My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights in October. We wanted a short break in the area and wanted to see Sorrento / Amalfi cost & Pompeii, but we were put off by prices to stay in them resorts. I searched alternative towns in the area and I found Castellammare Di Stabia and the hotel Europa Stabia. It offers significantly better value than staying in Sorrento / Positano for example but it's a great area to explore. There is a train station in the town and the trainline does the whole Naples - Sorrento line. The train tickets are super cheap. It was about 2€ single each to go to Pompeii and only about 3€ to go to Sorrento. It's a really good base to explore from. The hotel is approx. 1 mile from the centre of town but the hotel does offer a shuttle service if needed (we prefer to walk so it was no issue for us). When walking through the backstreets to the hotel I didn't feel unsafe. The locals were really friendly. A few of the locals said hello to me and tried their language skills on us. Really friendly people there and it was nice to see how the locals live. The hotel itself is really good value for the price charged. The beers / cocktails are priced very similar to what you'll pay in town so often you won't have to leave the hotel. The Limoncello spritz was beautiful. The staff were all really nice and friendly. We were welcomed by the owner on arrival and had many conversations with the bar staff / reception. I had read previous reviews that the staff had limited English language skills, this wasn't the case. The English skills were fantastic. I had daily discussions with the owner's son about football. There were a couple of minor negatives about the hotel which i don't want to go into detail about but for the price paid I really can't complain. We would certainly return here.

Well what can I say. This place is a hidden gem off the beaten track of the usual parts of Italy. If you like something out of the way, in the town of stabia, but still close enough to scratch the Naples, Pompei and Sorrento itch, then this is it. The food in the in house restaurant is lovely too. Only downside, is that as with many places, it's up a steep hill, so you will need good mobility and fitness. Either that or be prepared to hire a motorbike or car. The transport links are perfectly functional with the railway line easily linking all the usual tourist places at very reasonable cost. They also operate a shuttle bus service to run you down to the via Nuova station. Also be aware when booking, the pool, the air con and the safe hire are extras. The usual holiday companies don't always tell you this. If this really matters to you then bear this in mind. However other than the safe we were fine in October 22 without air con. Anyway a well run establishment. Would come back again. Paul Beckett

The staff and owner went of out of their way to make our stay enjoyable. Carmine was fantastic for our entire stay; from picking up up at the train station in the shuttle bus to bringing ice to our room, to helping us with the different tours and excursions. Our room was well-appointed and had comfortable beds and pillows. We had nice view of the lights on the hill and fireworks.

never again, for the first time in my life, I saw a hotel charge to use the air conditioning. In our reservation it didn't mention anything that charged for air conditioning, it was only discovered when we needed to use it. The room was super noisy, you could hear your neighbor talking clearly, apart from that outside we stayed in a room right on the curve of the street, where the cars honked all the time!!! a horrible experience.

WHAT DO YOU ANSWER ME? Here, dear Mrs. Rosangela, that UNIQUE EPOCAL sad times we are experiencing… and… despite… AND ... DESPITE what you stayed for 1 (one) night in a nice 4-star hotel, you had breakfast with fresh and excellent products, in clean rooms, with large green spaces, swimming pool with solarium, with tennis court, with charging station for electric vehicles, with the possibility of renting bikes, with the possibility of massages, with the possibility of having a sauna, with the possibility of having excellent meals at our restaurant, with the possibility of parking the car in a private area, with the possibility of being pampered by multilingual staff ... Despite all of the above ... I am sorry to read your review that does not give the right value to our work ... because you are complaining about a paid service that you should have known about before arriving at your travel agent. Why do you penalize US ... and ... not your travel agent with whom you signed the contract? For the room you said was noisy… why didn't you ask to be able to change rooms? I confirm, however to the readers, that this review was written as you said, THREATLY to my receptionist: - For sale. In 2022, if these resentments still exist and NOT DIALOGUE, THIS IS THE REASON WHY THERE IS SO MUCH, SO MUCH EVIL AND HATE IN THE WORLD. ... I AM FOR DIALOGUE AND FOR PEACE ... We booked this hotel for two weeks in July. We wanted to explore the amalfi coast with our own car so were prepared to stay a little out of the way to enable us to do that. It appeared to be a very reasonable price compared to other 4 star hotels which were more central. We planned to have alternative days touring and relaxing days by the pool. However we were unable to do this as the hotel charged 20 euros pp per day to sit near the pool. Essentially would cost Ud 40eurosx 7 days which we felt was unfair as guests. To park our car was 20 euros a day so another 280 euros which was unexpected. To pay 560 euros for services you woukd expect to be provided in a four star accommodation is unacceptable and highly unusual. We then discovered there was a daily charge for air conditioning and use of the fridge. Even when we asked for air conditioning it appeared to not be working most nights and until we relentlessly complained due to being unable to sleep was it rectified. As there was no drinking water we brought in bottles of water. We received complaints that this was forbidden? Once we were exhausted from climbing beautiful Vesuvius and bought a take home pizza from the local shop instead of eating out and it was spoiled by a stern email from management that this not allowed. Our room was very basic with a horrible view of a derelict building and we did asked to be moved. We were told this would be an additional 100 euro per night! We declined. We had breakfast some times but didn’t go mostly due to it being coffee from a machine and plastic cheese and ham. Most unusual for Italian hotels. (We have visited all over Italy more than 20 times). The area is great for a base, the town is lovely abd great location for the cable car. We still had a nice holiday despite the hotel experience but I would not recommend you stay here unless you accept what I have outlined above. I notice the owner Francesco is always defensive in any negative views here and in fact he told us he would give this response if we reviewed on trip advisor. I would encourage him to reflect professionally on honest reviews and he would be better served to evaluate, listen and improve as small tweaks could make this hotel much better. All the charges meant we did not eat it drink in the hotel which we woukd normally have done and gained the hotel more income .

