The three star hotel Piccolo Paradiso, is a delightful hotel which has always been managed by its owners. Elegant and comfortable, it lies in a marvellous position between the countryside and the sea in one of the most beautiful parts of the Sorrento Peninsula.

Spotlessly clean but dated. Food was lower quality than expected and hardly any choice. Service was slow but very friendly. Lack of advice on how to get to places was annoying can could of cost us missing a trip. The location is very hilly so only go if you don’t mind steep hills and walking! Wouldn’t stay again because of lack of places to walk too.

Response from FRANCESCA CACACE, Altro at Hotel Piccolo Paradiso

We are sorry to hear about your disappointment with us. We appreciate your feedback as it helps us identify the areas we can improve the guest experience. We are very sorry to learn that you didn’t appreciate our cooking: half board menu offers a different choice of dishes to better meet customers' needs and we also have an a-la-carte menu. Our cuisine is based on a mixture of tradition and innovations. About tourist information, we used to have a lot of flyer but in compliance with the Anti-Covid regulations, we could not expose nothing but we are always glad to give our guest all the information they need. About the location is not exactly hilly, actually our hotel is about thirty meters above sea level. The bus stop is just outside the hotel and you don’t have necessarily walk to reach others places. Best Regards Francesca Cacace

Great hotel with friendly staff, good food, lovely terrace overlooking the bay, pool area with plenty of loungers, spotlessly clean, very reasonably priced bar, stone's throw away from Marina Lobra. What's not to like? Apparently some didn't. But they probably wouldn't have appreciated the simple beauty to be found in this unspoilt area. So no, it's not a flash hotel, but it is a little paradise. Oh and the sister hotel across the road with access to the marina has a very cheeky and adorable ginger cat. Be prepared to share your sun lounger!

When we arrived it was late. The woman on reception was abrupt with us just tokd us where room was. When we got in room it was like a oven ,went back to reception asked about aircon the reply was " yes it warm in there 46euros if you want air con." Which we had to pay. Next morning when we looked round room we were very disappointed. The cooking facilities were ontop of the sick with electric wires passing behind the taps not very safe. No cooking utensil no toaster found out end of holiday you could hire one. Information pack telling you about what you could hire would have been useful. Pool staff charged different prices for drinks. Dirty showering facilities. The only good thing was the view and sea. But the price we payed and the wait because of covid overall we were very disappointed.

Dear Sirs, we don’t have cooking facilities in the rooms, as well air conditioning is included in the price and both the night porters are men, of course you wrote your review in the wrong page. Best Regards Francesca Cacace

Thank you so much for your review, we really appreciate you taking the time out to share your experience with us. We really appreciate to hear about our great staff and the view from the room. We are very sorry to learn that you didn’t appreciate our cooking: half board and full board menu offers a different choice of dishes to better meet customers' needs and we also have an a-la-carte menu. Our cuisine is based on a mixture of tradition and innovations and every dish is prepared with passion and great attention. About breakfast we served a continental buffet with sweet and savoury choices: croissant, homemade jam tarts, cakes, yogurt, cornflakes, muesli, marmalade, bread, cheese, salami and ham, eggs are served on request. About the pool, it closes two hours during the day not just to clean it but also to guarantee a good rest to the guests that have rooms pool side, anyway just the pool close while the solarium remains open for all the day until 19.00 o’clock. We look forward to hosting you again. Best Regard Francesca Cacace

Had a wonderful stay at Hotel Piccolo Paradiso. Our room, number 313, was great, it looked out over the pool area and had a little balcony. It was cleaned everyday with fresh towels by the friendly clean team. The food was amazing! And the waiters excellent. I have a nut allergy and they remembered this without any reminders the ehole time. Reception were also good and helped us book an excursion to Pompeii. It's located in a stunning, but very hilly area so definitely need a car or trips booked to get around, however we were more than happy to walk down to the sea front. Angelo's bar is a must! The staff were wonder as was the view and the food! Overall, a really lovely four days here.

My wife and I had a wonderful holiday in this lovely hotel in May 2022. Our room no. 202 had a splendid sea view and was spotlessly clean.. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The meals and wine were of a very high quality. The wine was very reasonably priced. We enjoyed our daily strolls to the Marina della Lobra. Many thanks to all. Look forward to seeing you in the near future.

What I like about the hotel is the friendly staff. As a family owned 3 star hotel don’t expect opulence or even the drab uniformity of a mass market chain. I’d paid for a single room but was happy to pay the small supplement for an incredible view and a roof terrace. Dinner rush as mixed with fantastic pasta dishes and some more eclectic menu options. More Italian food please. There was a nice bit of fish but it would have benefitted from a nice bean and tomato salad to accompany it. The rooms were clean and fresh and the pool was well maintained Yes the water was bracing but once in it was lovely. If you go please enjoy the uniqueness of this hotel and it’s wonderful staff!

