We stayed 3 nights at Costes around the Maratona and ideally I'd like to give it a rating of 3.5 because it was better than "average" but possibly not quite "very good"! All in all though, we had a pleasant stay so the balance tips towards a 4! Our room at the back of the hotel was rather basic and a little chilly/damp (presumably owing to the lack of sunlight at that side and the unfortunate weather we got) but it was clean and adequate for the short period we were there and not a bad base for the event. As I recall, it was also reasonably priced. The hotel has a peaceful location out of town, and we enjoyed the food and drinks we had at its bar and restaurant, finding everything to be of a decent quality and good value. We took a taxi into town one night for a change of scenery and that was also very straightforward, with the hotel helping us to book a car. All of the staff were very pleasant and accommodating and we appreciated the friendly and relaxed atmosphere at the hotel. One of the main reasons for choosing this over other hotels in the area was because it has a spa - which my friend and I planned to use while our husbands were cycling. However, to our disappointment (and not mentioned on the website) no treatments are available in the summer months. Further, whilst the small gym, the pool and the infrared booth are open all day (and we enjoyed using them), the other wellness facilities (jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and relaxation room) only open during the afternoon, so this also limited our options slightly. When we were able to use them, the wellness facilities were excellent and I can imagine this being a good place to warm up after skiing!…
We have stayed at the Hotel Costes for many years and we love it. The reviewer who apparently left two reviews under different names could not be more wrong. The hotel management is accommodating and very friendly. The breakfast buffet has a wide array of choices and on most nights, there are choices to be made between two options for the second course as well as the entrée. You can also always get a different dessert from what is featured. The pool is beautiful, as is the wellness center and the rooms are very nice. In the winter, it is ski-in/ski-out and in the summer, you can golf right in front of the hotel. We will continue to stay at the Hotel Costes for many years to come.
Very rude hotel owner, she has shouted as we asked for some bleach to clean the toilet in our room. She started arguing with us which has turned all nasty and has really disturbed us. We were so looking forward to a long awaited break but the owners unprofessional attitude and non existent customer respect has ruined it for us. I wish we should have left immediately. The choice of meals for dinner are very poor, only pasta dish or main course which does not live up to 3S star hotel rating. We are frequent travelers around the World and nobody has treated us so badly as in the Costes hotel. We have stayed in many hotels in Alta Badia, but Costes is the worst one and will definitely not return ever again.
A rather disappointing experience at this hotel early Dec 2017- the owner has shouted at us as we asked for some bleach as we wanted to clean the toilet in our room as it had an unpleasant smell even though the cleaner has apparently attended to it earlier. We were told in our face that the customer is not always wright and we are particular and so many other bad things were shouted at us from the owner. She is extremely unprofessional, if she has ever been at any business school or learnt about customer service- would know that whatever is the matter, the customer is always right and should be never confronting a customer. As we were also on a business trip during this stay and worked on our PC most mornings in the room, the cleaner kept knocking every 5 minutes and disturbing us- the owner's answer to our comment was that they are NOT A BUSINESS HOTEL. Her bad attitude and awful customer service was deeply disappointing and disturbing and has completely ruined our break, could not wait to leave. We will never return to this establishment and I tell everybody in Alta Badia how badly has this hotel owner treated us, hopefully many others will realize her bad qualities and stay away from her establishment, she does not deserve to be in this position. Comparing to many wonderful tourist establishments in Alta Badia, Hotel Costes in Corvara is the worst one in every aspect. For dinner there is no choice of food, only one starter, pasta or main course- there are many other hotels of a same category where you pay less and they offer 3 choices for each course for dinner. Take your money elsewhere.…
We stayed here for 2 nights. The restaurant was nice, we opted for the half board. Food was decent, Tyrollian in nature. Although we did not have a view where we stayed, just a short walk up the trail next to the hotel you can see the entire valley and surrounding mountains of Corvara. You can take the gondola just next to the hotel up the mountainside to the rifugio pralongia (beautiful views!). We opted for hike instead, which was wonderful. There is a golf course on site as well is you're into that. The hotel was cozy, staff was nice. You'll however have to shuttle into town though.
