Reading the reviews this hotel seemed to good to be true, but it is an absolute gem on the shores of the Adriatic.
We're fortunate to travel quite a lot and I have to see that this hotel is one of the best for value, cleanliness ( immaculate), great service , a superb staff team all of who are happy to look after you, are chatty and extremely efficient, and a great location . Yes it's around 40 mins from Split , but the public transport is easy to use and you can get to Omis by walking or bus and to split by bus for just 1.5 Euro each way per person.
The staff team are superb, as many others have said , they all go out of their way to look after you. I do though want to call out Mia on reception who was great helping us with our planning of daytrip to Dubrovnik, a trip up the river through the Cetina valley and advising on Split and the transport. Also a special shout out to our Queen Sandra , from our arrival in the restaurant on the first night she always had a smile, a laugh and a friendly chat .. eve talking about the wine served at the Queens coronation and for which we christened her Quee n Sandra.
The facilities at the hotel are super, you wouldn't think we came at the end of a busy summer season as everything was in great condition and so clean. The team do an amazing job.
We stayed in roon 602 ( in fact checking out tomorrow morning 😞) the room has tremendous views looking over the water to Brac island. The room has a bath and a separate shower, high quality fixtures and fittings, high teck lighting amd curtain/ shutter controls and amazingly great sound proof rooms. Gowns and slippers in room plus hairdryer, safe, and a very comfy bed.
The beach bar is just over the road and is great for a change of scenery from pool side , but given you can see the sea from the poolside you really have the best of both worlds.
We stayed half board and found the food to be great, a selection of dishes stay consistent each night but there's always something different . Seafood, poultry, venison, beef, pizza, pasta, salad bar etc great for us but maybe not our waistline!!
Quality cocktails and drinks , my favourite being the Old Fashioned lovely Bourbon cocktail.
This hotel really is something quite special and I have a feeling we will be back .
Our stay was 7 nights from 29th September 2024. Half board, rm 602.
Thanks team Hotel Plaza Duce you do live upto the great trip advisor rating.

The hotel is built in three tiers set into the hillside beside the busy main road to Omis which is 3 km away. There are three categories of rooms, standard, premium and deluxe. We stayed on the eighth floor in a premium room ( 803 ) called the pool House , overlooking the pool & with superb views facing the sea. it was exceptionally quiet and we didn't hear any other sound from adjacent rooms or the road traffic. The rooms are exceptionally well insulated . Hotel is super clean and the staff are wonderfully helpful and friendly. Facilities in our room, double wash basin, bath, shower, toilet and toiletries provided including bars of soap. Room was air-conditioned, with plenty of storage space, Kettle for tea/ coffee making with milk provided. a mini fridge ( stocked with drinks) a safe , TV, electric blackout curtains, European and UK sockets with USB. fast and reliable Wi-Fi. dressing gown and slippers and even an umbrella. Indoor plus outdoor swimming pool, with Jacuzzi's. towels are provided .The beach is sand and shingle with the hotel beach bar. about 50 yards away (recommend paddling shoes ).Sunbeds are 8 euros per day on the beach but free by the swimming pool. There are two restaurants the main one being the self service will buffet, which is included in the half-board but otherwise is €36 for an evening meal. breakfast is a lavish affair catering for the English with sausages, bacon, eggs of various descriptions, baked beans, tomatoes etc . There is a toaster. one could have a continental breakfast with various meats, or croissants , pastries, cakes and cereals. plus fresh fruit. A member of staff will cook eggs to your liking . room . The evening meal buffet had something for everyone, there was always a wide selection of meats grilled or casseroled , often 3 varieties of fish and a wide selection of vegetables and pasta, in addition slices of pizza. There was always something that satisfied our tastes every evening and my recommendation would be to walk around the buffet seeing what is on offer before putting the first option you see on your plate! , A minor criticism, mentioned by others, is that they will not provide tap water by the glass which is available at breakfast. a small bottle of water costs nearly 3 euros. wine is available by the glass or bottle. We had a hire car which we parked opposite the hotel in designated free spaces. Parking in Omis , can be a nightmare and it is expensive about 8 euros for two and half hours. A taxi journey is 7 euros one-way. it is common to have traffic jams into the town , and on the approach to Split . taking the bus to Split, which runs every hour costs 6 euros and drops you right beside the old walled town. The bus stop is about 200 yards from the hotel, beside a small supermarket.

