What can we say? From the moment we met Ulriike, with hugs all around, we knew we were in for a fun day!!! That, we quickly learned, was a huge understatement, as we headed into Poggibonsi's Tuesday Market to shop like the locals for our cooking class. A real treat was the opportunity to sample & learn about many of...

We took a fantastic cookery class with Ulrike. It is a genuinely hands-on class, with everyone given a dish to prepare, plenty of instruction, and handy hints and tricks along the way. The food was delicious and eminently 'doable' back home. Most of all, the class is fun - Ulrike is a great teacher and host. We were supposed to...

A very friendly welcome, Ulrike made us feel right at home as soon as we arrived! Despite our group (of three families) being quite large, everyone had more than enough space to do their own thing or simply hang out together (mostly by the swimming pool). The beautiful landscape and relaxing atmosphere often made it quite difficult to muster up...

My wife and I decided to take a cooking class in Tuscany while Honeymooning from Australia. We were so glad we did it as it introduced us to Ulrike and her beautiful property. Feeling right at home we were assigned meals to cook and got straight to it in Ulrike's warm homely kitchen. While overseeing each of the group of...

We are so glad we decided to do a cooking class with Ulrike on our honeymoon this past July. We had a private cooking class in Ulrike’s own kitchen. We started out by picking fresh vegetables from the garden and then cooked a five-course meal! The experience was very hands on and we cooked all of the dishes with help...

This is our 2nd visit and Ulrike and her son Fabian are still wonderful hosts in this unique gem of a villa in the Tuscan countryside. This historic villa survived WWII intact and is beautifully maintained - offerings include cooking lessons, archery lessons, a refreshing pool, and a breathtaking view to simply relax and enjoy. Plenty for young and old...

From the moment you pull down the long driveway into Ulrike's beautiful property, you realize that this won't be like any other vacation. From the very beginning, Ulrike makes you feel at home and like a part of the family. We stayed in the Casa Pineta which manages an atmosphere that is cozy, authentic, and simultaneously very well-equipped with what...

My husband and I traveled to Europe for two weeks in April with another couple. We spent the first week in Florence (2 nights), Lucca (1 night) and Cinque Terre (2 nights) before settling into our villa at Poderi Val Verde for a week. What a peaceful and welcoming setting for two couples to share! The villa was very well...

“The rooms with the best views are 3&4. The best room for mobility impaired is either 3 or 2, although the tub/shower combo in room 3 may be a problem for those not able to step over a standard height tub wall. Room 2 is great for kids, and room 1, though the smallest is the most intimate.”
