Some of the most spectacular 360 degree views of the Dolomites... truly amazing, and just oodles of WWI ruins and history. There is a WWI museum on the road below, that we went to a few days earlier before we started hiking, and it was very interesting as well... well organized and includes (literally) piles of artifacts obviously gathered from... During our crossing of the Fanes group we spend one night in the ref. Laguzuoi and spent a very good time there. Unfortunately three persons (a father and his two boys) of our seven persons group had to cancel the reservation on short term because one of the two boys became ill. The cancellation has been accepted by the very... More

We stayed here 2 nights on the AV1 hike. It is at 9000 feet & has no potable water so you must buy bottled. Also, showers were 3,5 euros. The dinners were marginal. They served fairly good first course pastas but second courses were awful. We got 1/2 baked potato with some cheese on it one night. And the other,... More

This is a required stop on the AV1, if only because the approach to the rifugio is so daunting. (You WILL get there!) It will be crowded when you arrive, but the crowds will dissipate when the last lift goes down to Cortina around 4:30. Then you will be left alone with companion hikers on the amazing terrace. Food is... More

We stayed two nights at Lagazuoi. The most amazing views of all the huts we visited. We loved the big deck to enjoy a drink after a hard hike or watch the beautiful sunsets. The staff were very friendly and knowledgable about the area. The wifi was a definite plus for us. The food was really great - hearty and... More

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying there for two nights during our hut to hut hike in The Dolomites. The trek to the rifugio was challenging but arriving here was such a reward. The beds were comfy and amenities were great!

This refuge is out of this world! We stayed here for two nights during our trekking holiday through the Dolomites. We arrived at a very busy time, Lagazuoi is a very popular lunch time stop for walkers, but the staff still took the time to show us to our rooms. As with most refuges we stayed at, the rooms were... I would like to thank Guido of Rifugio Lagazuoi for being willing once again to accommodate my group of 46 teenagers and their chaperons. Our stay was epic! On arrival at the summit, we were greeted by a "WWI Austrian soldier". He agreed to come and meet with our group to recall some of the Great War stories - up... More
