This was our third time at this lovely hotel, personal and comfortable. More like a home away from home. Driving through the countryside, you drive up a hill to this magnificent 150 yr old estate with an outstanding Italian restaurant. The highlight of this stay was cooking with the chef in his tiny kitchen and making an outstanding ricotta and spinach ravioli! We also made a ragu and a chicken liver pate, his style.....when I booked our stay, I asked about cooking with the chef to perfect my ravioli with some keen tips. He did not disappoint. I loved the class which was with another delightful couple, but the highlight was the translation that the general manager gave us. So much fun with all of them and what I prepared was served for dinner in the evening with my husband. This was so special. Thank you so much for a wonderful stay at your hotel.

GREAT Place to call home as you tour Montalcino, Montelpuciano, Pienza and the surrounding towns and villages. We selected what "was" called the Quadrupole Room. It was up 2 flights of "very unique extra wide circular stairs that might have been in Architectural Digest". Very happy that I lift weight, lol. Our room was very nicely appointed in a rustic theme and the bathroom was beautiful. The hotel restaurant serves up VERY GOOD food and their wine list is very nice. The entire staff was charming, always available to help suggest things to do or additional restaurants to eat at. The location is very nice and their property is private and quiet. The pool looked perfect!

Fantastic food and wonderful host. We are all vegetarian and were catered for completely by the restaurant and chef. Excellent wine from the property and lovely olive oil too Been back several times and it never disappoints. The location is also lovely and easily accessible.

Fantastic gem of a place, beautiful location, and with discreet staff offering the very best of service. We absolutely loved it, and are already planning our return. The infinity pool offers up spectacular views of the rolling Tuscan hills, and there are plenty of sunbeds to while away the hours under the sun. Outdoor furniture galore, plenty of space, and no sense of anyone being 'too close'. Parking is offered under the cover of trees, meaning cars stay reasonably cool even in the midday sun.

A big big “THANK YOU“ to Antonio, Alexandra, Gabriella, Valentina and the other people in the background whom we don’t know by name for making our 10 days vacations in Tuscany a perfect and very relaxing stay! There are many positive things to mention about this location, which I will do below, but the most important for me are really the people who work here. So much truly friendliness and helpfulness which we experienced every day… you don’t find this a lot anymore in the world. So, thanks again to all of you at Poggio Piglia! The whole property is very well equipped. A perfect mix of the old traditional and modern amenities. Our room was very clean on arrival and tidied up well every day. They only have 9 rooms in the main building and 2 in separate small houses. This gives a more family feeling – no mass tourism. The pool is refreshing after a sunny time in the garden and has an amazing view. The breakfast was always a nice start into the day. I would say a good mix of Italian and intercontinental buffet on the sunny terrace. The dinner was very tasty, made fresh and individual respecting our wishes (e.g. vegetarian for my wife). Of course their own red wine is perfect, especially the one from 2013. The staff had good suggestions for “what to do“ in the area at all time. Everyone of them suggested personal tips to us. From 20 minutes to 2 hours driving you will reach a lot of historical and interesting locations in Tuscany.. We definitely recommend this Hotel and will come again in the next years for sure! Wifi… Yes, WiFi is available indoor and outdoor, but not really needed to relax in this location :-)

Gabriella and Valentina made this stay so amazing - they were kind, friendly, helpful and made it their goal to ensure we had a wonderful and relaxing time. The hotel was lovely, pool setting amazing and the breakfast spread was to die for. The location was perfect as we were able to access many nearby towns via car. Thank you for a wonderful experience and we hope to be back soon!

We drove down through a long avenue of trees to a beautiful tuscan house. The welcome was friendly, and, being a group of eight we took up 3 rooms in this hotel. The rooms were large & luxurious with views across the tuscan countryside. It was during the height of the European heatwave but the air conditioning kept our rooms at a very comfortable temperature. The choice of food at breakfast was great with cooked food as well as continental meats, cheeses, fruit, yogurts & local breads & cakes. We sat at a long table overlooking the beautiful landscaped gardens & olive trees. We relaxed around the very clean pool looking across the tuscan valley. The dinners gave plenty of choice with meats, pasta & vegetarian dishes. The staff, especially Alexandra, were very helpful giving suggestions on where to visit in the neighbouring areas. Antonio & Gabriella were also very friendly & helpful. What a wonderful find for a relaxing time in beautiful surroundings.

We had a 2 nights stay with 2 kids in this lovely establishment. Antonio was there to give us a warm welcome as we entered and helped us bring the luggage to the second floor as there were only stairs. We stayed in room 7 looking out the garden. The room was nice and clean with shabby Tuscan charm. There’s a pool by the garden and the plants were beautiful. I had to constantly remind the kids to stay quiet as there were mainly couples in the pool area on the first day, and I didn’t wanna ruin their romantic stay. The restaurant served fresh and delicious food, and the waiter Tomasso with long beard was always attentive and had a smile on his face. Buffet breakfast was sumptuous! I especially appreciate all the herbs, flowers and trees in the premise as they give off a nice aroma. Love the smell of lavender! We also ventured out to see to grapes and olive trees grown in their lot. This place gives us such great memory and I would love to visit again one day.
