A beautiful view and a lovely room overlooking the ocean. A small beach to swim and a pool. What more do you need. Oh that’s right…a nice comfortable bed to top it all off! I enjoyed my stay in this lovely hotel. Ensure you book a sea view room and you will have a lovely stay!
Wow, it is all about the location! At the end of the road / boulevard, directly at the lava rocks beach! Really beautiful! Access to the sea by stairs, and the sea is beautiful for snorkelling. Many sunbeds and many quit places to enjoy the sun. The hotel is old, old fashioned and need some maintenance, but the ambiance is so nice. It is like to live j. The 70ies again. Rooms were ok, beds fantastic. Pool wonderful and breakfast was great. Loved the staff, so friendly. I miss it already!
We first visted this hotel approximately 4 years ago and were quite impressed. Sadly, not so this time. We were on a half-board basis and in view of the previous level of cusine 4 years ago we were looking forward to a range of authentic Sicilian dishes. This did not materialise. Breakfast was adequate but the evening meal was average. Unbelieveably, it seems that Vaping is allowed in the Dining Room during the evening meal as one couple openly Vaped without censure. Our room had a balconey on the first floor and the views were breathtaking. It was cofortable and kept clean. However smoking is allowed on the balconeys and as, after a few days there, we gained a chain-smoking neighbour this was highly unpleasant. The staff were helpful, friendly and did their best to make our holiday enjoyable. Overall, a quiet, enjoyable holiday in a quiet hotel on an Island we adore.…
We had a great stay went walking everyday along the coast and up the hill to Taormina swimming was great too the hotel has a salt water pool thats nice and you can also swim in the sea just walk over the lava rocks then down a short ladder . The gardens are a treat to relax in and watch the sea roll in we had a great room with sea view clean the aircon was good.Manuela was a great help organising our tours and transfers really friendly and helpfull staff allround with a wealth of local info and tips
Located just at the end of the main resort (opposite end to the train station) this beautiful hotel is tucked quietly on the sea front. A wonderful sea water pool surrounded in plenty of sun beds and direct access into deep sea via steps. The location is perfect with a good selection of restaurants on the nearby strip, all within walking distance. A bus stop at the end of the lane to take you to the surrounding resorts and Taormina train station (taxis are VERY expensive in Sicily). the rooms are beautifully decorated with plenty of space and very clean. We were in Sicily for 2 weeks and travelled about staying in a number of different places. this place was by far the best. It is old and perhaps a little tired but I just felt I was in the middle of a Poirot scene. the staff are very helpful and friendly. If I could single out any particular group it would be reception who couldn't have been more welcoming and helpful in planning and advising on what to do and how to do it. The breakfast had plenty of choice and a selection of freshly cooked eggs, bacon etc. cant comment on the lunch or dinner as we chose to eat out. I would definitely go back and would not hesitate to recommend Arathena Rocks Hotel.…
This was not we expected Hotel is quite nice but its impossible to sleep Its very hot and and when you put air von its very cold Pool area nice but most of people using the pool comes from other hotel all day long Breakfast just averige Food quite nice and very nice personal too
We stayed here in June with Fleetway who had booked rooms for 54 people. When we arrived, we were exhausted, and the woman behind the desk was middle-aged with dark curly hair. My sister and I plus another friend traveling as a solo were given two rooms behind the desk. This worried me as usually staff use these types of rooms. As soon as we went in, we noted a very dated decor and bathrooms, but what was unacceptable was the terrible sewage stench emanating from both of the rooms which made us feel nauseated so we asked to please be given other rooms. The lady behind the desk then proceeded to tell our team leader the rooms were fine, but even our team leader acknowledged the smell was awful. It took over an hour of our team leader arguing with this woman behind the desk to get us two different rooms. The woman yelled, slammed doors, and was just plain rude. However, after we were given two other rooms, we were happy with the grounds and the lovely location. Breakfast was really great, too, and we loved the vintage pieces and antiques with blend of Greek and Italian decor. The swimming pool was wonderful, too! If you book here, simply state you want a room upstairs with a sea view, and definitely tell them no rooms behind the desk!…
We visited this hotel whilst touring Italy with fleetwood travel and it was easily the best hotel we stayed at whilst doing the tour the room was comfortable and had a superb view from our third floor balcony overlooking the sea and mountains the food and service was good breakfast was Buffett and had a good selection of cold meat fruit and pastries and someone cooking freshly fried eggs
Nice pool & beautiful grounds set amongst lava rocks & the sea. A small path and a ladder lead you down into the sea for a refreshing swim. Incredibly friendly & helpful staff, especially Manuela! Hope to stay here again in the future!
When this hotel was first built, it would have been spectacular. The position is excellent. As the name suggests, it is built on the rocks ( actually lava ), and from the hotel, the views over the pool and rocks are beautiful. However, the hotel is in dire need of a complete overhaul. Whist the actual bedrooms are quite good, plenty of storage space and roomy, the bathrooms are very poor. All the sanitary fittings are ancient, and the lighting, cabinets etc are dated. The shower is in the middle of the bath, whilst the shower screen is at one end.The temperature of the water varies between warm and tepid. There is a fan in the corner above the bath, which 1. did not work, and 2., would have only blown the steam around the bathroom, as there was no extractor. Great position looking from the balcony. Breakfast was quite good. Freshly squeezed orange juice, and a reasonable choice of options. Bread for toast was not very good, but other bread and rolls were available. Fried eggs were made each morning. The staff were very helpful. When we realized we had been bitten by ' mosquitoes ', they sprayed the room and provided us with a plug-in device. Not only is the position very good for the view, it is very convenient to walk into Giardini Naxos. Whilst there is no beach, there is access to a point on the rocks, where you can go into and out of the sea.…
