We had a great holiday with our family + great room, huge bed (standard room) + the best kids pool we have ever seen + very friendly and helpful staff, Mariam from kids club, Ismail from Blu, Gaurav and Andrea from Al Khiran, concierge who organised an excellent trip to the souk, pool towel staff + very easy to arrange last minute transfer to and from airport Some amenities were not yet up and running: - kids club building was under maintenance (although Mariam ran all the events as best she could from other locations) - toilets near kids club under maintenance - Chinese restaurant What could be better - no ritz kidz amenities to request that we have been able to request at other ritz Carlton hotels (e g toilet seat inserts for the kids) - not too much variety of vegetarian food Thank you for a fantastic holiday in the sun

We’ve just returned from a 3 night stay at this hotel and yes the hotel is beautiful, the rooms are immaculate and the pools and view are breathtaking. But unfortunately on this stay it was less then we had expected. We had been recommended this hotel by a number of people and we were a tad disappointed! Nothing major, just the little things that really add up and bother you! As we relaxed by the pool on day one, we waited one hour and 50 minutes for food! It was busy at the hotel that day (Public holiday!) so we let it go and they didn’t charge us. But the kid wasn’t impressed at all! (Hangry!!) We requested an extra bed for our 5 year old at check in. At 8pm it finally arrived but was just left outside the room. Not something you’d expect for the money you pay for this hotel! Hubs managed to manoeuvre it inside without incident! We ordered firm pillows (that are on my preferences also!) but they took 24hrs to arrive and they still weren’t the best! Coffee pods took all day to arrive. Again something so small but annoying! Kids club had activities scheduled! But when I called for timings, no one knew what time or where! I was passed to 3 different people in one phone call. And the next day we found that information to be incorrect! Pizza making started 15 minutes late, it was outside which wasn’t ideal (flies!!) and they had no chef hats like in July! (Disgruntled kid again!) The whole thing was so unorganised and a little underwhelming! Thankfully cupcake making the next day was on time and looked as though people had put effort into organising it well! We have experienced better from Butlins in the UK! The fact that it was half term (so lots of extra small people around), it just would have been nice for things to have been a little more geared up for this! Italian buffet was good (no pizza though which is strange for Italian night!) but the Indian buffet was mediocre at best! Had to wait ten minutes for naan bread. Simosa were dry and tasteless. No onion bahji, poppadoms or dips! It was just missing something or everything! Who knows! Breakfast buffet is ok. But a lot could be improved on to bring it to the standard we’d expect from this hotel! Cheese/cold cuts selection is awful. Bread selection is limited. Fresh berries and smoked mackerel would have been great! However the staff in here are amazing! The service was the best at breakfast time! Nothing is too much trouble! Thankfully we looked forward to this meal and we came away satisfied! Fresh towels and bottles of water readily available by the pool would have been nice. But they were hard to come about. Which was a shame when compared to hotels nearby where people are constantly replenishing water supplies to your sun lounger. I could go on and on! And we were told that the hotel was short of staff. And I do feel for the staff there that are working extra hard, but it is so noticeable that certain areas of the hotel are struggling. We checked out, after waiting ten minutes at the reception desk to be served. He was so rushed to swipe my credit card, he didn’t ask me how my stay was! And thank goodness he didn’t, because I’m not sure he could have coped with my reply! We shall be back, maybe not right away though! Give them chance to improve staffing levels! The hotel is beautiful, and our child enjoyed the pirate ship pool. But we shan’t be racing back soon!

It's always a wonderful experience at Al Bustan Palace. We have been in all the outlets and it's always a great experience. Specially the people are soo amazing and knowledgeble. They are true hospitality professional. This time we ordered only 1 high tea only and shared and really it was amazing as always and yummy along with jasmine tea. Our sever Gaurav was cool and shared a story of jasmine tea with us while we were enjoying. Really we can't forget that experience. Really we were soo happy and enjoyed our tea with him. Five star to Gaurav and his hospitality. Can't wait to come back.

Inconsistent and discriminating. After a very nice dinner in the Beach Pavilion in this hotel, the restaurant manager recommended going to Al Maha Jazz bar for live piano. Well, upon arrival in the bar, my wife was told that her shoes weren’t good enough, and we were not welcome. I argued that we came right from the restaurant, but was told off that “the rules are different here. I can show it to you in writing”. Well, that’s a couple of lost customers there, and no recommendation to anyone else from us. On checking the homepage, the dresscode is the exact same for the two places, hence it simply came down to arrogance from the staff and unwillingness to even listen. Simply unacceptable behaviour, and ruining what was until then a great experience. Only reason this is not 1 star, is the food and service in the restaurant earlier that evening.
