We stayed in this hotel during a recent stay in Tuscany and initially we really liked it very much. - Nice location just outside town but well within walking distance - Beautiful hilltop views across valley - Nice restaurant - Very friendly and helpful staff - Well located pool with stunning views Unfortunately the strange and sometimes rude behaviour of... We visited this hotel with my wife on our honeymoon and hoped to enjoy the wonderful atmosphere of Chianti in this lovely looking place. We were welcomed by lovely staff and offered nice cup of espresso. Room was lovely even though walls were paper thin and the bed squiked like a dying rat just by breathing. Problems started when we... More

This small hotel is set about 15 minutes walk out of Castellini in Chianti and enjoys very peaceful surroundings. (luckily no problems with tractors as per a previous reviewer). There is a pool with umbrellas for shade. There is a small minibar in the room. Plenty of parking. The evening menu is ok, should be something for everyone. Main dish... More

This was a nice hotel just outside Castellini. The pool was really nice and the views lovely. The room we had was nice but was very hot; possibly because it backed onto the kitchen. It was lucky that we brought a fan with us in the car; otherwise we would not have slept. The room also smelled of whatever was... More

The good points: * excellent views over vineyards and olive groves in tranquil environment (but see re woken by tractors), * lots of individual secluded lounging & sunbathing areas in the grounds around this converted rural farm building, *adequate swimming pool with plenty of high quality lounger beds, * mini bar fridge in room, * drinks and dinner available but... I am finally writing this review even though it was August of 2013 when we stayed at Laura's wonderful pensione. I meant to do it earlier but this is what I do recall, and so I wanted to share it with everyone. We found Podere on an online booking site and my husband and I decided to take a chance... More

Pros: Great hotel Awesome views in Chianti region Lovely breakfast with home made cakes Helpful staff Good location via car Not pricey at all Recommended a nice vinyard in Chianti Cons: None Definitely recommended if you are touring around Tuscany like we were. Dinner in local town is walking distance if you can brave the hill and darkness! We did... More

Podere Palazzolo was an vey pleasant introduction to the Tuscan countryside. Located at a quiet dead end with a beautiful view over the valley, olive trees and grapevines. The buildings were carefully restored and maintained - oozing of atmosphere and history. Our room was one of the smaller ones, but still spacey with a nice bathroom. Outside was a patio... More

OK folks remember this is a farming locality so there are mosquitos and the windows don't have screens but it is easy to buy a mosquito spray in the village shop and keep the windows closed. The bed in our Romantica room was very comfy and the owner kindly provided us with extra pillows. The AirCon broke whilst we were... More

A lovely peaceful place in a wonderful setting with the garden laid out in terraces with places to sit and relax full of olive trees, nerías, lavenders and roses besides a small pool (4x10 m- only drawback) and with a marvelous view over the landscape. Everything is done with love and care: fine breakfast- good homemade food with herbs and... More
