We visited Santa Lucia 4 years ago, coming back hoping for the huge gelatos we would get at a really good price. We knew the service was bad, but not this bad. We ordered 3 grande gelatos in a cone and one cup. As the lady was handing us our gelato she intentionally pressed her thumb into each of the cones so hard that they all cracked, and when we asked for the three scooped like we had ordered and payed for she told us that only the grande cup had three scoops and that the cones only had 2. We walked off with our small broken cones and decided after to go and ask about the sizes. We asked a different lady who told us that it was 3 scoops if you pay for grande regardless of cone or cup. We all walked out annoyed and disappointed at the service we received. Deciding that maybe it was just one time and that we should go back again as the food is good and the arancini is amazing (possibly one of the best I’ve tried) we went for lunch. We went to pay at the counter to get our ticket meanwhile one of the lady’s behind was screaming that she had to answer the phone that was ringing, after we got our ticket we went to get our food. At the food counter the lady serving was awful. We had ordered a salmon arancini as well as a few others, but notwithstanding the fact we were all very clear with the arancini we wanted, the man had written on the ticket that they were all the same price, €2. They weren’t. The salmon arancini were €2.50, and seeing as that’s not what the ticket said we were told we couldn’t get that arancini. While we were choosing one that was the price the ticket said the server was tapping her kitchen tongs impatiently like she had everything better to do! Overall, I don’t recommend it unless you are a local or you don’t mind being treated like that.

We stayed here for three nights as we travelled around Sicily. Cefalu is a lovely quaint town on the coast which we loved visiting. The hotel was fine and I can imagine in height season with a family it would be a good choice. The rooms were spacious but a bit dated, breakfast was a bit of a bun fight, but it does a have a nice cafe/ bar. Be warned it is about a 25 minute walk into the main part which is lovely alongside the beach but you have to negotiate a steep step of steps from the hotel to reach it!

Definitely discourage. Food very poor, for breakfast every day the same thing ie two types of cheese of the worst quality, two types of cold cuts of the same quality as cheese, scrambled eggs from powder and hard-boiled eggs. Of fruit only pears, there were also plums (Hungarian) besides nothing. No fruits of the melon or watermelon kind! No good tomatoes (by dinner they were half green and unpalatable). Room of mediocre standard. The air conditioning worked after intervention at the reception and sometimes turned off by itself after about an hour. Refrigerator cabinet with a broken door, tiles in the bathroom shelled, flush once worked once did not. Bidet clogged with an automatic plug, the opening of which did not work. The shower cabin seems to be for children. Although I am not of large stature, after closing the door the wall is 20cm in front of your nose. Service except for the young waiter and the ladies at the front desk as if they worked for punishment - no smile, no good morning. Overall in my opinion MAX two stars.

I was there for about a week and from the first day i felt an amazing italian spirit. The food was good especially dinner with different kinds of pasta and seafood. Through the day there was many activities at the pool like dancing in water or fun competitions. Every night there was a live entertainment guided by amazing people, it began with dances and overall fun activities for children then there was either a karaoke, talent show or some kind of performance. Everything ended with a dance night with great music and many many different dances. The atmosphere created by animators was fantastic, homely and truly italian i'll definitely come back here.

Our stay here was fantastic. The food was excellent, and far exceeded a 3 star hotel. The facilities were great and it looked lovely. All staff were very polite, friendly and helpful, and the hotel entertainment reps were all super friendly and good fun. Location was perfect with a good bus service to Cefalú Town right outside the hotel. There is also a really nice cafe attached to the hotel, where everything was very reasonably priced and there was a lovely atmosphere in there. We will definitely go back!

I have purchased in May a package from the Bulgarian tour operator "Odans Travel" for the hotel in the period 03-10.09.2022. Before the full payment on 03.08. from the company confirmed the trip. Today I received a notification that it will not take place because the hotel could not confirm the check-in due to overbooking. Failed vacation!

