Me, my mother and my aunt had a wonderful stay at Hotel O Sole Mio. It has been our second time staying there. The view from our room is breath-taking, we were able to see the gulf of napoli and mount vesuvio. We had a rental car, but within 10-20 mins walking distance, you could find good restaurants, bars, pizzeria, gelataria and shops that aid your day to day needs. I would like to give a big thank you to the concierge staffs, namely: Canadia and Veronica. They were professional, friendly, thorough and great attention to details. Their recommendations on restaurants, tours, tourist attractions, activities and local knowledges made our stay in masa lubrense extra-ordinary, we even had a feeling of being able to blend in with the locals as well. However, there's something they need to improve is the service at breakfast. Mr. Salvatore who was working there, he must have had a bad morning that day because he was kinda rude to us. But this will not make us hesitate to come again to hotel o sole mio :)

Having been to Italy many times before, we decided that we would give the Amalfi Area a go. It didnt start well with our car hire via DOYOUITALY but thats another story. The only thing that would stop me giving it a 10/10 was the "Panoramic" sea view and the basic but comfortable rooms on the first 3 floors. They were not bad rooms, just not the charm of this beautiful part of the world. We moved up to the 4th floor and whilst the views didnt imporove, the room had charm and character. Thanks to all that served us throughout our week. It would be unfair to pick out anyone in particular, but if I had to - it would be Candida on Reception. She was fantastic!! xx. If you stay here or not - but in this area, you have to eat at Da Mimis restaurant in St Aghatar (5 min walk) and Orlandos Bar.Two places not to be missed.xx

Based on the positive reviews we booked this hotel expecting so much more than what we got. The included breakfast is truly awful for a four star hotel. (Please note that this hotel should definitely not be rated a four star! It is not in the same class as a premier inn, let alone a four star hotel! For breakfast dont expect anything more than some watery scrambled eggs, cocktail stick cheap sausages and some greasy bacon. If you’re lucky some mornings there were beans but you had to be lucky! A selection of bread rolls were on offer and if you’re lucky a slice of bread but these also went quickly. They did have a small selection of cereals and yogurts and they did have nice croissants so not all bad! In regards to the view, we had a depressing view of a messy back yard and our balcony overshadowed by a loud air conditioning duct which served the whole hotel. The garden area is small, messy and mediocre at best. We did not know where it was at first, no thanks to the lack of information the hotel provided. The reviews describe a beautiful garden but it simply isn’t. The hotel room only came with three pillows on the double bed. On requesting a fourth pillow we were told “sorry, we have had a lot of requests for pillows today and we have none left”. The hotel room was clean. Decor was very basic and the bed faced the wardrobe in which had no doors, which makes you feel like the room is constantly messy. We had ants in the bathroom and frustratingly, the cleaners when changing the bedding every day, left the balcony doors open so that when you came back to your room, you were usually greeted with mosquitos. Staff were not very helpful and on ordering a taxi for a wedding on arriving at the reception area and waiting for 20 minutes talking to the person who we asked to order it, we then realised that they hadn’t actually ordered a taxi at all and forgot the whole conversation we had with them requesting one just 2 hours earlier! The hotel is a 10-15 minute stroll to the local town and buses are frequent to and from sorrento. The bus ride into sorrento lasting around 20-30 minutes. However, it can be a nightmare to get an accurate bus time on a Sunday as we found out. Tickets are purchased from a tobacco shop and to get to sorrento, you catch the bus from the bus shelter. I hope this review helps those looking at staying in the area. In summary, I would not advise anyone looking to stay at hotel o sole mio, especially for the prices they are charging. The hotel should be rated at a 3 star hotel. We moved hotel to Atlantic palace which is also a 4 star hotel and the you honestly could not compare the two hotels. Atlantic palace was a wonderful hotel and saved the holiday for us.

We booked this hotel as part of a Groupon package. The views from the room was amazing! This hotel is located up a steep/windy road in the mountains overlooking Sorrento. The staff was friendly and helpful. A small town is a short 5-10 minute walk away, where we found great local restaurants for dinner and gelato. We were able to get to both Sorrento and Positano within 30 minutes. The only negative is the onsite restaurant. It was pretty basic and we found better options for more reasonable prices in town. We would definitely stay here again!

We have just returned from a week in Sant 'Agata staying at O Sole Mio Good location a distance out of Sant' Agata at the top of quite a steep hill for (would not have wanted to do the walk more than once a day!) We had a de luxe room which was spacious, had a large shower, small balcony a view over to the Bay of Naples and was at the front of the hotel Unfortunately it didn't get much sun as it faced north and had some traffic noise We don't usually ask to change rooms but as my husband wasn't too well I asked and the staff were very understanding and we moved to room at the back The room was smaller but sunnier and faced towards the views to the town and south Staff were all very friendly and spoke good English Breakfasts and dinners were very good with 3 choices each course The garden and pool was well maintained and lovely and quiet A good choice for a quiet week in Amalfitana away from from busy coast