Dear Wendy R, thank you for the review and sharing your experience with the world of the web and thank you for giving me the opportunity to inform readers by borrowing some of your statements and advice that you have given and complete them with my advice: - Do not be fooled by the initial cost = DO NOT STOP ONLY AT THE PRICE BUT READ CAREFULLY THE CONDITIONS OF THE CONTRACT YOU ARE SIGNING When you sign a contract with a third person and in this case your travel agent and / or your tour operator ... you must refer to him ... and ... DO NOT BLAME THE HOTEL MANAGER WHO HAS NO Fault. ..And then I'll add ... if you have visited Italy many times and if you have traveled a lot .. - you will surely know that IT IS FORBIDDEN TO INTRODUCE FOOD AND DRINKS from the outside for reasons of hygiene but above all to protect you from unpleasant inconveniences of "malaise" ... For your other observations .. I leave all readers free ... to read the POSITIVE reviews that talk about us, about me .. - cleaning, our breakfast, our gardens, our swimming pool, our service at the pool bar, our kitchen, our tennis court (FREE), our rooms with private terrace, our air conditioning system (controlled directly by the customer), our large parking lot (video surveillance, fenced, private, monitored day and night), our excellent (free) WI-FI network, our electric bicycles, our electric vehicle charging column, possibility of anti-stress massages, the possibility of booking taxis, booking / buying tickets for Capri, Pompeii, Vesuvius, Ischia, Procida, Naples, Amalfi, Positano, Ravello, Scavi di Stabia, shuttle service to the station, newspapers in foreign language (free), our rooms all furnished with TV (with channels in all languages), safes in all rooms, our gazebos (special places outside where breakfast and dinner are served) .. and .. finally WHERE WE ALWAYS TALK ABOUT OUR EDUCATION, KINDNESS, PROFESSIONALISM and KNOWLEDGE OF ALL LANGUAGES. - P.S. = the water that comes out of our taps IS DRINKABLE (just ask for ...) Thank you for giving me the opportunity to prove POSITIVE .... indeed ... STILL POSITIVE .. after the terrible moment of COVID ... and .. today .. with the terrible moment of "winds of war" .. that grips us and slows down the economy WORLD. Good life to all of US ... Greetings from the beautiful city of Stabiae .. Stayed at this hotel for a week in August to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. Booked a transfer from the airport. Taxi driver struggled to find the hotel. Checked in, staff very welcoming. Was told there was an extra charge for AC at 10 euros a day. We had booked through Love holidays & were told it was not included in the price we paid. Later also finding out that there was a charge for the use of the swimming pool. 10 euros for 2 hours. Never had to pay an extra charge for using the pool at any 4* hotel before. Very disappointed ☹️. This hotel is never a 4* the rooms are very basic but clean. The cleaning staff work hard as do the restaurant staff especially Umberto & Gilo. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Always smiling. The breakfast was disappointing. Ok if you like cake for breakfast. Pancake maker was sub standard. The fruit salad was out of a tin. The coffee maker was poor. The orange juice was watered down. Some mornings there was no bread. The fried eggs were cold & not at all appetising. No decaf tea or coffee either. Francesco the owner was always to be seen asking if all ok. Even came to dining room one morning to greet everyone. Shuttle car to train station was ok at 2 euros each per journey but only small. Don’t use the taxi that they recommend- Ivan as we were charged €20 for a 10 minute journey. Never came back to collect us so had to walk back to hotel. It is a 20 minute walk downhill on a busy road to get into Castellamare Di stabia. Remember you have to walk back up & there are no taxis! Very disappointed with our stay. Won’t be returning!