This was my first time in Sicily, but I can surely tell - You can fall in love with the place because of the views, the weather and the people who create a wonderful atmosphere. There wasn't much choice at breakfast but evening dinners were delicious with a wide variety of dishes. I had an amazing time with a group of animators. I will really miss: Lorenzo "One love", "DJ TARAS", "pugile notturno con il sorriso più bello" Giorgia, Davide "il Capo","un siciliana talento della danza" Giorgia and "a più meravigliosa" Giulietta. Love you guys and hope to see you again ;)

I had fantastic time with my family in the hotel Santa Lucia e le Sabbie d'Oro. It was our second time in this place. I can recommend this hotel because of the outstanding Animation Group. They were made our time off. They have encouraged all guests to have fun and Aqua Gym every morning. I would like to come back there and have a great time with the Guys: lovely Taras, Juliette, 2 Georgies, Davide and Lorenzo! I am really appreciated all the staff in this hotel, very polite waiters and houskeepers

It is a bad move to post everywhere the photos of the property with its only best, good looking parts. Partly, hotel was renewed ( mostly outside) and it looks really fine and representative but…it is very very old hotel, with barely working conditioning, old, dirty carpets, and, most frustrating - weird rules and organization of the living. It was +32 at 23-00 upon our check in. Room we received was small and a bit ugly, but still we were glad to have a bed to sleep and a shower to have. However it was the same +32 in the room and air conditioner wasn’t cooling appropriately up to the morning, when we finally felt a bit colder. Mini fridge was not working at all. Locker on the door is old and works properly 1 time in a 3 try. There was no place to dry our swimsuits, we dit it on the windowsill. Breakfast is the same every single day: eggs, proshutto, cheese, croissants. Minimum vegetables, almost no fruits. If you don’t want to get upset with lunch or dinner, ask the restaurant manager once you will come for the first time - where you can seat, because the have weird system with “bookings” on each table. We didn’t know that and it was unpleasant when a waitress came and asked us to raise up together with our plates and look for manager… Some tables are served well with white tablecloth, others not, as ours…Why? Some guests are better then others? During lunch and dinner you will not find any beverage there until you pay for the one. Even regular water. !!! Moreover during whole our stay 0,3 cola cost 2 eur, but on sunday price was 2,50.. Food is OK, but if tou wish to have really tasty Italian dishes - go to Cefalu and you will have a brilliant gastronomic experience for 20-30 eur together wit dessert. Also during the week we stayed, it was noticed a new announcement on the doors : if you want to use a pool, it is compulsory to wear a swimming cap. We never used the pool, buy guys, are you serious? During +35 and higher under the sun and no wind, using caps? In a resting pool? And people do. Not pleasant weiters at the bar and food dpt., i guess because the amount of people and lack of personell to help them. Chambermaid work is 5+>> cleaning every day, we asked for additional pillows and she gave them right away. A long-hair man on the reception is a bit impolite, interrupts in the middle of speech… Way to sea with a steep stairs so beware if you have some physical issues. One yard and restaurant is renting for weddings and parties. For this time is closed for other guests… I will never ever recommend this hotel.

My family (husband, child 5 y.o and myself) had a great time and we are highly satisfied with the staff , hotel and location. Staff is very helpful, kind and ready to answer on all questions. Special greeting for Gaja ❤. Our room with balkony was spacious, clean and tidy. Everyday cleaning of the rooms was amazing. Food is delicious (for the breakfast drinks are included, highlights for us were hot chocolate, cold milk and yogurs and from food - chocolate croissants, pasta, fish, desserts, fruits). You will find every day different buffet with tasty food (different fishes, salads, deserts, fruits etc). This place has a soul which is hard to find in big hotels. You can enjoy daily entertainment by the swimming pool and at night. We did enjoy for sure the baby shark dance after which our son would fall asleep in a minute. Hotel beach is long, clean and we felt safe since lifeguards were there montioring. There are stairs between hotel and beach which we took as exercise routine not to gain weight due to food that you can not resist. Cefalu is approximate 2km away but the walk near the beach is worth it for sure and you will stay in shape and healthy. ;) In case you don't like walking, bust stop is in front of hotel. We must mention our guide Vanda which is amazing as a person and visiting all the places with her was an amazing experience. For sure we will come back to Hotel and to Vanda as well!!!!
