I stayed here on my way to Ferrara while on my Pilgrimage to Rome. Firstly I shall mention the staff was fantastic. The rest left me uncomfortable, it is over priced for 15.50 euro. Not a hostel price. No breakfast available that is healthy or affordable. Then there was the groups of young "lost" immigrants who were smoking pot round... More

This hostel is nice, with clean big room and clean showers. But the breakfast could be better and there is no AC so the rooms get very hot. At night it is very noisy if you stay in a room next to the road as there is a lot of trafic. Overall, it was ok.

This youth hostel is perfect for those who want to travel without spending too much and with a correct comfort: everything is perfectly clean (rooms and common bathrooms)! A great choice for breakfast! No noise at night! Ideally located: 10min from the town center and 15-20min from the railway station!

This hostel is in a huge building and is not only for students, in fact it mostly had families and older men staying while we were there. Vibe was a bit weird because of that, but the receptionist chick was very friendly and we felt mostly comfortable. It was not very busy in March, but I imagine with this huge... More

This hostel is rather misnamed as there did not appear to be any students staying there when I visited; in fact many of the guests appeared to be single men well over fifty... The building is not too far from the train station nor from the main attractions of the town however the direct walk from the station is not... More

I stayed there 2 times, alone and with my family, and both were great. The second time they didn't have a private ensuite room for us, so we were located on a separated aisle and were the only ones using the nearest toilet. The location is very good, near the castle and not far from the station.

I stayed here for 3 nights in May with a friend. We had an enormous room in the attic - it was a room with 3 single beds, so we had plenty of choices where to sleep. The staff were efficient and reasonably friendly. The location isn't perfect but not bad, just a little walk to the centre. Unfortunately the... More

We stayed in an 8 bed dorm (205) next to the breakfast area. I can see how if it was busy it may have been loud in the mornings, but the hostel was very quiet so it was fine. The hostel is located about 15min walk from the train station, and about 5min to the castle. The room itself was... More

We stayed in Ferrara for 2 nights in June 09 and booked a double room at Hostel Estense. Overall it was a good experience, even though there were some drawbacks which I’d like to highlight. I’ll start with the pros: - Very spacious room (it was actually a triple but we had exclusive use) - Lockable closets - Reception open... More
