Our room was your usual run down crappy room that they charge heaps for in the ski season and should be fixed up in the off season. There isn't a room fridge so we had to get some ice across the road as they didn't have any an put it in the bathroom sink to keep some drinks cold. It had a big crack and hole in the sink that then flodden the floor. Come on do some maintenance on the place. The towels in the bathroom were like sandpaper and you got a great exfoliate whilst drying yourself. The breakfast was well not much. Nothing hot and cold coffee out of the push button machine. The managers were quite pleasant. All the reviews no doubt are based on a cheap place during the ski season but there is much better around. Its no more than a backpackers sleepover.
The hotel is quite basic, not having anything specific - only small coffee shop. It is close to slopes, about 5min walk in the ski boots. Parking without any problem, local shops nearby. Hotel staff is very friendly.
We spent 4 days at the Hotel Italia in wonderful Aprica. The hotel is nicely located, on the main road and near to the lifts (5 minutes on foot). Our room was renovated recently, and was very cozy with lots of wood. The bathroom was spacious and modern. The food was excellent, and we enjoyed a lot of traditional Italian and “Valtellina” recipes. The staff was helpful and friendly.
