Unfortunately my time at the Grand Hotel was anything but grand. We were sent to this hotel after our flights were canceled for 4 days. Although they gave us three meals a day, that is where the hospitality stopped. We were treated like second hand citizens where they would just slap food in front of us without giving us any options or telling us what it is. They made very clear that we would have to pay extra if we wanted anything else to drink besides water (even coffee) and charged us 10 Euro per person if we wanted to sit at the pool. They grouped all 18 of us that had our flights canceled together and made us eat at communal tables where we were unable to eat with our own family. The service was beyond rude to the point where I don’t belief I have ever experienced this kind of treatment before in my life. Overall, service 0/10. Now to the room disaster.. Our first room we received was crawling with ants everywhere and when we told the maid about the issue she simply sprayed them and left it as an ant cemetery. After the spraying did not cease and the ants began to crawl all over our beds and in our suitcases they finally gave us a new room. Room number 2 the shower did not drain and would spill over and flood the bathroom but compared to the ants we did not complain. Then the third morning we get a call that the AC unit has broken and water is dripping from the ceiling. We are now moved to a third room. However, we needed to leave our second room and wait four hours before our new (3rd!!) room would be ready. Rooms 0/10. The building was beautiful and the chandeliers were outstanding but unfortunately behind the beauty of the exterior the service and hospitality was incredibly lacking.…
Sumptuous building perfectly located for business and leisure. Easy reach to railway station and to the King Palace "Reggia di Caserta" used as set in Star Wars for Naboo Palace! Delightful staff friendliness and professional touch, from the very first welcome at reception to the bar for a well prepared espresso coffee, to the care of the restaurant staff, ready to help with a choice on or out the menu. The touch of hospitality that let you say: I'll be back again. NABOO SPA: after a day traveling South I indulged in some rest at the Spa. Despite being a little late afternoon the staff made my dream of two hour full relax into the magic atmosphere of wet and dry, with the final touch of the different temperatures pool. Final touch a massage took away the long and sustainable travel by train. Flawless wi-fi enables you to be back in touch with the world, into a very nice and comfy room. Bathroom with all amenities, very nice. Breakfast, lunch and dinner: try them all, you won't be disappointed, and enjoy the "espresso" with some delicacies in the salon under the gorgeous glass decorated roof! Grazie mille, a presto! Recht herzlichen Dank, bis bald!…
Its quite possible what they say on their website is true and i bet the gym and spa are nice. We would not know. We arrived and left pretty quickly within a few hours as it was not at all what we expected but rather a very flat and dissapointing start to a weeks holiday. What they dont say is that the hotel is in an industrial zone, that it is surrounded by very busy roads on all sides , that you can not walk into the town centre. It is def not a family hotel. It might suit people seeking a stop over or those that want to use it as a base for going elsewhere, in which case you must have a car.
The service was disappointing as it was not in line with a 4 stars hotel. This year the grand salon was not offered for the dancing events and shows. A smaller place in -1 level was given which had inadequate air conditioning and ventilation. I strongly advice that the organizers reconsider using this hotel as the tango festival venue, unless the service changed as it was in the previous years. The lunch and dinner service was extremely slow and the personnel was disorganized - waiting times for a fixed menu was approx. 40 minutes. The availability of chairs for children was poor. The cleaning in the common areas was suboptimal and the waste bin in my room was not emptied during the 4 days I stayed. Coffee, cookies and water was not replaced during my stay. The hotel offers international plugs for visitors, however these were not available. The swimming pool could not be used and the reason for that was not provided. The internet was most of the time not available. The only positive note was the SPA, but it seems that it belongs to another company.…
The welcome at the reception was nonexistent. We were the only ones at the desk. The receptionists didn’t even look up or greet us until we said hi ourselves. Ugh. I mean, it’s not a luxury hotel but friendliness should cost nothing. I must have stayed at hundreds of hotels for business, but this unwelcoming attitude was pretty extreme compared to 95% of the places I‘ve stayed at. The room has seen better days - the wood furniture was scratched and nicked - it looked like old by-the-hour motel decor, circa 1998, kind of nasty. The mattress turned me into a hunchback for 3 days after a single night sleeping on it. The walls seemed freshly painted, but the curtains, bedspread and carpet were scary. 5 stars for the towels. The fridge was not even on yet when we got there, so careful if you need to keep medication chilled. There was a screaming infant next door who kept us awake through the thin walls. Why, for the love of god, would you put people in adjacent rooms in a mostly empty hotel? Breakfast was average, regular 3 Star European hotel packaged stuff, rolls, fruit, etc, plus some cakes and pies butchered into irregular pieces. Typical gelatinous yoghurt. It’s a shame because the beautiful main hall tricks you into thinking it might actually be a nice hotel. We might have tolerated everything being mediocre at best if the staff had shown a minimum level of friendliness. My advice is to have a drink in the main hall but stay overnight in a different hotel for sure!…
It is the first time that I stay in here. The hotel makes you feel that you are in a palace. The lady, Eleonora, who is at the reception is very positive and made a very warm welcome. The rooms are big.
We had a great time at the Vanvitelli and this was helped by ANTONELLA's professional and courteous manner which made our stay pleasurable and fun....nothing was too much trouble for her. We would certainly recommend to our friends and business associates. The only drawback was the internet connection, which was woeful at the best of times and this needs seeing to but apart from this, highly recommended and thanks once more ANTONELLA for your stewardship....
Oldish place, even with an air of grandeur due to the recall of the Reggia. Some kind of a ‘cathedral in the desert’ for its position but welcoming and with very good meals. Rooms are very spacious and with various levels of quality. Strong Wi-Fi, kind personnel. Did not try the pool but it looks very pleasant. You need a pickup service or a car to visit the Palace or the Old Town
Nice hotel, comfy room, very good beds, the only downside was you need to pay for the towel when you go to the pool, 5 euro. You are not allowed to bring a towel from the room. I found this very strange, never before I experienced this,
We enjoyed our stay at the hotel. We primarily wanted a central location to visit various sites around Naples, and a place with a SPA. We had easy access to the highway, and the SPA was very professional and well kept. Dinner at the restaurant was delicious, but there there are also some small restaurants nearby. The hotel is in an industrial area, but once you enter the parking lot with your car, you are OK. Breakfast was substantial.
