Great location for skiing - on the road to Cinque Torre and Col Gallina. There is ski and boot storage as well as a ski tuning room and ski rental shop! Best parts: #1: THE STAFF! Check in was fast and easy and dining room service was super, especially Vita, our server. Gentilissima!!! #2: The meals: Breakfast had everything we needed and more, including scrambled eggs and bacon! We were there for a ski competition, so I don't know if those choices are always available... Dinner choices were great and not too expensive. Especially important now as COVID protocols eliminated dining options elsewhere. #3: The room was newly appointed and had adequate space. The views were beautiful! #4: Located on the road to Cinque Torre and Col Gallina, so it saved drive time in the morning.

The room was rather tired unlike the website photos, which showed a renovated room. Bathroom was a little dilapidated and in need of a serious renovation. Room was also very noisy with the next room shower right next to our bed. The combination of wooden floors and very thin walls, made the room very noisy. Curtains were very thin almost transparent. Breakfast was a bit disappointing.

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel, and would happily return, but the hotel has both advantages and disadvantages, you need to determine what is important to you before making a decision to stay here. Advantages: Historic building, great location away from town, pleasant employees, good food (both dinner and breakfast - great breakfast variety), free parking, fast free Wi-Fi, excellent value for the price charged. Beds are very comfortable, but firm. Disadvantages: It's a 100 year old building, soundproofing is poor (you can hear people in the next room), only one tiny elevator the size of a phone booth (plan on walking up and down the stairs), not at all handicap accessible. Rooms are very small. There is a busy road in front of the hotel, popular with motorcycle riders. It's a long way (about 8 km) from the town of Cortina, there are no other restaurants near the hotel. If you book here, ask for a room facing the rear of the hotel (away from road noise) and ask for a room that has been renovated (renovated rooms are very pleasant). Like I said at the beginning, I liked the place and I would happily return, but some people might not accept the disadvantages.

Our group of 8 stayed 2 nights here after thru-trekking for 7 days. We loved the relaxing area in front of the hotel and spent several hours reading, napping, relaxing there. The WiFi is accessible from the rooms. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant and their staff are excellent. The food is very good. The quietest rooms are the ones away from the main street and on the top floor. Be sure to check your room request before you arrive. Sometimes they overbook and will put 2 people in a room with one bed and a roll away bed. When this occurs, you can't walk in the room or access the bathroom without moving the roll away bed.

Great location if you want to sleep near, but not in, Cortina. Lovely views of the beautiful dolomites, on busy road during day, but quiet at night. Friendly and helpful staff. Large, fairly well equipped rooms, but I found the beds rather hard. If your room has a bathtub you may find it narrow to stand up in to shower. Wifi was also weak in our room. Generally well recommended.
