The hotel was amazing! Rooms clean and spacious. Location was right on the beach where cabanas awaited for those taking a dip in the incredible Adriatic Sea. The hotel food was spectacular, down to the warm croissants and fresh bread, incredible feta cheese, caprese eggs benedict, fish plate, crispy French fries, pasta, etc. Each food ordered from their menu was delicious and perfect. One thing I appreciated above all else was the staff, everyone was courteous and super helpful. Special shout out to Marijana and Antonela. Both women were delightful, attentive, funny and sweet. They knew how to make our trip extra special, recommending places to visit, local drinks to try, and restaurants in downtown Split to try out. This was my first time to Croaita, I'll definitely be coming back and staying at the Damianii again!

We spent a long time looking for a hotel in Croatia that was right for us. It had to be close to the airport and right on the beach. After comparing several hotels, we decided in favour of the Damianii Luxury Boutique Hotel & Spa. It is located in the village of Duće on the border with the town of Omiš. The photos on Booking.com were tempting. After comparing it with other hotels, we couldn't believe that it looked like this.
We were not disappointed, the photos corresponded to reality. It is a beautiful hotel with only 12 rooms. Transfer from Split airport is offered, but we opted for Uber.
The service was perfect and the staff were always very friendly. The dinner was great and, together with the presentation, was like a Michelin-starred restaurant. We were there from the beginning of May, which is practically the low season. The advantage was that we always had the pool and spa area to ourselves.
We can recommend the hotel without reservation and would be very happy to return.

The most amazing hotel I ever visited! Everything exudes sophistication and luxury. Bed is very comfortable, pool is amazing. Hotel is not so big, so its not crowded on the breakfast or at the pool, which for me can be really irritating! Very professional and kind staff, especially girls and one man at the desk that made me welcome surprise. Beach is private with comfortable sunbeds with baldacchinos (free of charge for guests).
Kindly recommend!

First and foremost one has to say how polite, helpful and charming the staff are at this hotel. It is only a pity the rest is not as good. Travelling with a friend we drew lots as to who would take which room, 1st or 3rd floor, with a view for both facing a solid rock and the hotel garage (for which, if you have a car, you are expected to pay 25 Euros a day!) not even in France do they charge that. The 3rd floor bedroom was done up like a nightclub, black and gold. The 1st floor one was at least white with glittery mosaic walls in the bathroom. Kitch in both cases. The size of the rooms was good as was the balcony if you were happy to stare at the netted rock face of the mountain!
The 2 enormous sliding wardrobe doors were the most irritating feature of the rooms. Each time you wanted to use the bathroom you had to slide one of these doors to one side and when you wanted anything from the side where your drawers were or the safe, you had to slide them the other way. Muscles required. I object to having musak filtering from a speaker in the ceiling above the bed. I mentioned this at reception who seemed surprised as they didn't seem to be aware of this!
A kettle was provided with sachets of indifferent tea (no English Breakfast tea - I take my own luckily) and coffee was in strip form as you would get in a cheap motel or lesser hotel. Not what you would expect from what calls itself 5*s. There was no milk ever given, so I took my fresh milk from the breakfast/dining room.
A bottle of water was provided at the start of your stay and that was it. You were expected to buy your own thereafter. Having stayed in a REAL 5* for 4 nights in Split, 2 water bottles were given daily in your room.
The continental breakfast let's call it that, was disappointing. Dried up cheese and ham sitting in the fridge, but if you chose the cooked option, this at least was ok.
The best part of the hotel was the pool, but not the somewhat ridiculous and not very comfortable loungers. We had been led to believe it was an Adults Only hotel but that was not the case as it turned out as there were children, well behaved thank goodness.
This is a hotel with pretensions and not to everyone's taste sadly, but Omis is a delightful town with some very nice places to eat round and about and well worth visiting but pick somewhere else to stay.

Luxury, sleek, glamorous, swanky adjectives BEGUILE the fact that
apparently the pool-side Couches are not for relaxing upon.
Five-Star courtesy by certain hotel staff was sadly lacking when
engaging with two guests recently!

All the rooms I believe are suites, the rooms as fabulous, with a huge bed and spa bathroom, sadly ours overlooked the car park at the back of the hotel. The car park/ garage will cost you €20 a night, plenty of places to park free on the road. The staff in the restaurant are great, it’s not a cheap place to eat and drink but well executed. The only negative we had was the heated pool was so icy cold no one could get in it. There is a spa pool but that will cost you €20 each , but you do get a free drink. Who thinks these rules up, so no one got in the pool the whole time we stayed. (So May as well not have a pool)

Lovely hotel set amongst the beautiful scenery of Croatia.
There were a few negatives, but all relatively minor. These included there being no tea or coffee making facilities in the room, some minor repairs needed (shower door leaked, there was damage to the bath, the hot tub at the pool didn't work) and the bed being one of the most uncomfortable I have slept in (although paradoxically the pillows were amazing!). We had also been led to believe that the hotel had its own private beach; in reality the hotel had a small area on the public beach reserved with sun loungers on a platform, but the beach itself was quite crowded.
Additionally we hadn't appreciated that the hotel was set on the main road from Omis to Split, having thought from the website that it would have been isolated and quiet. Relaxing by the pool whilst heavy traffic passed by on the other side of the hedge was quite difficult.
What made this hotel special was the staff. Maja and Nella were the most helpful, friendly and genuinely lovely staff we have ever come across. Nothing was too much trouble for them and hotel management should feel very fortunate to have them on their books.
Omis is a 20-30 minute walk away along the main road but worth a visit. We also did zip lining, a boat trip and jet skiing, all of which are recommended.
Overall we enjoyed our stay at the Damianii and loved Croatia, but would probably look for a hotel in a quieter location next time.

