Beautiful boutique hotel right on Kotor bay
We stayed as a group of 4 in two rooms and had just the most amazing time. The staff were all lively, and the rooms were comfy and clean. We loved the private beach, and the ability to order up drinks or food from the staff that were never far away. The restaurant food was really good, and the included breakfast was fabulous. I really don't think it could have been better and we are plotting to come back next year

    Lovely boutique hotel
My wife and I stayed for a week at the start of the season late May 2022. The hotel is very well looked after, the room was super (we had a suite with sea view), excellent bed and bedding and housekeeping services. The breakfast was also very good, as well as the food within the restaurant. Location peaceful with superb views of the bay. Above all the team, were fantastic, very friendly and accommodating, service always with a smile. Close to Kotor, can be reached by short trip on the bus which is reliable. Many thanks for a lovely stay, keep up the great work!

    Where to even start ...
Where do I even start with this hotel, so that I can even express how amazing it is? Whatever I say ... it will not be enough. Staff- ANGELS! Every single one of them! Oh my, they are so positve and kind. Really. Beach - superb! So quiet, such comfortable cabanas and sun beds, water crystal clear ... Food - yummy!! Great menu and taste! And they did everything for us, vegans, that we could have amazing dishes available. So like I said ... whatever I said, is not enough. Coming back? FOR SURE. Like next year. Thank you Amfora!

While the staff at this hotel is very friendly, the interior design is ugly, the property lacks maintenance standards and does not treat clients well when something unexpected happens. The strange interior design is made worse by the lack of quality in the finishes and poor maintenance. Wallpaper is coming unglued, the tiles in the bathroom are unfinished, and wood molding lacks caulking. In the restaurant, side tables are messy (and dirty underneath) with all kinds of things stored on the floor. The spa room where massages are done is used as storage. To make matters worse, when the AC stopped working for multiple days in the height of summer, the staff did not proactively offer fans, water in the room, or discounts for the stay or food/beverage. We had to beg to check out early (and it was not an immediate yes).

We have made a reservation in January for August. All was confirmed even the airport transfer. A week prior the vacation, they cancelled our reservation in booking, not even getting to the decency to contact us directly. "There has been a mistake." was the message we got. They offered as an replacement a hotel far from the beach and very different from what we have planned and booked. Our flight tickets had to be changed (the charge on us, of course) and due the tardiness of this message we were not to find any other option. Thanks to this hotel our vacation had to be cancelled. It does help to be beautifull hotel if it can NOT be trusted!

We stayed for 5 nights in October. The hotel is well furnished with big rooms and gives a real feeling of luxury thanks to its size (only 11 rooms in the whole hotel) and friendly staff. It is comparable to a large bed and breakfast in size but that's where the comparison ends. This is a great hotel. When booking, we missed out on a sea view room but should not have worried about this since the mountain view we had was spectacular too. Also, the hotel has a terrace and large varied seating area downstairs, directly on the waterfront, as well as a patch of private (pebbled) beach so guests can lounge there whenever they like which is very convenient. It is very private and it was calm and quiet (could also be due to the time of year - we recommend going at this time!). Drinks and food are served all day at reasonable prices in a stunning setting and the restaurant itself is recommended online as a good place to eat. We ate there 3 times. On our first day, we had booked out the spa which it turned out had a flooding problem. The hot tub was spewing water out everywhere in a comedic fashion - my partner smiled when we walked in and mentioned that "it probably doesn't work like that!" We realised that we weren't going to be able to use it then and reported the problem to the hotel staff who were more than apologetic - we really weren't all that bothered. They spent 30 minutes cleaning up the room and let us use the sauna instead. Upon entering the spa there was fruit and water for us to eat and drink and we also learned that usage of the spa was entirely ours (hence the booking) - a nice touch. The next day and unexpectedly (we didn't express any anger about it) we were handed a letter from the hotel/staff and given a complimentary bottle of wine for the fault. We happily accepted it and rebooked for the following day. We had the place to ourselves and everything worked fine. The hotel is not in Kotor itself and is a 15 minute drive away by bus (1 euro) or taxi (10 euro). My partner was very worried about this as everything was accessible from Kotor. However, the buses are frequent (every hour) - once you get used to Montenegrin timing (add 15 mins!) the buses were very reliable to the point where one of the bus drivers started to recognise us! We wouldn't recommend walking there since the road does not have a pavement most of the way and the drivers are fast. Food at the restaurant is good and breakfast was included in our room price. The breakfast buffet was beautiful but in addition to this guests can order cooked breakfast from the menu - We recommend the Montenegro Style French Toast! This hotel is perfect for couples who want to have a relaxing break with stunning scenery right outside the door. We tend to choose hotels with 4 stars (generally) but this one really stands out because of the amazing views, private beach, private spa and most importantly the helpful and friendly staff - in particular, Jelena, Rade and Maja who had the perfect balance of being both professional and friendly. This is probably the longest review we have written on Tripadvisor but they really deserve this review - Thank you Hotel Amfora!
