Stayed here for a weeks skiing. Overall very happy with the hotel and resort, we had a balcony room which was clean, spacious and had good views. Agree with the comments about hard beds but that's the only complaint, and it wasn't that bad. All of the staff were excellent, especially the young waiter that looked after us all week.... More

Bardonecchia is a gem resort , great family skiing resort Hotel Rive is well run , clean and excellent food and service. Highly recommended and we will be back next year. Located on the slopes , so close to the lifts it gives you freedom of coming back to the hotel any time. Rooms are spacious, light and bathrooms as... More

We stayed here for a week's skiing during half term. The outside appearance is a bit dull, grey stone, but the welcome was warm and friendly. Our room was less traditional alpine, more travel lodge. There was a good en suite with plenty of towels and plenty of wardrobe space and sockets in the room. There weren't tea and coffee... More

Great location for slopes, great food (didn't need lunch as we're half board) very clean. Outside areas need tidying, as there are broken slabs and un grouted tiles (victim of global financial crisis I guess) spa area is good, but hammam broken all week. Room was too hot, and you can't change it in the room. Shame it doesn't have... More

Great Ski Hotel in the best location of Bardonecchia, very close to the slopes and the lift. It also located inside the village. The reception is very helpful and the dinner is very good. It also has a complete and fresh brakefast and the SPA is very complete as well as it has a pool, turk and roman bath. The... More

I booked a larger balcony room that overlooked the slopes for a long ski weekend late January. Room was fine if a little pricey. Sound proofing was not great. Plenty of kids running riot in the bar! Main disappointment was breakfast - very limited and really poor quality - not what I was expecting from a '4 star' hotel! It... More

We have just come back from a 5 night mini ski trip at hotel rive with our 4 grown up kids. It is a shame that there was no snow (saved by snow cannons on about 11 key runs including the Olympic run) - and that now we are home it is snowing ......only 24 h later. Also that I... More

On first impressions the Hotel Rive is a very nice property but it is clear that it is not worthy of 4 stars. From the reception area through to the dining room, it is just a very good 3 star. I suspect that the recently refurbished spa area has gained it its 4 stars, however this does not have a... More

We visited at Easter 29th March to 5th April - this was a move from the hotel over the road that had closed earlier - both are run by the same company. We were given an upgrade (as were all Neilson customers) that we got a free bottle of wine each evening and free use of the pool and sauna.... More

On our recent skiig holiday, the original hotel closed a week early so our party was moved to the Rive. Excellent location - on the slopes, if they had any snow. The use of snow cannons seemed to be reserved for use only in Merezet which was shame. Staff in hotel were very friendly. Good choice of evening menu, although... More