Response from Damianii, Manager at Damianii Luxury Boutique Hotel & Spa
Responded Aug 31, 2017
Dear AndyfromLeics, Thank You for the words of praise, but also for the constructive criticism laid out in this detailed review. First of all, I am delighted to read that our staff left such good impressions on You, alongside with some of the numerous activities which are offered in the area. I am a bit surprised, though, with the remark about the uncomfortable bed, since this is really something all our guests usually have only words of praise for. We apologize for not meeting our usual standards on this occasion when it comes to minor repairs needed that You mentioned. All in all, thank You for deciding to spend Your holiday at hotel Damianii and we still hope You would decide for another stay, so we could right these little wrongs. Best regards, Marin Jerkovic

After saving up for my partner's 50th birthday surprise, I wanted to find something special - I came across this hotel on TripAdvisor and it just excited me ! I'm so glad I booked this place as we had an amazing time at this hotel , we were so sad to leave - I saw my first ever shooting star whilst sat in the outside Jacuzzi at night time! 💫
We had room 102 with the Jacuzzi on the balcony and huge terrace overlooking the sea which was amazing. The decor is really nice in there too.

The sunbeds on the Terrace are really comfortable - the most comfortable I've ever had at a hotel before. We didn't really use the pool.

You can choose as much breakfast as you like in the morning , the warm croissants were particularly nice and the waiting on staff were really nice people . It is the most relaxing breakfast experience I've ever had on a holiday. You can choose to either sit inside or outside

The room had lots of wall switches to put different lights on, change temperature and move the blinds up and down

The bed was very big and comfortable, but you still get that join down the middle. There were extra duvets in the wardrobes.
We only got time to use the inside jacuzzi once - but that was great too

We had no problems connecting to wi-fi in the hotel.

The shower was great, it had water coming out from all angles, (my partner called it the orgasmatron 😂😂) it did wet the bathroom floor quite a lot, but it drains away down a hole in the floor

We had some nice cocktails whilst sunbathing on our Private sunbeds on the beach, you just have to get the waiters attention and he brings them to you.

The weather was really hot , (August) and the sea is really clear , we waded out quite far and could still see fish and crabs at the bottom of the sandy bed. One day the sea felt really cold , but other days it was ok. I don't know if this had anything to do with some windy weather we had had.

Take your own hairdryer if you have extra long thick hair as it took quite a while to dry my hair with the one provided in the wet room

My partner enjoyed the fillet steak here , and I enjoyed the beef stroganoff . We also had room service in the room one night.

We visited Split one night which was fantastic and only cost us about 2 pounds each , each way , the only downside was the road was quite congested and it took well over an hour to get there and also coming back. we had an amazing meal in split with a great view of the Riva promenade , I wish we had gone earlier in the day to further explore Split. The bus to Omis and Split are every 30 minutes from the hotel. But we walked to Omis a few times as we didn't find it too far on foot.

Unfortunately we didn't get time to visit Krka falls which I would of liked to have done - maybe next time...

All the staff in the hotel really are lovely people, and really helpful, and the maids are really efficient.

The TVs need to be on AV2 I think it is to get the tv channels, but the smart TV side of it didn't work, but we did get a few YouTube videos up on it

The cocktail bar wasn't open , but you could still get cocktails at the bar though, but it kind of dulled the atmosphere a little bit with not being open. So we Went over to their Shooko Bar a few times , which is just across the road , which had a great vibe, where we had some amazing pizzas and Ice cream. It's open day and night. You can also hire sunbeds there on the end of the pier, which would be good as you would get a bit of sea breeze if it's too hot and also the evening sunshine.

We did the zip wire one day which was an amazing experience. I bought my partner a go pro for his 50th birthday too, so he got a lot of footage on there , which he enjoyed doing. They gave him a helmet which already had the attachment on it. I was scared at first , but then I relaxed into it. I would definitely do it again. It was amazing. I think we should of gone about 6pm to get the sunset views. If we ever do this again I think I will choose that time. This was one of our highlights of the holiday.

We didn't find any problems with the language barrier. Everyone we came across spoke good English, whether it was Croatian people or the foreign visitors , so no worries there

We also hired a boat for the day from a guy further down the road where it says 'hire a JetSki' so we had a brilliant day out on that , At one point it felt like we were the only ones out on the open sea, which just felt amazing. - so freeing. The sea got a bit rough and windy round the other side of the island, we went to zlatni rat beach , but we turned back and came round our side of the sea, which was ultra calm where It was like a pond. We found a little town called Brela which was lovely. We docked here for some food and drink.

We definitely want to return at some point - A week just wasn't long enough here. I felt really emotional leaving

We've never been to Croatia before but absolutely loved it! the landscape and the turquoise sea is beautiful , and the people are really nice

When we come again we will have to remember to sit on the right side of the plane going, and the left side of the plane leaving, as you get a great view of all the little islands (we flew with jet 2)

I want to do this holiday all over again, it was amazing, and I would recommend this hotel to anyone. My partner said he loved every minute of it too.

I don't want to go back to work today, I want to be back at hotel Damianii 😭
This holiday will stay in our memory forever
