Take our word for it -- reserve early and be sure to book the Villa Suite. It's a little more expensive but well worth it. Nice sized bedroom and bath and a living room with sunken jacuzzi tub. But the best part is the gigantic terrace overlooking the property and the nighttim

The room was spectacular It took me a while but I opened our window not expecting much because it was night time. Much to my surprise the view of the temples, brightly lit at night were amazingly close and breathtaking. The bathroom was fabulous, spacious with a beautiful lar

We had a great room (303) with a view looking out at the Temple of Concordia. There are better rooms but they were not available.
The grounds are nicely maintained and the pool well maintained.
Dining on La Terrazza is very nice (because of the view) but service was a little sp

We stayed for two nights at the Villa Athena. Our room with a balcony looking at the Greek Temple was spectacular. We loved the bar and treasure our time sipping wine and under the stars and staring at the temples. The bar tender was great and when we asked if we could have a

The city of Agrigento itself is nothing special. Adjacent to the city are the best preserved Greek Temples in the world. This hotel is right next to them and wonderful.

Great rooms, great restaurant. Five star luxury.

I recently stayed at the hotel and posted my review. I notice that I am not the only reviewer commenting on the the lack of sound-proofing between the walls. However, each time the hotel spokesperson makes a false rebuttal to the review stating that the walls ARE soundproof. They are not. One can hear everything from the next room. Can others who have stayed here please voice their experiences as to noise? To simply deny it makes the management look deceptive and close-minded. They should spend a night in their own rooms and learn the truth.
Yes, I agree that the rooms could have better soundproofing. I occupied a room off the lounge and there was a large group waiting to take a tour and we could hear everything going on. We also did not like the restaurant. Way over rated!!!! Would NEVER recommend this hotel.

For those of you who have driven from one coast to the other in Sicily is it easy and is it safe? Also, has anyone done any research on their Sicilian ancestors, other than the ancestry website, any suggestions of how to go about this and who to contact? Many thanks.
The drive is easy. The roads are excellent. If you have a chance, go to Piazza Armenia, which is in the middle of the country, for the remarkable Roman floor tiles.

Had anyone used tripadvisor to book it! The price seems too good to be true
Yes and DON'T DO IT!! i booked 2 weeks ago, full booking cost paid upfront and the hotel has confirmed that they have no record of the booking or rooms available (nor do they work with this company). THEY ALSO TOLD ME THAT OTHER GUESTS HAVE ARRIVED WITH MONEY PAID BUT NO BOOKING WITH THE HOTEL! I have exchanged several e-mails with CANCELON (agents) and TRIPADVISOR with no response or answers other than "holding statements". So, they have my money, and I have no hotel, and 2 weeks later no apology, refund or explanation. Is this FRAUD?? I SUGGEST TRIPADVISOR DECIDE WHAT IS MORE IMPORTANT, THEIR REPUTATION OR PROMOTING DIRECT BOOKINGS UNDER "THEIR NAME"

"Previous reviews said rooms were disappointing so I must assume that there are different classes of rooms I would check before reserving"
"Make sure your room has a view of the temples. And a balcony."
"Expensive, but amazing, ask for the Villa Suite. See photo below."
"Rooms with a view of the temples are obviously preferable"
