This has been the worst experience ever had on vacation. the hotel is supposed to provide a shuttle in order to go to the beach.. well, nobody tells you prior to checking in that it is a 40-min drive and there’s no bar or any service such as toilets . Therefore, you’re supposed to spend time at the pool in the hotel - however the capacity of sunbeds is way less than the guests accommodated by the property, so it’s almost impossible to find a spot (also, there’s lot of “VIPs” during the month of August, so there’s preference in pleasing them first and prioritizing their needs). from the first moment, we entered the room, the wifi was not accessible and we called reception several times. they lied telling us someone was on their way to assist. Long story short, the “IT guy” showed up after 1 hr and a half that we kept calling. The room is nothing special, not what you expect from a 5 star property and what they make you pay per night. Also, out of 6 nights we were there, we got waken up 3 nights by people shouting in corridors or slamming doors or drunk guests singing and chatting loudly. the property is the dirtiest you could ever find, bottles and glasses from the day are still there on bar’s tables in the evening after you come back from dinner. If you happen to walk through corridors, you’ll also find dirty plates with food still there that have never been taken away. The hotel staff is just terrible, rude and they have an excuse for anything you complain about. They’re super slow, one night we asked for a bottle of water (yes, they do not even manage to refill what it’s finished in the room!!!) and waited for 1 hour before getting it - excuse was that they were understaffed hence only one person was covering the shift. There’s just no service, no maintenance AT ALL. Things are broken or just not working properly (like the sliding door in the picture) and most likely will stay that way for the next 2 years. Another story should be made on the parking.. the parking barrier never opens/closes. You just have to call the hotel every time you need to get in or out and they’ll answer rudely claiming the cars’ plate is registered so no problem should be raised. next thing you know is you’ll have to wait 20 mins before the bar actually raises and lets you in/out. Experience to forget and the hotel should close, hope nobody will spend anymore money for absence of service, but nest of rudeness only!!!

Just spent 4 days at this hotel. The location is beautiful, food amazing, the staff are truly 1st class and cannot do enough for you. I am very surprised by some of the negative reviews on here. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel - we are already planning our trip back next year!

This lovely hotel overlooks the beautiful marina at Poltu Quatu. After reading other reviews, we agree that the check in process took far too long. We had a nice room overlooking the far side of the pool. Due to late season and being post Covid the resort was very quiet with nothing much open. We were told at reception on check in that we didn't need to book the Tanit restaurant but on arrival at the restaurant this seemed to be a problem. They did however, manage to find us a table. The restaurant was very very expensive but the food was good. Would recommend car hire as the location is a bit remote.

Dear Guest, thank you for your comment, the feedback of our Giests helps us to check and maintain the standard of services, therefore we surely take note of the issue at the check in, although, for the Italian regulation, we do need to take some time to register Guests on arrival. We inform yuo that we have an application where you may pre-check before arrival. Overall we are glad that you enjoyed the stay in Poltu Quatu and hope to see you back here in a near future. After reading the other reviews of this hotel I was very skeptical, however after staying 4 days I would definitely return. All the staff were friendly and helpful, the service was exceptional. The shuttle to the beach is a great bonus (you get sun loungers and umbrella included). We visited other beaches and parking was £7.50 plus sun lounger rental so it does add up if you want to explore. You definitely need a car if you are staying at this hotel in off season, as there are limited dining options, we stayed in September (if you are a big meat eater then definitely check out Aruana churascaria). The pool area was clean, and breakfast was lovely looking out over the marina- due to COVID it was not self serve. I do have to agree with some of the other reviews in saying that for a 5* hotel the furniture is very dated. The pool bar is also exceptionally expensive, €20 for a cocktail is too steep even for a 5*. We ended up going to the supermarket which is a 3 min drive away and having drinks on the balcony instead. Im not sure if rates were cheaper because of Covid, but for the price I feel like the hotel is worth it, it's in a gorgeous area and is a great base to explore Porto Cervo, the amazing beaches around costa Smeralda, and only 30 mins to Palau harbour if you want to go to La Maddalena.
