Hotel Regency Country Club Apartment Suites offers a tranquil atmosphere and a spacious pool that guests enjoy, though some feel the hotel could benefit from more nightly entertainment and better maintenance. Service quality varies, with experiences of both warmth and neglect. The hotel's decor is admired for its beauty, but areas showing wear call for refurbishment. While the rooms are generally pleasant, they too require attention, and housekeeping services are reportedly hit-or-miss. The remote location may necessitate taxi travel, and some travelers find additional costs, such as for food and deposits, detract from the hotel's value.

Spent a week here at the start of January. Hotel was clean and beautiful. Unfortunately our hotel room was the furthest away from the pool so walking up around 5 flights of stairs to get to which was a pain after sitting around the pool or trying to get suitcases up. Pool was absolutely freezing the sea was warmer it was that cold, hotel is advertised as heated pools but it has to be the coldest pool and jacuzzi i have ever been in. We found a road behind the hotel that we parked in all week that was ideal but beware last day we got a parking ticket.
Hotel was definitely more of a couples hotel in my option no entertainment on at night and very quite. Hotel offers free bus into the town but we had a hire car which I would recommend as you are pretty far out from anything walking distance. Can’t comment on restaurant as we was self catering and ending up finding cheaper options with amazing quality food around the island but they do offer a take away option. Gym was awful either would recommend moving to top floor/outside building clearly not being used and it’s on bottom floor so get very hot. Equipment is outdated and old. Mini market need a refresh and we couldn’t find the ‘cinema’ to save our lives. Kids had fun using the ping pong table and hotel family got involved in the mini golf which was brilliant.
On arrival we was greeted with a drink and hotel room comes with free water and a complimentary bottle of champagne in the bedroom, a full chest of towel and clean bedding, toiletries and a big kitchen full of everything you need. Our room did come with an upstairs private sunbathing area which we never got round to using but would definitely see the appeal. Over all hotel was lovely but would only recommend for small group/family or couples as our family had 3 hotel rooms all off the hotel (I imagine if we had asked we would have been put together).

We have been here many many times.

As mentioned in previous reviews one must be aware of the Spanish Covid restrictions which has limited some of the facilities.previously available. However that does not detract from the hard work the staff put in to make everyone's stay enjoyable.

Rodrigo & Pedro in the Pool bar worked their socks off preparing breakfast, snacks/food, drinks/cocktails, clearing/cleaning tables and providing the towel service. Pedro especially wanted to know that everyone he came into contact with was happy and enjoying themselves.

Juan the manager explained some the restrictions due to the Spanish furlough scheme being extended but some facilities were slowly opening. The buffet breakfast commenced on 1 November and extra cleaners had been employed. Also the onsite mini market is now open with Malcolm and Jill providing a welcome haven for some essentials. Also the restaurant and bar hope to be open in january/early February.

The mini bus is currently not available but reception staff will order taxis which are quick to arrive and a fare to Los Cristianos centro is around 6 or 7 Euros.

Our room was spotless when we arrived and cleaning was maintained to a high standard.

We have stayed here many time before and the positives are a lovely calm environment with a spacious pool and never having trouble getting a lounger no matter how busy it is. Staff are always very polite and helpful.

Unfortunately a number of things are not available, apparently because of covid. The lack of shuttle bus is a big issue as the resort is pretty remote and there are none of the usual activities due to covid, although we were able to get taxis for six down to Playa Fanabe for around 10 euros. The restaurant is shut for refurbishment and whilst the pools staff did an utterly amazing job during the day, it was a shame not to be able to even get a drink after around 5.30 when they closed up. Also the pool area was not cleaned until staff arrived the next morning so towels and overly full bins spoilt the atmosphere somewhat.

Our apartment was a 2 bed poolside and is nicely spacious although we were somewhat troubled by ants, the wifi didn’t work in my son’s room and the aircon wasn’t amazing. You had to request cleaning by 2pm the day before, but once when I did this, they were already fully booked so it couldn’t be done until two days later. No dishwasher or washing machine although you can pay to use one on site.

Only one family is allowed at a time in the gym so we ended up not going as often as we would have liked.
The plants around the mini golf desperately need pruning as they block up the course also the water features are very algae ridden and we were slightly worried having to put our hands in to retrieve a ball.

I’m not sure how heated the pool actually is. It was tolerable once you were swimming, but took a bit of getting used to - and the jacuzzi is only fractionally warmer and usually full of kids because the pool is too cold for them.

