, the hospitality of the hosts and the accommodations, I cannot recommend this B&B enough. We arrived late in the day and they proactively reached out to let us know there was a festival going on in town and suggest alternate routes into Milazzo. They met us at the door and helped us get situated after the drive from Catania and could not be any more helpful. Highly recommend!
We stayed for only one night as we were heading to the Aeolian Islands the next morning. We arranged for Riccardo to pick us up at Catania airport. We arrived around 9.00pm and we were shown around and then went straight out to dinner. The location is excellent in a quiet street but close to the port and restaurants and cafes. We stayed in a family room with one queen bed and two singles. Room was spacious and very clean. Bathroom was also spacious and clean. The place is decorated in a quirky and stylish way. There is a decent breakfast included in the reasonable price. Overall we recommend B&B Umberto.
I cannot say enough about this place. To make a long story short, we ended up here, which was the wrong hotel and no reservation. I needed to call my family but needed WiFi. The owner was so kind, and let us use his internet, gave us drinks and tried to help us as much as he could. Turns out my family members thought we were coming in the next day, and booked a totally different hotel, (because this one did not have reservations for the entire week). Anyway, we were stranded with no hotel, but luckily they had one here for the one night. The owner was so kind and truly made us feel like family. The room was clean and very comfortable. It is also an excellent, centralized location. They offered a light breakfast and coffee, complimentary. I would absolutely recommend this b&b to anyone and will stay again the next time I’m in town!…
House was perfectly clean, room was large and host was helpful. Breakfast was excellent and the house centrally located near the cruise dock. Bank is next door. Cost was reasonable. Car parking abundant along street and free.
Ricardo saved us! Ferry problems left us stranded in Milazzo at midnight, and he answered a call and graciously agreed to host us on such short notice. The room was meticulously clean, spacious and welcoming. Despite a late night, he was ready to serve us breakfast at 8:30, complete with fresh-squeezed orange juice. Ricardo was exceedingly accommodating as we scrambled to salvage our trip to the aeolians, and meeting him was without a doubt the highlight of our time in Milazzo.
Just a short note to express the appreciation of the Mingrinio and Esgo families for an outstanding time we spent in REumberto B&B. Vacation of a life-time, in no small way made possible by the Inn's owner Piero. Sharing our time with you made it all the more meaningful. The accommodations were exquisite, service commendable and perfectly located in the historic district of Milazzo - - charming to say the least . We are already planning our next trip and staying in REumberto is a MUST. I can’t think of a single thing to say which would improve our customer experience, aside from spending more days with you. We never say goodbye rather a simple “until next time” always works. Sincerely, Maria, Frank, Laura, Ava, Alexa, Lou and Colleen
We stayed 1 night at this delightful B & B. The owner is a really great guy, I think his name is Ricardo and he has a lovely dog called Kuccina. He is warm and welcoming and the room is clean and comfortable. It's in an ideal spot to park the car close by and leave it there while you pop over to Volcano island for a day trip.
We spent one day in B&B Re Umberto. We rent an apartment from Re Umberto, Pietro who runs the place gave us an apartment in outstanding conditions, with everything you need, nice kitchen, laundry room, excellent bedroom, downtown, suggested restaurants, visits, got us a taxi with a great driver, and more. We love it so much that we plan to buy something similar. Carla and Saul.
We used it as a base for two trips to the Eolian Islands and it was an excellent choice. Rooms are clean, renovated and quiet (even those facing the street as those have balcony doors with double glassing). Breakfast is good and breakfast room is pleasant and clean. The host went out of its way to help us with parking, late arrival after a day out and early morning routine.
Very central. Beautiful spacious rooms. Extremely well kept. Comfortable beds. Great interior design. Very clean. Quite close to the ferry port. Milazzo has some charm and is worth a visit. Some nice restaurants around.
