Fantastic setting for this baglio on a ridge below agrigento. To the north our bedroom had a view from the window straight out to the valley of temples with agrigento behind that so was wonderful at night with the temples floodlit and equally impressive in the sunshine the following morning. Other rooms face south so would overlook the courtyard and... More

Nice hotel in a rural setting that is close to the temples, the ocean and also the city of agrigento. Self park in front of the hotel. Beautiful courtyard. The rooms were quaint and clean. The wifi was weak but we didn't spend much time in the room. Great breakfast. Very central to all spots in the area.

We made the journey west from the Baroque towns to see the Ancient Temples of Agrigento so we chose this hotel because it was near. After spending several days in crowded towns this historic country hotel made a restful change. The approach is a bit off putting because it is up an unpaved track but the hotel itself is an... Michael424 must have been there on an off day. This is a perfect example of a small private hotel. The staff are responsive, friendly and helpful, the rooms are recently decorated and very clean and the dining is frankly superb, way above what you might expect. Based on a 14th century watchtower (with a newer annex containing most of the... More

An historic residence near The Valley of the Temples, we stayed in one of the charming watchtower rooms with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. The on-site bar and restaurant were delightful. We took our evening drinks outside to enjoy the beautiful weather and ambience before going inside for dinner. Dinners were excellent... More

On arrival after a very long day I was a little concerned, parking was on a dirt road and although the welcome was excellent the rooms were quite simple but you soon realise that this is a wonderful location, views across to the Valley of the Temples, wonderful gardens, beautiful courtyard for evening drinks. The restaurant felt a little old... More

Our stay was too short arriving late afternoon but the grounds were beautiful and the view across to the temples was stunning. Dinner was outstanding with flavours and presentation so skilfully combined that it made it one of the best meals we had ever had! The breakfast too included so much variety with homemade specialities. I wish we could have... More

Three stars. Why? Location perfect for the temples - a five-minute drive away. Quiet, attractive, clean, comfortable, safe and heritagey, if in a slightly tired way. So why didn't it work for us? Fail1: you are trapped and have to eat in the hotel. 1a: it is expensive. 1b: there are no vegetarian mains. 1c: portions are tiny - you... More

The restaurant at this hotel has a very capable chef. Dishes include parmigiana past (foam), present, and future (dehydrated). The restaurant is small and caters mostly to guests (reservations required). The caponata was extraordinary with its raisins, olives, pistachios, pine nuts, and caramelized onions. My black pork was cooked for 17 hours, perhaps in a terrine, and was served with... More
