We were moved to a room because the shower wouldn’t drain and water was flooding the hallway. The second room shower also didn’t drain but the night desk person said there’s nothing she could do until in the morning and there were no more rooms. My husband complained and said we needed a shower. She put us in 122 which come to find out is on the second floor (3rd if you count floor zero?) The shower stall barely drains but at least fills up, and only one door moves , we asked for maintenance while we were gone all day but it wasn’t fixed. Ask for a mini fridge if you need one. Beds are too firm and two twins pushed together with a crease. Decor needs updating or just fresh pant. Mildew in shower tile. Francesco in restaurant was very helpful and pleasant. Unfortunately food wasn’t good and overpriced. The chicken cutlet, fish sticks, and hamburger patty was from my elementary school days. Don’t order the tough steak. French fries are good, salad is good, bread not so much, fried calamari ok. Skip the pricey breakfast unless you like a lot of sweets. Hotel tax sounds little high 12.00 pp/pd what desk clerk said but booking only says 12.00. Beautiful VIEW! Rent car from Europcar +390766502464. Good price friendly people (Maria). Call Sara for van taxi +393922548284 very nice and helpful.

I’ll keep the words as brief as possible. Long story short a group of us booked months in advance and upon arrival were told that the hotel was overbooked due to a number of cruise ships having docked nearby. We were given substitute sub standard rooms in a nearby hovel and didn’t have access to amenities. Attached are several photos from the group. We felt we went back in time to a hotel from the 80s which hadn’t had guests since the 50s. Also non existent wifi, no kettle in the room and the constant smell of sewage from the bathroom.

The hotel was filthy There was no lift so had to carry 4 suitcases down to our room and back The bathroom was grimy. The sheets were clean but no mattress or pillow protectors The location isn’t good. No taxis to take you into town for dinner So over a mile walk along a narrow pavement Luckily we only stayed one night pre cruise There was a shuttle bus for 10 euro each to the port. Was quite expensive also. Breakfast was edible Would not recommend

On first arriving on a sunny evening, the hotel looked lovely. But it was all downhill after that. When I went to check in, I was told that my room wasn’t actually in the hotel. I was given a key and the receptionist pointed to the vague distance. I had to drag my large suitcase out through the hotel car park, completely off the hotel premises, across a road, and through a sort of depressing motel complex to different premises on another site, completely unstaffed. I then discovered that my room was up two flights of narrow stone stairs, no lift. There was no way I could get my case up them. I couldn’t face dragging my case back to the hotel, so left it and went back to the hotel to ask for a different room. I was given a key to a downstairs room. I returned, and discovered I couldn’t open the door. So – back to the main hotel again. The receptionist had to come with me, and drove me – with huge difficulty, she opened the door. I went in, took my cases in, and left, in order to get some dinner. Before going, I checked to see if I could open the door again. And couldn’t. Back to the receptionist, who told me that no-one else had difficulty getting into rooms. Not true – I talked to other guests, who had to get the maintenance staff to open their rooms up as they couldn’t. I was given a couple of other keys to other rooms, no more luck with those. I eventually got into one of the rooms, and realised that the problem with the lock was that the door frame was so broken that the door no longer sat straight in it, so the lock jammed. When you pushed the door, the whole door frame moved inwards. The room was large, but pretty awful. For example, the lampshades were broken and filthy and there were squashed mosquitos on the wall. I didn’t feel safe. Walking back – again – to the actual hotel for dinner, I discovered that the large car park was completely unlit – it had lights, they just weren’t on. I asked the receptionist to turn the lights on – she put the outside lights for the building on, but didn’t bother with the car park. So when I returned to the horrible motel place, it was a walk in completely darkness. As a single female traveller, I felt extremely vulnerable. The hotel will not call normal taxis for you. They have one shuttle car and if you book early with them, you might be lucky enough to get a place. The first thing I saw in reception was a sign on the desk warning you that you might not get transfer transport. What sort of hotel won’t call taxis for guests? The breakfast room had a sea view and could have been lovely. As it was, none of the tables had been cleared – apparently for hours, as they were all completely covered in dirty crockery. The choice was very poor – when I arrived, there were just a few badly burnt croissants sitting in a huge pile of black crumbs. I have always believed Mercure to be a reliable chain, and this is probably why my travel agent chose it. Mercure should be deeply ashamed of themselves. I suppose that most people book this place for just one night before boarding a cruise, so it never needs to worry about return custom. It is horrible. To be avoided.

This Hotel is classified as a 4 stars , but I think that they themselves have added the stars, first thing that I noticed that there was no lift to the ground floor rooms, with two 23 kilos suitcases it's was not fun to carry them down the steps. Second he room, mama mia!, what a hole, sorry the only way I can descripe it. The security safe did not work, please see photos, the toilet had corrosion inside, there was a TV cable connection halve broken, as well as the cover of a socket in the bathroom, the bedroom headboard broken and to finsh it off the Air-conditioning remote was not to be found everywhere. The good thing about this place that we only stay for a day prior getting a cruise. Ariberechi ....whatever.

This place should be closed down. It is disgusting. For nearly 200 Euros per night, didn't even get a bottle of drinking water or any coffee in the room. It is falling to bits & should be demolished. The food is awful & the staff have no idea what they are doing. The paintwork in the rooms looks like it was completed by a 4 year old. The rooms are bare & spartan. There is NO WAY this is a 4 Star hotel unless that is in some weird parallel dimension. It is dirty & unfit for habitation. Stick to some of the nicer hotels in downtown Civitavecchia like the San Giorgio. I normally do but thought I would give this a try on the seafront for a change. What a TERRIBLE MISTAKE that was. Only redeemable thing was the girl who originally checked me in on the reception was quite polite. Even the staff working this hotel know it is a DUMP.

I’m not sure how this rates 4 stars. Hotel is very tired and need a thorough clean. For the Mecure I was disappointed. Had to pay €10 each if we wanted to used the well worn pool. Hotel has promise and there are glimpses of where they have tried to tidy up but rooms are in desperate need of an overhaul. On a positive note the pillow was good sheets and towels of a good quality.

The hotel is very poorly located, far from everything, we arrived at 11:20 p.m. there was nothing to eat? It's serious. The restaurant was closed, and there are no restaurants nearby. NO TAXIS available to the hotel. Frankly shameful. Let's not forget the condition of the hotel. Breakfast 2/10. Minimalist room.

We had booked a room in San Giorgio hotel for one night to celebrate our wedding anniversary there before taking a cruise but when our plane landed we were called from the hotel and told that they were having Covid positive persons in the room that was meant to be ours and that they couldn't leave and the hotel was otherwise fully booked so they had booked us to Mercure Civitavecchia Sunbay Park hotel instead. The hotel was so dirty and disgusting, personnel not very friendly and breakfast very simple. Definitely not how we wanted to celebrate our wedding anniversary. I strongly recommend to avoid this hotel.

Our manager apparently looked at the photo of the hotel with beautiful views🤷‍♀️The hotel is declared as 4*, but it's only 2((( We came for one day to follow the Disney cruise with our grandson. Starting from the reception, the appearance of the hotel is unpleasant, no one took us with suitcases to the room, the elevator is old, small, with great difficulty they lifted their things. Bad room, we were shocked and ran to the pool, it is paid and does not belong to the hotel. We booked another hotel and left quickly.👍
