Our small hotel is a traditional alpine lodge in the mountains of Limonetto, Maritime Alps, located at 1500 mts. a. s. l. directly on the Italian/French border; it's managed by family Merolt since 2003. It has a restaurant where you have breakfast and enjoy dinner in front of the fireplace, a big solar terrace, 3 double rooms and a three-beds room (mini-suite) equipped with shower, toilet, telephone, WI-FI. The hut has been completely rebuilt in 2003 using stone, wood, lime and iron, mixing tradition and modernity, respecting the typical local architecture. It's a small relaxing corner, a well kept hidden secret for your holiday with steam room (Turkish bath), aroma and music therapy. In winter, access is by ski down the slopes of Limonetto or with the snowmobile service, while in summer the hotel can be reached by trekking trails or 4WD road. In Limonetto: convenience store and ATM.

Great experience at the Arrucador - Walter and Anja are very welcoming and it was great to hike in the valleys around Limonetto. You better choose for long walks as dinner at the Arrucador is delicious and generous size-wise (4 courses!). There are some nice walks in the immediate neighborhood and plenty of possibilities for longer or multi-day hikes around: GTA, Parco Alpi Maritimi, Parco del Marguareis and/or the newly created Grande Traversata dei Alpi Maritimi. Rooms are super comfortable and the ones with private terraces have amazing views on the surrounding fields and mountains. A super comfortable stay in between sporty hikes ;) ! Just one thing, the lodge is to be reached through a dirt road - it's in a good state and most cars should be able to do it, but not sporty/low-rise cars.

If you are skiing in Limone I can strongly recommend the Arrucador restaurang in the middle of a sloop. You can't have a better lunch in Limone ski-resort with such a friendly atmosphere and great food. Just Go there and enjoy

Lovely traditional chalet restaurant guesthouse with ski in ski out location in a wide valley close to Limone 1400. Tried to stay a few times but booked up at weekends well in advance. Good well prepared Italian food, including stews, soups and local cheeses. Will return and definitely recommend.

Passing over Arrucador on the lift earlier in the day while skiing Limonetto, visiting this place was a box I knew I had to check before leaving Linone. After skiing the rest of the day with my friends, I split off on my own and managed to make it back just a minute or two after the kitchen had closed. I was greated with a touch of suspicion as I came through the door, and quickly informed that Arrucador was only a restaurant and not a bar or place to have a coffee. Good thing I had not eaten. Once it was clear I was there to have a meal, I was promptly seated at a table in the sun on their patio. Despite the kitchen officially closing a few minutes before my arrival, I was not rushed. I was handed a menu which listed the options in Italian and English, and had a robust list of local wines. My meal was served promptly, and I was able to order a glass of wine from a large selection of the wines on the list. Despite being a slow eater, I was never rushed through the meal. In fact, the hostess came out at one point and offered to reheat my stew as she feared that is must have become cold with me seated outdoors. When the sun tucked behind the mountains and the temperature dropped, I was offered a table inside. I declined the table, but finished my glass of wine and a coffee inside on the couches by the fire. It is a lovely setting, and the service could not have been nicer. I quickly appreciated my initial greating, as another set of skiers arrived promptly after I did, took a table without asking, and started to order drinks and coffee without any intent to have a meal. As it is a intimate location, which also hosts overnight guests, I appreciate the effort to limit the dining clientele to those eating rather than encouraging an apres ski crown which would significantly detract from the experience of the boarding guests (although the setting is perfect for that).

We loved this place: tiny chalet, 4 rooms (tiny too but decorated with care and with their own bathrooms), nice view, good dinner, the whole thing created and managed by a lovely couple. A unique experience.
