We had a great stay at the family run Dolomiti Lodge Alvera. It is easy to find, just outside Cortina on the road to Bolzano. The Lodge is brand new and aesthetically extremely pleasing in "Mountain Chic" style. Our room was beautiful, spacious, comfortable and featured one of the most amazing balconies ever. Fantastic views on the mountains with nothing between your balcony and nature. The restaurant is a must..amazing food and wines, always busy with many locals and guests from outside the hotel dining here. The staff is pleasant and professional, with the charismatic lady G. at reception as the absolute highlight - very personal, always helpful with a smile and equipping us with excellent suggestions. Only reason for not giving it 5 stars is that the price level is very elevated, even for Cortina. We live in Switzerland and Dubai, so are used to steep prices, overall it was worth it but given the market is was likely 30% too high. Value for the restaurant was much better, with reasonable prices for food and wine, given the outstanding quality and setting. The Spa is very nice, modern and extremely clean. A pool would have made it perfect after our 6 hour hikes. Owner told us construction of a pool is being planned for next year. Only minuscule negative point apart from price level is that we were a bit disappointed to not receive even the slightest gesture during any of our meals, each drink, coffee and even little chocolate appeared on the invoice, rather unusual for Italy. That said, our overall stay was a big success, thank you staff, and we hope to be back one day!!

I was absolutely stunned about the hotel. Had a room with garden and view to the Tofana. No better way to weak up. Everything is perfect, the restaurant great and the staff Very friendly. The two brothers who own the house are lovely and you feel immediately comfortable and home. I will definitely come back.

We chose Dolomiti Lodge after some looking around and is it’s so new it’s always a risk with not many reviews etc. But maybe it’s because people want to keep this place secrets! From even before we arrived the service was impeccable with recommendations and booking of restaurants for lunch on the mountain and supper in the evenings. This was all done by Julia who could not have been more helpful throughout our stay. From the moment we arrived we could not have been made more welcome. We arrived after lunch service but within minutes they had laid a table and produced a really tasty cold lunch - just what we needed. Rooms - Spacious, amazing views up to the mountains. With really nice bathrooms Spa - Brand new and state of the art Steam Room, Sauna, Mint Mist Shower and Pine “Cold Storm” Shower. Also a number of comfy beds to rest on. Restaurant - really beautiful food and it proved very popular on the evenings we were they. Ski Room - very new in the car park with ski boots heaters and ski racks. Really handy to get stuff in and out of car. If I had to find 1 quibble and I had to think hard it would be that the bed was 2 singles pushed together which did come apart slightly during the night. Maybe some sort of zip mattress might help or full double bed. Will 100% be back. Already planning out next visit

My husband and I didn’t want to leave! This place is first class all the way, from the view, rooms, amenities, staff and breakfast. Julia was amazing, she took excellent care of us and was such a sweetheart! Her hospitality made us feel at home, and she gave us some great recommendations, as well as booking everything for us. This place is beyond exeptional!
