My wife and I been to Lignano many times, this time we treated ourselves with a stay in this nice hotel. It is of course not the cheapest but for the standard it provides I do find it not that expensive. There is not much to say except we had a great time and were fully satisfied. The breakfast alone (not always good in italy) is a treat, even in winter you can stay here (Sauna and Jacuzzi).

I would like to share my recent experience with accommodation in the Hotel Italia Palace Lignano which is really unforgettable and unfortunately not very positive one. We have used to visit Lignano for many years, we wanted to spend this summer in this destination as it is kind of family tradition. Plus we wanted to make the end of the summer 2019 more pleasant and enjoyable for our two children and us as well as parents. Therefore, we decided to book this hotel. The hotel looks really luxurious from the outside, which is confirmed by the overall equipment of the hotel. During the peak of summer season all of the hotels are mostly busy, therefore we booked it in advance via booking.com – our reservation no. 3719054117 – I ordered and paid for FAMILY SUITE, for two adults and two children. On the day of arrival, everything seemed to be all right and the initial impression would only confirm our satisfaction. However, we have faced several unpleasant surprises. The fact is that, this hotel is absolutely not suitable for families with children – even though it is possible to buy accommodation for children directly at the time of booking. It is only my experience that hotels guests had hateful look at the children who were little bit cheerful in a pool. Therefore, I would really recommended to the hotel management to target the audience at least above 40 years old. However, not even this experience did not discourage us to continue with our vacation. The next day we planned a boat trip to closest island. We had already paid for this trip and the departure was at 11.00 am. On the same day at 10.45 am we had been contacted from the reception that it is necessary to leave our room. They told us there is an issue with a water – of course, we did not notice any trouble with it at all. That's why, I tried to explain to receptionist that everything in our room is okay and I refused to leave our room as we paid full price for it. I also mentioned that we need to leave for our trip and we can sort this out once we will be back. After our arrival to hotel, we were unpleasant surprised. The room cards were blocked. We could not get into the room. They apologized to us at the reception with saying that all of the hotel cards were re-chipped and it is just misunderstand. One hour later, we were able to get back to our room. After a while we heard a strong noise, someone was kicking at the door. There was very angry gentleman from Germany. He was shouting at us that this room is his, we should pack all our things and leave. It was not accepted such a behavior to kick us out from the room that was already paid. This gentleman was furiously screaming, therefore I decided to go to the reception to kindly explain the whole situation. However, they were not very helpful to help at all. They were silent. The gentleman’s shooting might be heard by all the guest passing through our room and later at the reception desk. The sad side of it is that the employees of this hotel did not care to solve this incident. Now I got it and understood the information from the morning where we were asked to leave the room because of the water. And someone just needed to be accommodated in our room. I consider this act as highly unprofessional and unacceptable to sell one room twice. It is lack of business ethical and morality. However, what is more surprising is that the hotel stuff was unwilling to take any action. For us, it was absolutely non acceptable to move to different room according to which of that gentleman. As they tried to move us in the morning where they lied about the water. I also run my own business, however this kind of behavior is not welcome and not even acceptable. I would advise to the hotel to think about that happened there and to consider consequences. After this situation, I did not have mood and power to stay there. We packed all our staff and we left the hotel that day, of course without any apologizes or excuses. On the other hand, gentleman achieved what he wanted. In this case, my wife and my 2 kids were more important than anything else. I did not want to listen any insults and accusation anymore. My 2 kids could see the whole scenario and I just did not want to continue with it. All over, we could manage to stay in this hotel for 2 days. Now we know that we will never visit this hotel again. We wanted to share this negative experience and ending summer vacation 2019. Even, if something looks pretty nice outside, it does not mean that the employees will act accordingly.…

If you do not want to totally destroy your vacation, please avoid this hotel. Totally unprofessional-ism of employees. After 2 days of staying in this hotel which we had of course fully paid, they tried to get us out of our room by lying that there is an issue with water. However, they sold our room twice to another client who wanted us to leave the room. I considered to deal this situation with police. The employees of hotel was totally unhelpful and did not care or even solve the entire problem by ignorance and no apology at all from their side. This hotel does not know how to serve to clients and offer appropriate service. Never again!

We travel a lot around the world, but what happened at this hotel in the end of the summer is really disaster ! We wanted to make a short stop and visit our friends at this hotel, when we found out that despite of paying for their stay in advance, the hotel staff threw them out on the street just because they needed to sell the room where they have been accommodated for two days to the “VIP” guest from Germany who forcibly entered with the help of the hotel staff to my friend's and his family's room and tried to throw them out of the room with rude insults … The hotel staff did nothing at all to protect them and so they finally decided not to stay in this hotel any longer and they ended their vacation earlier and went back home in disgust. Sometimes even 5 stars is not enough to guarantee a beautiful holiday and a decent conduct of the staff .. After this I know I NEVER stay here as I wouldn't like to be in danger of a similar story! …

We have spent 3 nights here and honestly didn‘t find anything to complain about. Nice, clean, light and spacious rooms, comfortable beds, amazing breakfast, very friendly staff and great organisation! Pool and bar are on the roof, so you can swim or have an aperitivo with a view. And - two sundbeds and an umbrella at the Beach are included. An absolute recommandation. We will absolutely come back!

My wife and I (with and without kids) have stayed at the hotel several times and we are always pleased with our stays. The rooftop bar and breakfast area is the gem of the hotel. The breakfast is recommended. The friendly and very service-minded staff makes our stay an enjoyable experience. We recommend to use the complimentary bikes of the hotel to explore the Lignano area. The hotel’s complementary beach beds are also great to use. The smaller rooftop pool is great for afternoon relaxation. The room was clean and comfy; very nice shower and bathroom. Wifi ok . A lot of value for your money.

My wife and I had a great vacation at the Italia Palace Hotel; the breakfast buffet had everything you want to have in a balanced and healthy breakfast and the dinner at the grand salon is top class, has an incredible buffet, great choices and awesome staff service. The outdoor bicycles, beach umbrellas and top floor gym made it another memorable vacation!!!

A 4.5 star hotel worth recommending Above expectation +Heated outdoor pool (located on top floor) +Plenty of sun beds by pool (despite hotel being at full occupancy) +Restaurants (highly recommend half board) +Flexible and affordable meal plan (you can swap half board to full board, lunch for dinner, and lunch for credit at top floor a la carte restaurant) +Beach area more spacious than that of neighbouring areas (row 4 and up are free of charge, don't bother with first row as the last 15m to water is public area). +Good selection of car seats for toddlers with private transfer +Located just at the top (1 min walk) of the main high street (shopping street) away from the noise and bustle and crowds +Overall modern and luxurious decor As expected Pool service (dining/drinks) Room size, decor and bathrooms Free towels daily to pool and beach View - most rooms look into other buildings or neighbouring streets, but that's ok as the roof top bar and lounge area is modern and inviting Room service Improvement needed - Waiters need additional training (blunt and indiscreet) Recommend to go to the light house during low tide (usually in late afternoon / early evening) which is a 5 min walk away.…