Via the Jet2Holidays I’ve stayed in Picolo Paradiso for one week in May 2022 with the HB option. I was a single traveller. Let’s start with the positive notes first: - staff is incredibly friendly, polite and helpful. They will answer all your questions and queries very quickly and with a huge smile on their faces - the rooms are comfortable - there is a wide range of meals you can choose from for the dinner and everything I tried during my stay was well cooked and overall delicious, just be aware that the portions are absolutely huge and for me having a starter, main and a dessert this size was impossible to fit in so I requested to be served half portions which was ideal - the views from the dining room balcony and rooftop swimming pool are stunning and you can see most of the seaside directly from the hotel - just a few minutes away there are multiple restaurants, port and promenade and right in front of the hotel entrance there is a bus stop from which you can take a trip to Massa Lubrense town centre (there is also an option to walk there which takes about 30 minutes but it’s up the hill and involves a lot of stairs you’d need to climb) - there is free WIFI throughout the hotel - the hotel provides you with a wide range of excursions you can book directly at the reception Now for the negative notes: - the rooms provided do not match the photos available on the Jet2Holidays website or the hotel website. Now, I’m not sure if it’s because I was a single traveller and I received the “single room” which there are no photos of anywhere or if the photos available online are only of the few chosen rooms that you need to pay extra for but my room did not look like the one I thought I purchased. The main issue with the look of the room was the lack of the balcony and only one small window but also the outdated furniture and the lack of decor which is visible on the photos online. When I was speaking with the receptionist I was advised the rooms with the balcony are €15 extra per day which unfortunately I couldn’t afford. Also I’m not sure where the photos of the seaside loungers were taken but the hotel is NOT located by the sea, it’s by the main road and there are other hotels in between the sea and Picolo Paradiso. Not a massive issue but I think this should be clearly stated to know what you’re paying for ahead of time. - second issue I’ve had was the initial room I was given which was incredibly dirty. The bathroom had hair in the amenities, the shower doors were still covered in shower gel and shampoo, the floor tiles were badly cracked, the bed covers had some white marks on them and the worst of all was the window which was initially closed with a shutter but after lifting it the glass was so dirty I could not see outside at all. After speaking with the receptionist I was offered a different room without any issues, the second room was much cleaner but still not spotless but I just didn’t want to be that person who’s constantly complaining and annoying everybody so I just settled with it - now this is not as much of a hotel issue as it is a destination issue. The beach is made of huge rocks, not even pebbles but huge rocks that if you’re brave like the locals you can try to climb and sit on but there is no way of getting into the sea for a swim for sure. If you walk down the promenade for about 30-40 minutes you will get to the very small part with pebbles where you can access the sea but again, not really a good place if you’re looking to go for a dip in the sea. Secondly the hotel is located in Marina Della Lobra rather than Massa Lubrense and due to it being only a tiny fishing village you might come across some serious issues with finding things to do. There are a few restaurants in the port and one tiny shop selling overpriced items and that’s about it. If you need to go for some more serious food or toiletries shopping you have to pop to the Massa Lubrense which like I mentioned is about 30 minutes up the hill or a few minutes by bus. - also I don’t know if there is anything that can humanly be done about this but the water in the swimming pool is absolutely freezing, ice cold. I thought it is just my personal experience at first but after speaking with other guests they also confirmed the swimming pool is just painfully cold and throughout the stay I didn’t see many people using it - the hotel could do with a few upgrades as well - a little pool side bar would be lovely as for now you have to constantly ask the staff to bring you drinks from the restaurant which is not the most efficient, some paint work in the rooms, change of broken tiles and some more modern furniture would do great as well - the breakfast was very tasty but strictly continental - every morning the exact same items (cereals, ham, cheese, salami, bread and buns, tangerines, a pie and some croissants), not a bad thing cause like I said it was fresh and tasty but it would be nice to get some diversity on a daily basis like for example some mozzarella, other fruits, baked goods etc from time to time as it gets really boring eating the exact same stuff everyday Altogether the hotel is a pleasant little place ideal for elderly people looking to stay and relax but not the best for younger people looking for some activities and entertainment. Will definitely come back to the area but will most likely stay in Sorrento this time as it’s much more interesting.

Response from FRANCESCA CACACE, Altro at Hotel Piccolo Paradiso

We thank you for having taken so many time to give us an evaluation of your stay. About the tipology of the room you can choose the standard one and the superior, the first one is a room with window, the second one is a room with balcony, for the singles rooms balcony is only on request. About the cleanliness of the rooms, our chambermaid usually pay much attention to it and we are sorry for the found oversight issues, anyway for the next time I suggest you to talk about any doubt with the reception staff during your stay so we can help you to solve any problems. About the beach when you stayed at the hotel our solarium was closed and that the reason why you didn’t find a way of getting into the sea, usually there is a pool ladder to get softly into the water. Anyway to reach San Montano beach (the beach with pebbles you mentioned), you just need 10 minute not 40 as you writed. About the destination, 5 minutes walk from the Hotel, there is the fishing village of Marina della Lobra with its typical atmosphere and the beauty of surrounding nature, there you can find some restaurants and bars. I really don’t understand why you affirm that to have “more serious food”, you have to go somewhere else when restaurants of the area, are well known and people have to book days before to be able to find a table there. The water in the swimming pool was freezing because of the weather, at the begin of may the temperature is not so warm, with the arrival of the sunny days water gets warm naturally; our pool has not yet a bar but you can ask for a drink or anything else to the pool lifeguard that will pass your orders to the bartender. Our breakfast is a continental buffet with sweet and savoury choices: yogurt, muesli, cornflakes, marmalade, croissant, homemade jam tarts, cakes, bread, cheese, salami and ham, eggs are served on request, everything is served every day and we prefer offer a wide choice rather than few things always different. We are glad you enjoyed anyway your stay with us and that you find our location the ideal place to relax.

What a lovely friendly hotel, the staff were all very helpful. so much so when we couldn't get on the excursion to Capri the lady behind reception contacted a family friend with a boat for hire who took us as a private charter and it was great. The food was excellent with nice variety and all lovely and fresh. The pool was cool when we visited but still refreshing. The rooms were very comfortable. Would love to return.
