I enjoyed a week long stay at Vila Rosmary in early September during the COVID-19 pandemic. The property (and apartment) was immaculate clean with beautiful views of the sea below and Mt. Vesuvius in the distance. The property was quiet (due in part to low occupancy as a result of pandemic) and relaxing with a small pool with scenic view and garden among lemon trees. Host Bruno and son Francesco were hospitable and eager to cater to every need or request from arranging massage appointments on site to grocery runs, local recommendations and endless supply of fresh fruit. (Beware that due to COVID restrictions no cooked breakfast is available only DIY breakfast items are provided). The beach is a ten-minute walk down (or up) the hill in a fishing village. Transportation to Sorrento and other Amalfi Coast towns is by local bus (every 20 min) (remember your face mask!) and although both Sorrento and Massa Lubrense are within walking distance (3-5 km), the road is not pedestrian friendly. Dining options nearby are limited to a few restaurants in the fishing village. Overall, I enjoyed my stay and highly recommend the property to couples and families (with cars!), and even solo travelers looking to relax. Grazie mille for the hospitality, Bruno!

We spent 5 nights here and we were not disappointed. Firstly the location was great , close to Marina Di Puolo and it’s restaurants/beach (8mins down 15 back!) but the accommodation itself was so tranquil and relaxing, with a nice but compact pool . We hired a car- it needs to be quite small to navigate the tight Italian roads , the entrance to Villa Rosemary amplifying this. The drive to Ravello and Pompeii is about 1 Hour , Sorrento 10-15 mins. The views across the gulf of Naples were stunning. The apartment we had was “Ischia”, we have two children the youngest slept in one bedroom up a spiral staircase, eldest slept on the sofa bed in the living area and we had our own on suite. The a/c worked well and there was breakfast /coffee in the room in the morning although we supplemented this with extras, there is a full kitchen. Accommodation was very clean. Beds very firm which some in the family liked, there was also a small balcony which was very useful- especially for drying our swimwear. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here it was perfect and really relaxing..... Finally a thank you to the host Bruno and his family who were very helpful without being intrusive. Perfect.

I have recently spent a short holiday at Villa Rosmary and already decided to get back there next year. It's just a little oasis of peace surrounded by olive and lemon trees with the spectacular views on the sea and Vesuvius Its cosy atmosphere makes the place unique and its owners make you feel at home. So I say: thanks and see you again:)

We loved our stay here. Francesco met us after we caught the bus into Sorrento. The offer was always there to assist with getting groceries and we were made to feel very welcome. We caught the bus into Sorrento one day and did some shopping and caught the bus back with no problems. Yes the walk up to the road is steep- however all of the tracks on this coastline are steep. We loved the beach at the bottom of the zigzag path from the Villa. We spent a few days down there and loved the restaurants and facilities. Bruno was lovely and helpful. We booked an Amalfi car tour through Bruno, and had a great day checking out the coastline. We absolutely would recommend staying here and feel that we will be back one day. We were lucky enough to have some of Bruno's Limoncella and it was fantastic!

An Italian dream...Lemon trees, olive trees and figs as far as they eye can see. A beautiful and peaceful hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Sorrento. Bruno and his family were beyond wonderful and helpful to us. I recommend arranging airport transportation with Bruno. It was better to be picked up with private transportation, after a long flight and given a tour and travel tips along with a stop at the market to pick up some groceries for the room. The accommodations were perfect for 3 women that include 2 bedrooms, bathrooms and a pull out couch. There was plenty of space and it was cool, clean and comfortable, perfect to return to after a long day of exploring. There is also a relaxing pool and garden with an amazing view that we took advantage of daily. The residence is a 10 minute walk down hill to a small fishing village Marina di Puolo, that had amazing restaurants and a beach. We ate at Capuozzo L'Angolo del Mare almost every evening. The fresh seafood was amazing and so were the prices! We had wonderful service from Giseppe and the staff. No matter where we ate on the Amalfi Coast, nothing compared to this amazing little restaurant on the beach. If you are looking for a quite and relaxing day, take advantage of the beach here. There are chairs and umbrellas for rent, as well as drinks, food and bathrooms within arms reach. And a lot of local charm to get the full experience! There is a bus stop at the top of the hill that will take you to Sorrento and some other small towns in the area. You will need to have bus tickets that you can buy at any tobacco shop. There is another bus in Sorrento you can take back that will take Euro instead of tickets. When you are returning from Sorrento to the residence at night, look for the Best Western sign. After you pass the sign ask for a stop and they will take you to the top of the hill. For day trips/boat trips to Capri, Positano or anywhere else along the Amalfi coast, you can arrange with Bruno. You can also take the bus into Sorrento and take a tour bus or the ferry. I would recommend staying overnight in Positanno if you want to explore Amalfi and Ravello. If you venture to Positano, take a break from the tourist attractions and go to Bar Pupetto. It is on a quiet beach and overlooks the water. The owner is an absolute character that will push his tasty desserts on you because, "you want this, they are the best...of course". Sorrento, Capri and Positano offer a lot of shopping and places to eat. Both will be a little crowded and have more nightlife to offer. I preferred visiting and returning to our little peaceful lemon oasis. It was an amazing trip and I do not usually go to the same place twice, but for Villa Rosmary I would make an acceptation. Thank you again for such a wonderful experience! Top 10 Tips 1. Make sure you have Euro, that is the currency that was widely accepted. You can use credit cards at most places, you will need Euro for bus tickets, etc. 2. Wear comfortable shoes! It is all uphill or downhill but a great opportunity to get into shape for sure! 3. Some of the pubic restrooms do not have toilet seats...so be prepared for that! 4. Learn Italian or at least the basics! 5. Bring a flashlight or make sure you have your cell phone on you. There is minimal lighting on the paths to and from the beach or bus stop at night. This is could also be an excellent time to practice your night vision. 6. There are two buses, the SITA and META use these instead of a taxi they are very inexpensive and come every 30 minutes anywhere. The ferry is also an option is you are going along the coast. 7. If you get car sick do not take the bus to Positanno or Amalfi. The roads are small and winding not a good combination it is 30 minutes of hell, take the ferry! If you get sea sick...take the bus. 8. House wine at any restaurant is between 3-5 Euro and is delicious. Do not bother buying anything else for the duration of the trip, excluding of course limoncello. 9. Take as many boat trips where you can swim, the water is amazing. It is also very salty so bring lots lotion! 10. EAT and EAT some more there are no regrets, you will walk it off! Be prepared to go through food withdrawals when you get home..... Enjoy!
