We are so happy that we chose Hotel la Genzianella for our recent holiday as it is perfect in every way. More than a hotel, it really felt like a warm & inviting home away from home and one we loved returning to at the end of our busy days. Everyone was friendly, kind and helpful and all staff members were very service oriented. As others have mentioned, the food is really a highlight with delicious breakfasts & dinners daily. The bar area is also very cozy and comfortable for drinks throughout the day. Lovely touches are seen all over the property, games for children, books to borrow, backpacks for hiking trips, real candles lit every evening & gorgeous alpine decor. This elegant & charming hotel truly deserves all the glowing reviews that it receives and I highly recommend a stay here. We hope to return very soon!

We booked at La Genzianella because it was recommended to us by Megan from Bella Vita Travels and it certainly did not disappoint. Firstly, the hotel is well located in the centre of Bormio and importantly, the rooms and public spaces are kept exceptionally clean with very stylish touches. We loved our room (travelling with 2 adullts, 2 kids plus another family) as we had separate bedrooms and a lovely big modern bathroom. The highlight of our stay was the food. It was exceptional. We had booked "mezza pensione" (breakfast and dinner included) and every single night at dinner, and then every single morning at breakfast, we would comment on how amazing the food was. Quality food (think 5 star PLUS PLUS PLUS), wonderful service and they catered to families brilliantly. Our kids also participated in the local mountain bike school campus which was great.

This has been one of our best experiences ever in a hotel. There are just too much positives to highlight so here's a selection: the great food (at breakfast and especially the great selection for diner), the bike service, the spacious room, the picknick for our return trip... But best of all were the people working a the hotel: everyone of them had a smile (in their eyes, they were wearing mouth masks) and a kind word/suggestion/solution for everything we asked or requested. From the ladies cleaning the rooms, to the people serving in the restaurant, to the ladies manning the reception: they were all wonderful. It takes a big heart to be so strong in these difficult times. They made us forget the corona virus and made us very happy guests. Thank you for this and we're looking forward to revisit next year!

We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel La Genzianella. I chose it originally because it was top rated by Trip Advisor and was still thrilled that it passed expectations. The hotel has been newly renovated in lovely alpine style. The entry and bar area are welcoming and a great location for evening drinks or a cup of the delicious herbal tea on offer. Rooms are clean, functional and were serviced beautifully each day. The multi-generations of the family who operate the hotel ensure it is run to perfection - all staff were friendly, unfailingly helpful and an absolute pleasure to deal with. We loved our healthy breakfasts, which included local butters and jams as well as just about anything else you could possibly want. Dinners in the dining room were also great value for excellent three courses. We felt so lucky we chose to stay at this hotel. An easy 200m walk to the main gondola in the morning, with (the future) Olympic downhill bringing you up home in the afternoon, it was also well located. A highlight for us was doing the short day trip to Santa Caterina for excellent skiing on uncrowded slopes finished by an afternoon trip up to the thermal Roman baths. All recommended and booked for us by hotel staff. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

I travel through Italy and France taking friends on cycling adventures every other year. For the past three trips we ALWAYS stay at Genzianella. This warm, family run hotel has everything a serious cyclist would look for - bicycle garage, massage, the best breakfast and dinners one can imagine... and of course direct access to cycling paradise. Centrally located and really chic, I always feel welcomed and that I am staying at a special place when we stay.
