Detailed Reviews
From the warm welcome on arrival to our departure the following morning we hugely enjoyed the delights of Casa Marzapane and the charms of her host, Manuela.
We were made to feel so welcome immediately, Manuela was happy for us to park our huge and sadly quite ugly van on her beautifully manicured driveway and then showed us to our gorgeous room and insisted that should we need anything to just message her. I'm like to think I'm a nice person but I am happy yo recognise that I can be quite high maintenance so of course I wanted things, I wanted cold drinks, to check the wi-fi code and ask about potential dinner options so we WhatsApped frequently over the next hour or so. Manuela very kindly ordered Chinese food for us and arranged delivery, she set up plates, cutlery and even a candle on a patio table outside our room.
Our room was delightful, Manuela has incredible taste and upcycling some old shutters/cupboard doors from her Grandmother's house to make a stunning headboard is genius.
The house sits at the top of a very steep drive on a very steep lane, it is accessed through electric gates and feels very private despite a neighbouring property. The views are simply stunning and can be enjoyed from every aspect of Manuela's beautiful garden. There is an above ground pool too - have I sold it to you yet?
Breakfast was excellent, served on the terrace with views across the open countryside towards Maijella mountain and afterwards I could happily have grabbed a book and tucked myself under the shade of a tree cappuccino in hand but sadly we had to leave.
I am in no doubt that we will return, how lucky that we live less than 2 hrs away and have that opportunity. We have friends and family who will love Casa Marzapane as much as we did and we can't wait to take them.
Manuela is a wonderful and dedicated host and is quite simply the cherry on the heavenly slice of cake that is Casa Marzapane!

This really is the most beautiful bed and breakfast, located in truly stunning surroundings.
The owner/host Manuela is just delightful. Her attention to detail is evident and her chosen decor inside the house really tasteful.
I stayed here with family members and Manuela couldn’t have been more accommodating or helpful. The three rooms we were given were all lovely and unique in design. Two of them were garden rooms and exactly that, positioned on the lower ground floor and overlooking part of the well manicured and gorgeous garden that wraps around the entire house. The other room was one of the suites inside the main house. This room also had a separate lounge area and a huge bathroom.
We were able to order a takeaway meal from a place nearby and eat it at the table on the main terrace. This terrace overlooks the Majella mountain range and as the sunlight start to fade, it’s a wonderful place for a sundowner drink.
The house and rooms were immaculately clean and are all very well equipped. Although we didn’t use it there’s a lovely overground swimming pool in the garden that’s well placed to make the most of the sunshine. There are also numerous seating areas within the grounds of the house, all providing tranquil spots to either catch the sun, sit in the shade, read a book or just to take in your fabulous surroundings.
The beds in the rooms were really comfortable and breakfast the following morning just fantastic. The food just kept on coming and was accompanied by your choice of tea or lovely big coffees. The eclectic crockery it was all served on only added to the overall charm of the place.
All in all I cannot recommend this bed and breakfast enough. It feels like an oasis on the edge of a busy city. It is peaceful and has a wonderful, happy vibe.
Thank you Manuela for making our stay such a special one and for leaving us all with some amazing memories.

Our visit to Chieti was brief as unfortunately my husband was ill.
We chose to say at Casa Marzapane and it was a perfect choice. The home is beautiful and the host Manuela is simply lovely.
We booked the spa room and it has a truly magnificent view that will take your breath away. Although we visited in January and it was a wee bit cool I took full advantage of having a tea ( which Manuela prepared for us upon arrival) on the terrace and soaked up a little sun as well. The house and room we occupied is tastefully decorated and we had a perfect sleep.
Manuela prepared a wonderful breakfast for us with more than enough food and some delectable pastries!
If you are thinking of staying here please do, you won’t be disappointed. We hope to return in the summer.

We had a 6 night stay to enjoy Abruzzo region and were very satisfied with every aspect of Casa Marzapane . Manuela is very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable regarding places to visit in Abruzzo. The Vila is so stunning, every bit of their decorations has totally melt my heart away and extremely clean throughout. Our room was spacious with everything that we needed. We had a huge terrace with a beautiful view. Breakfasts were very special with all the homemade cakes and suited all tastes. The villa is quiet, and is situated near to numerous restaurants, and a main supermarket. We would highly recommend a stay at Casa Marzapane.