Dear Angela R, thank you for sharing your experience with the web and thank you for praising the work of my staff and thank you for appreciating the cleanliness that reigns everywhere ... thank you for appreciating the breakfast cakes ... thank you for giving me the opportunity to reply and inform readers who: - Your reservation was made with a Tour Operator who had all the news and knew the conditions of stay that perhaps he did not send you; - The extras are in demand and are well known to travelers; - Our breakfast buffet is very appreciated by all guests because it is always well prepared and full of fresh, sweet and salty products; - The breakfast staff is always present and every request is processed without any problem and without disturbance (as you too have noticed). - WHY DID YOU NOT ASK FOR BREAD, TEA, DECAFFEINATED COFFEE WHEN YOU NOTICE IT WAS MISSING ?; why do you write it in the review one month after your stay? - Our "paid" shuttle service operates at fixed times and at other times it is possible to book taxis and we have never noticed any problems; - Mr. Did Ivan have your reservation for the return? Did you have contact with him? Did you call him? Why do you write it in the review? Is it the fault of the hotel if the taxi you contacted directly did not come? - Our "paid" shuttle service offers a round trip service: HAVE YOU BOOKED YOUR RETURN? I'm sorry to read that you were disappointed .. and .. I am also aware that you did not write that: - On the occasion of your 25th anniversary I offered you a drink..prosecco; - On the occasion of your 25th anniversary, you received free entry to the pool; I also confirm that I am sorry not to have been able (as per your request) to give you a superior room "free" as you wanted (your booking was for a STANDARD room) and I am also sorry to reiterate that it is forbidden to introduce "food and drinks" from the external as my staff told you. The next anniversary call directly to the hotel and let us know before coming ... I will be happy to personally follow your reservation and be able to have a drink together at the bar. Good life. Greetings from the beautiful city of Stabiae .. Francesco Donnarumma/Owner and staff of Europa Stabia Hotel - Relax and dolce vita..

My friend and I had an amazing break and really enjoyed our stay. The family-run hotel is nice and the staff are wonderfully friendly, they made us feel incredibly welcome. We enjoyed day trips to Pompeii, Sorrento & Naples via the train which was easy and ridiculously cheap to use. The hotel is based at the top of a small hill and is about a 20 minute walk into the town, so bare in mind the walk back up-hill, however the hotel does offer a shuttle for 2 euros if you prefer. We were surprised that you had to pay extra to use the pool, however it is reasonably cheap enough. We spent most of our days out visiting towns, cities and sites so this didn't really bother us as we didn't really have the time. Francesco and his daughter are wonderfully kind people who are passionate about ensuring their guests enjoy their stay. We look forward to seeing them again. The hotel is great value and we will highly recommend to our friends and family. James

We stayed at Europa Stabia at the end of July. First of all, let me say that these people, from the owner to everyone else who works within this hotel are the most lovely people you will ever meet. Kind, considerate and go out of their way to help and assist. If I were rating them, it would be no less than 5 stars. However, I feel that it is only fair to let travellers know that there were things about this hotel which we were not aware of before our arrival. Firstly, the cost of using the onsite pool during the week is 25 euros per day per person and includes lunch. At the weekend this increases to 30 euros per day per person. I was shocked that this was the case as every hotel I have ever stayed in, have never charged extra to use the pool on site. Another point to mention is that as the hotel is not central, although the hotel have a transfer which you are charged 1.50 euros per person to use, this is only available until 9.00pm at night, you are then left with 2 options. The walk is far too far to go into the town and if you call a taxi, this will set you back by 25 euros each way, even though the trip takes a maximum of 10 minutes. Other than these points, would recommend this hotel.

We had a nice stay. Breakfast is good and differs a little bit each day, lots of choice. The restaurant has lovely food aswell, though less choice. There are two staff people who serve. In the morning they walk around during breakfast. At first it felt very much like patrol because they kept checking everything, but later on we got used to it. They asked in the morning how and what we were going to do. They are very friendly! The staff from the hotel are nice and willing to help you go somewhere. There is always someone there. Some of them don't speak english very well but they always put in effort to understand you. When accidentally a plushe from our room was taken away with the cleaning service, the staff tried to help but their actions were limitied. The hotel owner however took direct action on it when he heard it and made sure we got it back. He is a very generous and friendly man, at all times. We are grateful that he took us seriously and we got it back. The rooms are very nice. Every day the cleaners clean the rooms and change sheets and towels. The rooms are noisy, though we had no problems with this. Only our neighbours did. The swimming pool cost 5 for 2 hours swim, 10 for 4 hours and 20 for a whole day. The surrounding mountains make it a beautiful view. The hotel has a shuttle service to a train station nearby (Via Nocera). You can just ask for it and the arrange. Its only 1.50 for each person. You can also walk like 20 minutes to the station Castellamare Di Stabia. The train takes you to Napolis or Sorrento in like half an hour. Its beautiful and nice shopping there. But its really complex to understand the times and platform from the stations. Many times we took the wrong ones even though we checked. While there visiting Pompeii, Vensuvius mountain and waterparc Valle Dell'Orso is nice and easy by train. The centre of Castellamare is 16 minutes walk from the hotel (though it is on a mountain so keep in mind when going back). Shops are open from 4.30 and most food places 7.30. The city starts to live around those times. The sand of the beach has dark sand and is polluted a bit, but still nice to take a swim. This is behind the shops. Most people in Castellemare don't speak english very well and menu's are not translated, as if they are not used to a lot of tourists. Google translate and pointing helps a lot ;). We enjoyed our stay at the hotel :).