I can only confirm what all the other reviews have said - this is definitely one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. So much to praise - the hotel is spacious, bright and welcoming, the staff genuinely seem to enjoy their work and everywhere is spotlessly clean. We had a bedroom on the 8th floor and loved our view of the coastline. Both bedroom and bathroom were large and well equipped with clever touch controls for lighting and curtains. Air con and WiFi worked seamlessly and the smart TV enabled us to cast our Netflix app. We were on half board and the food was beautifully cooked and presented. Restaurant staff were continually clearing plates and replenishing buffet items and we enjoyed our dining experience. Apart from walking along the beach front, there isn't lot to explore in the immediate area. We both walked and took the bus to Omis (definitely get the Promet app) and enjoyed exploring the town. The boat trip through the canyon is highly recommended. We also enjoyed our trip to Split and booked the Trogir/Krka trip with the hotel. This was a lovely day - we were picked up at 7am (hotel provides a sandwich, drink and apple to take away) and were taken to Split to join the tour bus. Trogir was a beautiful small town with lots of history and the waterfalls at Krka were stunning. We returned to the hotel around 5.30. We loved our week here - this must be the best hotel on this stretch of coastline and would definitely recommend it!

Firstly I want to say we had the best relaxing week at Hotel Plaza Duce, one of the best hotel we've stayed in Europe and we travel alot being our 5th holiday of the year. We came for October Half-Term for some sunshine and it did not dissapoint, 23° everyday and just perfect.
This is a 4* rated hotel but definitely a 5* in my opinion. All the staff are super nice and welcoming, and nothing is an issue. Sanja served us a few times and she always had a smile and all staff was just super helpful. We were super impressed how clean the hotel was and the spacious room we had was just incredible with hi-tech mod cons - electric blinds, and all wall digital panels. Comfortable beds, shower and bath with high end products provided (Rituals). We stayed in Room 1007 and the view from our balcony was gorgeous.
A well maintained and luxury spa (indoor and outdoor pool) a chic and comfortable outdoor lounge area with sea view and plenty sunbeds. We were on Half-Board so had Breakfast and Dinner, the food was very nice and a good variety but a tad salty but this could just be me as I don't use much salt in general.
The only thing I would say is if they had some evening music or somewhere to chill out after dinner that would have been nice as there wasn't much atmosphere and we went back to our rooms to play some card games after dinner.
The area was quiet and peaceful right opposite the beach, it was end of season so no restaurants or shops was open so if you wanted to get anything you'll have to go into town. The closest Town was Omis, about 40 mins walk or 10mins bus ride. I loved this old town, in between mountains and certina river with boat rides and zip lining (I done both and was lovely especiallythe Zip Lining €65). Split town was 45mins bus ride away so definitely make a day of it as lots of market stores and great restaurants. The bus stop is a few mins walk outside the hotel so very easy. 1 tip is to download the 'Promet Split' bus app and buy bus tickets before boarding which is cheaper and easier.
Overall a wonderful hotel and just what we all needed to recharge our battery before Winter. We will definitely come back again :)

Dear Guest, Thank you so much for your wonderful review! We’re thrilled to hear that you had such a relaxing and enjoyable stay at Hotel Plaza Duće. It’s great to know that our staff, especially Sanja, made you feel so welcome and that you were impressed by the cleanliness, spacious room, and beautiful view. We appreciate your feedback on the food, and we’ll definitely consider it as we work to improve our offerings. Regarding the evening entertainment, we’re happy to let you know that during the high season, we have live music almost every night. In the low season, we make sure to have live music at least once a week, but we’ll certainly take your suggestion into account and explore the possibility of increasing the frequency during this period. Thank you again for your kind words and for choosing us to recharge before the winter. We look forward to welcoming you back soon! Warm regards, Hotel Plaža Duće Team

