My wife and I have traveled to and stayed at Taverno del Capitano many times since 1999. We've spent birthdays and anniversaries with this wonderful family run establishment. The rooms, breakfast in the patio, days on the beach under the umbrellas, lunch and dinner in the dining room with The Captain in charge, Claudio the Maitre'd and wine expert, Marielle...

We stayed only one night. It was a pity. The place deserves more time, to enjoy the beach and the views. The breakfast served at the terrace is really pure pleasure! Everything has been thought through! Highly recommended to combine an excellent dinner at the restaurant and then rest at the hotel, without using a car!

We spent three days at this hotel and our breakfast and dinners there too. It is a great location for Amalfi hikes and water trips. From there we went to Capri, Positano and Amalfi. Nearby hiking is fantastic. Hotel is very comfortable. Some rooms look right at the water and others have a side view which is fine too.Our room...

The spacious and well appointed rooms look right onto the beach and the sea. The family are all very charming and hospitable, and one feels most warmly welcome from the moment of arrival to departure. The breakfast is the best I have ever had in Italy. To eat the sweetest freshest mozzarella bi buffala with tomatoes and excellent sourdough while...

This quiet fishing village is a wonderful stop on your visit to the Amalfi area. The rooms are sea' the owner/hosts are amazingly hospitable and the owner/chef served us one of the best meals we had in Italy. It is a wonderful place if you want relaxation in a quiet, beautiful place with the option for fine dining.

Had the most wonderful meal after paying €100 to a taxi to bring us from Sorrento but worth every penny. The friendliness of the family who own it is absolutely incredible and the chef personally drove us back to the hotel. Next visit we won't stay anywhere else

Very accommodating family run hotel, great attention to detail and guest requirements. No requests unmet. Breakfast on small balcony wonderful, as is the more formal main restaurant. Main restaurant is expensive but understandable bearing in mind the level of quality and creativity. Hotel has a portion of the beach allocation, chairs etc. Water quality of beach area very good. Taverna del Capitano is a very special place. The Caputo family manages it in a very welcoming way, the atmosphere is worm, the rooms overlooking the blue sea are nice & comfortable, and the food in the restaurant is great!!! The Chef is Alfonso Caputo who is doing wonders with the excellent local ingredients: fresh fish & shrimp's, calamaris, scallops...
