We stayed for two nights (would have stayed longer if the hotel had not been booked solid during Easter) and loved it. Great location in the center of Ferrara, which means you can park your car (for 4 euro a day) nearby and just walk around the city. Clean room with all amenities.

We decided to stay in Ferrara for a few days and found this great albergo in the city center. It was very clean, reasonably priced and friendly staff. Our room on the street side was a bit noisy, but we just turned the air conditioning on low and we found it very comfortable. It was so much fun to walk... More

Great hotel inside wall's of ferrara, but by one of the gates... Pleasant room's (ours overlooked a passageway nothing great but didn't matter), Luckily my wife is Italian so had no problem checking-in, Guy/manager was friendly enough to tell us where to park, restaurant recommendations, attractions, maps etcetc. Wifi good.. And breakfast room/buffet was excellent one of best we had on our travels in... More

A spartan establishment. It was cheap and clean, but the TV, the WiFi and the fridge weren't working, and the pleasant chap on the desk did his best but had no English. We also had a room with buzzing, biting mosquitoes in March, and therefore no sleep. The breakfast was minimal and there was no one in attendance. We'll not... More

I might have been given the smallest room in the hotel, the door bumped against the bed and there was no space to put even the tiniest suitcase. The view was disgusting: pigeon excrement and air condition appliances. But the worst part was that the bed and towels were dirty and dusty, it was living hell to sleep in it.... More

I stayed here in September of 2012; at that point, I was told that the hotel had been under new management for a few months. And the management obviously wanted to make sure that the hotel was a success. I always make it a practice to talk to the people in reception; to find out where the good restaurants are,... More

We found this well-located small hotel in Ferrara which seemed clean and well-kept. There were problems, though, that made our stay difficult. They didn't have phone service to reach a number outside the hotel from our room and they seemed unaware of what was wrong or how to fix it. At one point, the concierge sent us to a pay... More

The San Romano is an excellent choice for the average traveler. The inn is located conveniently near the main Piazza Kennedy car park in the old part of town and, thus, provides easy access to the city's more interesting sites. Reception is professional and competent. Front desk and common areas are impecably clean. Rooms are spacious and provide all normal... More