I don’t normally write reviews, but I felt compelled to write this one. In fact, I’m writing this on our last night as we are sat sipping Prosecco, watching the world go by.
The room that we were allocated (1401) has to be up there as one of the nicest rooms that we have ever stayed in, and we’ve stayed in plenty. The panoramic views are breathtaking.
The room has the biggest, comfiest bed that I’ve ever slept in and an array of pillows to choose from should you wish for something different.
There is so much space in the room itself and it has fabulous storage.
The bathroom has both a free standing shower and a separate bath, which is something you don’t often see.
It is maintained to a high spec and has a very modern feel. The control panel even allows you to open the curtains whilst laid in bed.
The air-con is very efficient, which is helpful when it’s 33 degrees outside.
The tv has the ability to mirror a device if you felt like chilling in the room and the wifi is very good in all areas of the hotel.
The room was extremely quiet. There was a family in the room next to us and we never heard a sound. From what I can see there’s not a huge amount of rooms on each floor so there wasn’t the usual disturbance of people passing the room or noise made by cleaning staff.
Everything around the hotel is serene and relaxed. You don’t have queue for a sun lounger and there’s plenty of seating, bean bags and even a hammock if you wanted to give it go.
The staff are very attentive and nothing is too much trouble.
There’s amazing views from the pool deck (if you go to the front of the hotel)
The prices in the hotel I thought were very reasonable. We were bed and breakfast and there was a huge amount of choice.
Some people may feel that the location of this hotel isn’t great, but it wasn’t a problem for us. We got the local bus to Split there and back for €6. We went twice during our stay and to be honest, whilst it was lovely to see, we were glad to get back to the comfort of our hotel.
All in all, it’s been a fantastic four day stay and I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone who wanted to come to Croatia.

We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Plaza Duce. The hotel is amazing and well worthy of all the fantastic reviews it has. We were in a Deluxe room on the 13th floor, with beautiful views overlooking Brac Island and the pool. The room was true luxury, with gorgeous ensuite and Ritual toiletries, replaced daily. Beautifully decorated and lots of lovely extras. We were on a half board basis and enjoyed the variety of dishes at both breakfast and for the evening meals. Everything freshly cooked and catering for all tastes. We had an a la carte lunch on a couple of occasions, good size portions and really tasty. Cocktails were great and reasonably priced for a hotel. We booked a number of trips with the hotel, including 5 Island speedboat trip (taking in various islands including Hvar). This is a must! Only 12 others on the boat, so you feel like it is a private trip. Omis which is a 50 minute walk away, and hosts some fun activities, including ziplining and rafting. We took the mini bus express to Split from the bus stop by the hotel, which took approx 45 minutes, although the route can get quite busy! The spa is great too, we had a sports massage and classic massage. A high standard and well worth the money (they offer daily discounts). All staff are highly professional and extremely efficient in their various roles, which certainly provides a 5 star experience. Definitely recommending to friends an family.

Where do I even start. This hotel has been the most incredible experience for me and my partner from the moment we arrived to the moment we left this morning. The receptionists have been so so helpful from showing us to our room, taking our bags for us, giving us a small tour of the building and giving us so much information to help us with our stay. They have helped us book excursions and gave us reasonable prices for what it was worth. We did the zip lining at €65pp and prepared us with what would be useful during the day and helped us with getting a transfer to the Omiš town. We also did a whole day tour which included visiting 4 different islands at €125pp, we visited the Blue Cave, Blue lagoon, Vis, Hvar, and Carpe Diem, spending 7am-6pm exploring (once again given a transfer to Split). These experiences were a once in a lifetime and we are so grateful we were able to experience them. If you’re visiting this hotel please ask about what excursions they have to offer!! There were so many. The hotel receptionists and housekeeping staff also helped me decorate the room for our anniversary (I provided the decor) and did this whilst we were out for the day. This was such a surprise and they even added small touches from themselves such as notes and crafted towels. So thoughtful! The food and drinks were all incredible and once again reasonably priced. We were able to put everything onto our room which was so easy to pay at the very end, this was such a relief for us as we didn’t have to worry about sorting bills every day. The hotel was always spotless, and had amazing facilities such as an indoor and outdoor pool, jacuzzis, steam rooms and a wellness centre. The indoor pool was always quiet for us to relax when we had a long day, and the pools always had plenty of beds - we never had to fight for them lol. Most nights the hotel had live entertainment of incredible musicians which was always nice to listen to before we went up to our room on the night. Overall, this hotel was so surreal and we couldn’t thank them enough for such a wonderful stay. Thank you! From Room 1403

This beautiful hotel is just as shown on the websites. A first class hotel very modern, immaculately clean and relaxing. The staff are amazing, polite and friendly and couldn’t do enough for you. We stayed in a large room on the 7th floor with views of the Adriatic Sea and the pool area. The hotel is in a quiet area but it is easy to travel to Split by taxi. Omiš town is approximately 30-45 minutes pleasant walk or by bus No 60 (only 2.5 euros). We would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family.