Thankfully the little shop has reopened with delicious morning baguettes and very reasonable prices. We also found the local shop up the road and tried out the local restaurants - had a pleasant lunch at Molus and a couple of huge meals at Meson La Finca Chayofa.

Overall we had an amazing week, and to be fair to the Regency the price we paid was less than normal, presumably reflective of the reduced facilities. But it is starting to feel a bit dated and I was a bit embarrassed as we went with friends and we had picked this accommodation.

Reviews are quite varied for this place, I suppose it’s what is important to you! Do your research!! We couldn’t really find fault, perhaps a few suggestions but nothing that would stop us staying here again. We would recommend a car, although a courtesy bus runs in the morning to Los Christianos with a return bus late afternoon. The walk is not ideal, the road is busy, no footpath, with little to no lighting.
The pool is huge and open from 10-6 but you can swim outside these times. Ideal for early morning lengths, after dinner drinks, late nights swims. A large juccuzzi and pool bar are great and can be popular at times.
Children are present but as it is not near the livelier areas it maybe families choose elsewhere. We like the quiet and didn’t find it too noisy at all.
The room was ideal, quiet ceiling fans kept us cool, the kitchen was fully stocked, courtesy consumables in the kitchen and bathroom, a hairdryer, bug plugs etc. great view from balcony. Our initial room didn’t have a great view but a call to reception and that was resolved.
The clearing up around pool is ongoing throughout the day but glasses may accumulate outside the pool opening times-see above- but the area is cleared and cleaned early morning.
Housekeeping is by request at reception, ideal if like us you only need a towel/bed change occasionally rather than daily.
The restaurant offers breakfast currently at €10 and is pay as you go, as is the bar so no big bill to face on leaving! Dinner is offered if you have made a booking 24 hours prior! Preference for us would be to show up as and when, they may be loosing custom using the current booking system. There are some local restaurants within walking distant but a car/taxi needed to go further afield.
The grounds are beautiful, lots of nooks and crannies to sit if you don’t wish to use your balcony. Lots of sun beds no need to set an alarm to grab one!
There is some entertainment, however apart from being advertised in reception you wouldn’t know. Perhaps a board around the pool would alert clients to use it.

Regency Country Club. My wife and I stayed here for a week mid June 2022, booked via our timeshare using RCI.

We also stayed here 8 years ago with our daughters and enjoyed it immensely then, so I am comparing this most recent stay with our previous stay.

This place really is lovely. The pool and the grounds are superb. If you want to relax and by the pool (heated) away from the hustle and bustle of the main resorts by the beach – come here. There is plenty of room, shaded areas, and sun beds. You won’t be disappointed. I would recommend hiring a car though because it is a little remote, but only 10 minutes drive into the main tourist areas. Car park has plenty of room and is free.

The staff here are super friendly and will do their absolute best to help with anything they can.

Apartments are serviced every day and cleanliness is very good. Pool towels are changed on request and apartment towels can be changed every day.

There is a mini supermarket on site but if you have a hire car I would recommend using a larger supermarket.

My wife and I tend to self cater rather than eat out (because of severe food allergy). We did eat out one evening at the on site restaurant and found the offering very limited and not to our taste. The restaurant was very quiet but looks lovely and we wondered whether their limited menu was a result of coming out of covid. Perhaps this will improve when more people begin using the restaurant.

The pool bar here is great fun. You can sit in the pool and have a cocktail or beer (or both). Many a day folks would be dancing and enjoying themselves. They also serve bar food until 6pm but we didn’t sample any food.

Compared to our stay 8 years ago I would say this place has maintained standards in the main building outside areas and pool. The apartments do need refurbishment. Ours (407) was perfectly adequate and clean but looked a little dated. This didn’t worry us but some folk may be put off. For us the ambience of the outside space, the cleanliness and the super wonderful staff are the worth trade off of slightly dated apartments.

Checkout is at 10 AM but there is a fantastic courtesy area with multiple (10 at least) private showers and lockers.

This really is a lovely place to visit and have a relaxing holiday providing you don’t mind being away from the main tourist resorts of Tenerife South. Highly recommended.

I've been here 5 or 6 times before and have to agree this time the service is reduced due to covid. I'm still rating as a 5 rating for now as I believe improvements are feeding through. I heard indoors breakfasting is starting again in two weeks and that the restaurant will fully reopen in January. I'm back again in December so will leave another review 🙂.

