Exactly as described by Duncan S. There is such a generous spirit about the hotel, the staff just couldn't be more helpful and friendly, and the daily free snacks (and all the food served) are delicious, if bad for the waistline. If you have a room on the front, you can enjoy the beautiful view across the lake. I was allocated a room in the eaves, which meant I couldn't stand up to shower - I was given another room which became available after one night, without any fuss. If I have an criticism at all (actually, like Duncan S, I think it would be quite nice to have a safe in the room) it is that Massimo is no longer behind the bar in the evenings; service in the bar was a bit patchy this time. I have been before and cannot wait to go again.

I slept in a sister property but had all meals here and had use of all public facilities.

This is an excellent hotel a short (50-60m) downhill walk from the main village area. It's a beautiful location, overlooking the lake, and a first floor bar and terrace makes full us of that. The staff is top notch, and all public areas are of a very good standard. Despite being a very large group, the food was excellent, Breakfast was buffet, with everything from bacon (or at least an Italian variation thereof) and scrambled eggs, through full continental including cakes and pastries. Dinner included a buffet salad bar and a three course meal which, for the 7 days we were there, would be difficult to fault.

Perhaps the only complaint - and in fairness this is part due to the size of the group, the bar area was a little cramped. Though the staff is professional and friendly, and the drinks extremely good value.

The boot room (and games room and spa) are on the lake level, and a courtesy bus provides transport to and from the ski lift.

There was a wide choice of hot and cold food for breakfast. Evening meals were pretty good too. The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a free shuttle service from the hotel to the gondola station mornings and afternoons.

Stopped here with a large group (70+ people) in late Jan. Really nice hotel with good food for both breakfast and dinner. Bar are really pleasant. The hotel provides a minibus service to the main lift which was very efficient. Only downsides were a few nights the water for showers wasn't as hot as it could have been and there was no real orange juice for breakfast.

I stay at the Sporthotel Europa for a week’s vacation in Alleghe, Italy. I loved the hotel, the owners, the staff, and the whole town! I will rate Sporthotel Europa with 150% Excellence in Service!

I had the pleasure of meeting the family who owned and operated the hotel. The staff member who welcomed us upon arrival was Alessandro, the son of the owner. He was polite and welcomed us with a smile. Daniella, Alessandro’s mother works in the office also. Thais, Alessandro’s wife is the masseuse at the Hotel’s gorgeous spa facility and also a Yoga Instructor. She is an excellent masseuse and yoga instructor full of kindness. We practiced yoga indoor and outdoor. Other activities included paddle-boating and hiking along the Dolomite mountains. My room was nice with a balcony overlooking the lake and the Dolomite mountains in the horizon.

The food served at the hotel restaurant was excellent! The Buffet breakfast was served with plenty of choices. The cheeses and pastries were the best I’ve ever tasted! The Dinners were equally as good! The meats, vegetables, and desserts were made with fresh ingredients. And of course, the wines were outstanding!

We spent four nights at the Sporthotel Europa in Alleghe and we could not have been happier. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and large. The food was diverse and of high quality. The ski room and ski bus was very convenient. We really enjoyed the town and the ski mountain and look forward to staying at the Sporthotel Europa again!

Stayed for a week's ski trip as part of a larger group.
Food excellent - decent choice of hot and cold food for breakfast and wonderful 4 courses for evening meals - really filling high quality food. Very nice snacks on the bar in the afternoon when back from the slopes.
Staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. Really useful shuttle bus up to the main ski lift and back, as it's a little walk up a cobbled hill if not!!
Excellent facilities, room was clean and comfortable with plenty of room and good bathroom. Wellness area very nice too.
Slight con in no safe in the room or tea and coffee making, but didn't overly bother us.
Would highly recommend and will return I'm sure!

The hotel is ideally located on the shore of the lake, off the main busy steet and about 500 m from the cable car to Col del Baldi. It is the only four-star hotel in Alleghe, although with its equipment and range of services, there is a lot of controversy about the number of stars. Our weekly stay was booked from October last year, so we were surprised by the rather low level of our room suitable for rich dwarfs. The room 307 was very small with a sloping low ceiling, so we often hung in the head with a low ceiling. Room facilities were really Spartan, in the bathroom was difficult to take a shower standing . Otherwise not worthy of services that should have 4 starś hotel. A beautiful view of the lake from balcony .
The cold welcoming at the reception should have warned me. They only showed us where to park the car and where the breakfast would be and handed us the room key. No more information.
Dinner and breakfast were standard, I missed more variability and more fresh fruit (they were actually apples). Chefs would definitely give the highest mark.
It was worse with the staff in the dining room. In addition to a very nice young waitress, the team leader can not even serve wine. According to the wine list we ordered branded Italian wine of a certain vintage (other than Italian wines do not offer), the head of the restaurant team brought a bottle, opened it and sniffed the plug and it ended up. However, instead of the vintage 2008 , she brought the vintage 2014. We found this only after she left when we poured the wine. How much did we account for this bottle after the final bill of residence . How much we charged for the bottle we found from the final statement.
Also, the level of services provided does not correspond to four stars. The hotel usually provides basic weather information. When we planned an alpine hike in the Civetta area, I asked the reception what the next day's forecast was. We have received general information about the Dolomites weather forecast, so we preferred to go to the Tourist Information Center. We received specific data for the next day for the Civetty area. In addition, I must say that it was the forecast that came out exactly.
On the wellnes level of the hotel, I can only note that whirlpool was charged and otherwise it was recommended to visit the wellness center at their alla Posta Hotel in Caprille, which is about 3 km from the hotel.
In the end, however, there was a shock when the final closing account submitted was 29% higher than the initially agreed amount with Booking.com. This was explained by the fact that they provided us a higher class room. But that has never been said to us, and I can not imagine a worse room. We have not experienced their apology for this outrage. We expected much more from a 4 starś hotel! Only the wonderful weather and beautiful tours around Civetta and the pleasant atmosphere in a number of mountain chalets make our holiday so pleasant that the hotel's problems will be forgotten over time.

After a few days in Venice, we drove north a short few hours and stayed at the Sporthotel Europa for two nights. Driving into the charming town of Alleghe, surrounded by the Dolomites and the bright green water of Lake Alleghe was such a welcome and relaxing change from the crowds, heat and constant activity of Venice (as nice as it was!), and the staff at the hotel were very helpful in getting us situated.

Our room on the second floor had a beautiful view of the lake with a small balcony with several chairs and flower boxes, and the room had a mini-fridge, two comfortable beds, a nicely appointed bathroom (perhaps showing a bit of age) and several cabinets for our belongings. The location was perfect, with the town just up the hill where we could get local wine and snacks at the grocery store (and even a fresh water fountain to fill up our bottles), and several restaurants just a minute or two away. We had breakfast both days in the hotel, which consisted of a nice spread of meats, cheeses, breads, local cakes, and sweet breads in the dining room. The staff was very gracious and helpful in answering questions about activities in the area. We unfortunately had to miss out on taking the local chairlift up to Mount Civetta to do so some hiking, as it was raining one of the days, but did drive up to the Falzarego Pass about 30 minutes north our first day there to hike around the Refugio Lagazoui area of the Dolomites...definitely the highlight of our trip!

The hotel also has a small spa area with a relaxing room, sauna and steam room, as well as tennis table and some older arcarde games, all on the lower level. We rented a paddleboat for an hour (10EU) and went over to the small swimming beach which has a cute tiki bar and tables. So beautiful!

We would have no hesitation staying at this lovely hotel again, and just wished we had spent more time in the area!
