We have recently returned from a week at The Sportsman Hotel. Wow, what a hotel. The location is brilliant, it's in a quiet location about 15 mins walk from both Garda and Bardololino but slightly nearer Garda. This walk is along a really pleasant foot/cycle path along the lake. We walked there on numerous occasions and it was a very... More

"Had a fantastic 10 days first class, staff were excellent accommodation and a lovely setting. Hoping to return in 2016. Lovely walks, restful and a great trips to the Dolomites and Venice, the only disappointment was Cameron the Thomson Rep was useless"

Standout features are the friendly, courteous and efficient staff, splendid 5 course evening dinner and most convenient location - close to but not swamped by the attractive towns of Bardolino and Garda. The visitor can relax by the lake, stroll to Bardolino and, over coffee watch the world go by: or take ferries (rather than buses) to other attractive and... More

Just returned from a weeks trip to lake Garda based at the Sportsman. Had a really great time. Good location, good lakeside walks. Great staff and very good food. We had a lake view room and half board. I have MS and pre arranged that they would lend me a wheelchair for the duration of our stay......which they did free... More

From the time you check in you are made to feel that this is your home for the duration of your visit and nothing is too much trouble. All the amenities are explained and the benefit of a free shuttle bus which runs to the center of Bardolino. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in the restaurant presided over by Michaila,... More

We were looking forward to our visit to Lake Garda, and the short stay at Sportsman Hotel. The check-in went well and the car-park was adequate. We went for a walk along the lakeside in the direction of Garda passing tranquil camp sites, but also music bars on the beach which were awful. It was pretty hot, and Garda just seemed... More

Dear guest, we are very sorry to read your negative review on our hotel and the services offered, especially as far as our location is concerned. Certain critical comments, e.g. regarding sand in the lift and a hazy view are not even worth a comment, but rather evoke an incredulous smile. The hotel has a quiet location by the lake... More

We spent another wonderful week at the Sportsman at the end of June, having previously stayed there in 2009. We had requested a high floor room overlooking the lake and this is exactly what we were given. The room was spacious, clean and fortunately the A/C worked well as the temperatures were well into the 30s. The hotel is quiet,... More

Just returned from a weeks holiday at the Sportsman Hotel on Lake Garda. I cant praise the staff enough for their friendliness and quality of service. With out doubt the best value for money break we have had in a very long time. The hotel is ideally situated between Bardolino and Garda and either is reached via a lovely walk... More

Our fourth stay since 2005, the Sportsman gets better each time. First class service, excellent food and a great location on the lake front mid-way between Garda & Bardolino make this a perfect base, with both towns & Lazise accessible by foot along the lake shore. The staff are polite and attentive, and making sure their guests enjoy their stay... More