Pool bar staff are ledgends providing drinks and food all day from 9 to 5. The pool is very clean. I have to agree with a previous reviewer that I've never seen it being cleaned, perhaps it is fully automatic, i guess that's a moot point as the pool is clean and the water crystal clear, there is very little sand debris perhaps a little in the corners.

The hotel could have done a better job in getting the message across in advance that the restaurant is shut, no shuttle bus, reduced pool side menu and less cleaning slots. Finding out stuff like that on day 1 is shocking and likely to have a lasting effect. Pool breakfast is nowhere near as the previous buffett style, and no bar in the evening is disappointing too.

Is this hotel a luxury hotel? It's hard to say as terms like that are open to individual interpretation and expectations. Its best to research the hotel in advance, look at the pictures, understand the location and read the reviews. I think recent reviews are a little skewed as they are based on recent reduced service that was poorly advertised by the hotel and holiday companies. Read some of the pre covid reviews to get a more balanced understanding as sometimes poor reviews are written biased with disappointment. I don't think the hotel is trying to pull the wool over anyones eys, I've always found them to be straight up honest

We stayed for one week in a one bedroomed apartment using our RCI exchange.
Prior to our arrival I read a number of very negative trip advisor reports regarding this property.
Having now stayed for one week I believe those reports are quite harsh.
On arrival we were allowed to check in early, check in was very smooth and handled very professionally.
Our apartment was clean and perfectly acceptable.
Some minor issues need to be dealt with i.e. sunbeds need a coat of varnish and some white wooden furniture needs a coat of paint.
It has to be accepted that there has been very little tourism for two years and as such we cannot expect everything to be as it it was two years ago.
With regards to housekeeping a perfectly acceptable process has been implemented to protect the staff.
When you would like your apartment cleaned you inform reception 24 hours prior to cleaning.
You are given a time slot during which you must vacate the apartment.
We did not use the restaurant so I cannot comment however we did use the pool bar which was very well run.
All members of staff we interacted with were excellent.
They were polite, friendly, professional and very helpful.
To summarise we had an apartment which was clean, spacious, a good sized balcony with sunbeds, outdoor table and chairs and a sea view. It was perfectly suitable for a couple.
The resort was clean and well managed and I am sure we will return.

The resort is very remote and upon our arrival we realised that the courtesy bus wasn't running to town and we spent 200.00 on taxis as there are only three restaurants and no other facilities in the village, all of which are only accessible up a very steep hill.
The apartment was tired and worn. During our stay it wasn't cleaned ONCE. No change of bed linen, no clean towels, no removal of rubbish, I resorted to cleaning it myself. There were no restaurant or bar facilities at all other then a very limited pool bar which closed at 5pm. We only ever saw 4 staff who were stressed dealing with the number of complaints. The pool area was dirty, broken sunbeds and limited clean pool towels. It was truly awful, avoid at all costs.

The hotel is lovely with fantastic views of the sea and local hospital!
The pool was inviting a tad cold but that’s to be expected this time of year. We had a 3 bedroom apartment with 2 bathrooms big lounge and 6 sunbeds. The apartment needs some updating but the beds were very comfortable. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. We didn’t eat in the restaurant only drinks which were a bit pricey
The rooms were not cleaned unless you asked them to be neither were the towels changed again unless you asked. We didn’t bother in the end and picked up new towels from reception. There are pool towels if you want them.
If you want a takeaway reception will give you a menu which was very good
There is a small supermarket up the hill for basics and if you are happy to walk 10mins up a hill the treehouse restaurant is a must.
The biggest downfall is the location you can not walk into town due to it being on a main road. The accommodation is very close to the main road so always woken up by motorbikes and cars from 5am. Taxis are easy to get hold of through reception or you can try getting a bus either the 418 or 482 but the times are hit and miss.
Overall if you want something out the way but very comfortable this is the place for you.

We just came back from a family holiday in the Regency and will be definitely returning again. We all love this hotel complex. The food for breakfast, lounge pool lunch and dinner was excellent. While all the staff were very friendly and professional throughout the hotel we wanted to mention a special thanks to Rodriguez and Gonzalo ..these two guys were amazing great service and smiling faces all the time
Do opt for the breakfast package ,its great value. The buffet has everything hot, cold, great selection of fruits, cheeses, meats breads and beverages.
The pool side apartments are well worth the extra cost, we will be back and if you book directly with the hotel they offer better rates than online.

Hi, there is a small on site shop and a small supermarket just up the hill, turn left. It is quite a steep walk up the hill. We just purchased milk, ham, bread, loo rolls, bottled water etc., as and when needed.