What a wonderful, relaxing holiday we had, from check-in, through to check out, we were spoilt. The staff were so friendly and helpful; helped with the app for the bus into Omis and gave us the number of the local taxi driver, who we contacted on WhatsApp, when we needed collecting. We chose October as we wanted to miss the heat to be able to explore however, the weather was so beautiful that we only made it out twice….Omis during the day (boat trip on the Cetina) and then again for an evening….days were mostly spent around the pool. We did venture to the beach opposite one afternoon, but the sea was really cold however, if you swim to the right, out of the current, it was much warmer. We had a sea view room on the sixth floor, and were fortunate enough to be on the corner, which meant we had the room for sun loungers on the balcony. We stayed b&b and enjoyed every breakfast, so much food to choose from. We also ate there most evenings, sampling the buffet menu, which was extensive and delicious and also ate ‘a la carte’ a couple of times, which again was lovely. The place was spotless, the rooms were lovely and big, such comfy beds with pillow menus; touch pads, which operate the lights, curtains and blinds. Rituals toiletries were in the public bathrooms (which swayed me to buy when we returned). Had my nails done in the Spa…the best gel manicure/pedicure I’ve ever had, lasted an absolute age. We both had a fabulous time and wouldn’t hesitate in returning. Thank you Plaza Duce.

We arrived at the hotel and was swiftly greeted and checked into our rooms. The lady who lead us to our rooms was extremely professional, polite and friendly. The rooms are very high tech which can be both a pro and con in itself. At first it was hard to get used to but after the first couple days it got easier. Furthermore, the standard rooms and deluxe rooms are practically identical apart from a higher view, coffee machine and window into the bathroom (however, this can be covered up with a curtain). There is also no door to the shower, which gives the bathroom a lovely modern appeal for aesthetic purposes, but I do believe a door is necessary to keep water off the floor. The next day, we headed down to breakfast and I was taken back by the less appealing view for breakfast and dinner. I do believe the rule for no swimwear for breakfast needs to be relaxed especially if you are wearing a swimsuit and trousers. I don’t quite understand with a hotel that’s so high quality on efficiencies with technology, they would not see the efficiency with wearing a swimsuit AND trousers to breakfast means less people reserving sunbeds reducing overcrowding in the pool area. But also I am not the biggest fan of people telling me what I can and can’t wear, that is just my preference. I would be more understanding if the view for breakfast was better. Moving on, the pool area is very relaxing however the umbrellas are very squeaky on a windy day which can ruin the relaxation of the hotel. There are no cons at the beach bar everything about it is fantastic and relaxing. The location of the hotel is fantastic, plus the hotel have their own taxi firm for you to rely on and is a €10 taxi to Omis for 6 people, they have their prices at reception, which I find is incredibly reasonable prices and efficient of the hotel. The pool bar is extremely well organised with waiters and waitresses are at your service at the push of a button. All the waiters and waitresses are incredibly accommodating, attentive and friendly. The cocktails were extraordinary, I love how everything here is made from scratch from the lunch service to the strawberry daiquiris. We also went on a boat trip via the hotel and it was incredible, Nicola was very accommodating and friendly. A big thanks to the hotel. In addition, the hotel entertainment was extremely relaxing, the singers were great and were symbiotic to the hotels vibe. To conclude, there were some minor flaws but overall this hotel greeted us with a huge boost of friendliness, incredible hospitality and charm. I would come back here again!

Staff are very friendly and helpful . The hotel only closes for weddings when out of season . I think it is normal practice to take a credit card to secure a booking . Main pool is heated . We didn't use sun beds on thier beach area but I think they € 20 per day . I suggest you ring hotel re any concerns . +385 21 783 351
