We are located on Conch Key, in the middle of the Florida Keys, as we say…”in the middle of paradise.” Centrally located for the best snorkeling, diving, and sportfishing in the Keys. We also have boat rentals on site. The Bayview Inn is a perfect vacation in the Florida Keys for fishermen, families, birdwatchers, and sports enthusiasts. We have a boat ramp, we sell gasoline, we have plenty of protected dockage, and our convenience store sells frozen bait, fishing supplies. We have a pool and a private beach area.

Detailed Reviews
The entry off the highway is easy to navigate with a boat on a trailer. The ramp is easier to use at high tide, so check the tides. The motel is on the bayside, but it's close to the bridge, so there's access to the Atlantic. Bill and Janine were friendly and helpful. The property is outdated and needs renovation. The appliances are old. The kitchens don't have full utensils, plates, etc. so bring what you need to cook the fish you catch. There are propane grills by the pool. The tiki hut has a hole in the roof. We had a good time despite those things. Check the latest reviews so your expectations are set correctly.

My wife, me and two daughters stayed here and had a great time. Room was comfy and had everything we needed. AC was cold, beds were comfy, etc. They have a small store and food to order should you want it. We used jet skis, paddle boards and the pool. Had a great time. Bill is awesome and took great care of us. Him, Wanda and Eric have something great going in Conch! We will be back.

This was the perfect spot! We have an ocean view room and it was exactly what we needed. Two double beds, tv, bathroom, kitchen, refrigerator, and the best view of the water out our door. The pelicans are very entertaining. Especially when there are fisherman there throwing out the scraps. This place has the that cute old key west feel and we loved that! We even loved the small island vibe as it is a VERY small island, but conveniently close to Marathon which has everything you need. Would definitely stay here again!

The pictures on website, were nothing like the actual place, it was filthy, very out dated, false advertisement all around, no fishing unless you went to the bridge, no private beach of any kind. It said they had a cafe that served fresh food, and a store, in the pictures it looked fresh and clean, in real life it was dirty and nasty, I wouldn't have eaten anything out of it. We had reserved two nights, tried getting a refund, but they did let us out for one of the nights, I was pretty close to just letting them have the money, but they had already charged us $257.00 for the one night. We rented it under Conch Key Fishing Lodge, so not sure why it is under two names, so before renting, you may want to look under both names, I felt dirty the whole time we were there, didn't touch anything I didn't have to and laid on one spot on the bed, couldn't wait to get out of that nasty place.

Ok first, the pictures on the website are a lie, the room was the worst, mold in shower, floor was not in good shape, the bed well was not good. On the website it says even the little rooms were oceanview. Well not #9 because we looked out to the parking lot. The door was not very secure, you could see light coming in from the bottom and everytime someone went out of their room we could hear it and the noise was so loud it woke us up many times. Everything is way outdated. no closet space. A little air conditioner unit in the wall that did not keep it cool at all. . Microwave had old food stuck on it and rust spots on top. We only slept there and for what we paid for 3 nights I would of rather slept in our car. Shower was so gross and they didn't come clean it like hotels do. we did ask for more towels because you got 2 and that was it no wash clothes. There is no beach so just an FYI. just a small area with some sand and a couple chairs but its more of like a dock you cant just walk into water. lots of old rusted out water vessles all around. I am not kidding that the website is a complete lie. I went back on it to make sure I didn't miss anything and didn't want to give this review without making sure and yes, i didn't go into the other rooms to see how they were but hands down out room was so horrible like just a mirror sitting on the floor. cracked sink, coffee pot very old and rusted, There is no breakfast for you. They should take the money they charge and fix this place up. I can't get my money back so please do not waste your money. Stay in your car is better than here.

There’s not much good to say, other than it was a place to sleep, but not well. Upon arrival, we were shocked. This place looks NOTHING like the pictures on it’s website. The pool was tiny and not well kept. The grounds were cluttered with debris and junk. There is no area for sunning. The rooms are old and in great need of updating. Our room smelled bad, even though they had a candle burning upon our arrival to attempt to mask the smell. It took us a bit to figure out why the tile floor in our room was wet, but not too long. The (window) air conditioner drained water down inside the wall which came out under the baseboard onto the tile floor into our room. It was wet and puddling the entire time we were there. A definite slipping/safety hazard. There was no cafe serving fresh food and salads. If there was, I would’ve been afraid to eat from it.
We asked and tried to cancel our reservation, but they would not. We had reserved for two nights and one night’s deposit was taken upon reservation. They did agree to let us out of the second night, thank heavens. I will end by saying that if we could’ve gotten a refund, we would’ve found another place to stay. Since they would not refund our deposit, we stayed the one night and left. NEVER AGAIN!!

My review of the Bayview Inn and Marina is not meant to be a scathing negative review, but instead I would say that it is a cautionary tale. Firstly it is important to make clear some sources of misunderstanding that can occur when one is describing lodging in the middle and lower keys. Terms or phrases like “old keys charm” or “laid back atmosphere” have to be clearly defined and a mutual definition of such terms have to be discussed in specifics, as such terminology can mean different things to different people. That said, let it be known that I personally have been down to the keys many times and have stayed at some pretty funky places in my more youthful days. My expectations are probably a bit more demanding now that I am older. So the bar that I consider as a reasonable level of amenity is maybe higher that it used to be.
I have to also say up front that when I first contacted the Bayview on the phone, after looking at the website pictures and reading the description, I thought I had a pretty good idea of what to expect. The lady on the phone made it clear to me that this was an “old keys style place and not the Holiday Inn”. She told me that if “I was looking for the Holiday Inn, I should go to the Holiday Inn”. Well, she turned out to be true to her word – maybe a bit more so than I knew. I also think that as is usual to website pictures for the public, some photo shopping and “selective” views and angles can be misleading.
Our room was the “two bedroom apartment” on the upper story. It was accessed thru a rather dimly lit corridor up a set of concrete stairs and even the stairwell was somewhat odiferous but not something that I or my fishing buddy couldn’t tolerate. The door was locked by an in door knob lock that could probably have been overridden by a stout credit card. Upon entry, you are in the kitchen/1st bedroom which had a much worn carpet, a worn out futon, and a small wooden table with two chairs. The bed was entirely worn out, squeaked when you sat on it and offered no support. The kitchen cabinets were shot, but oh well. The linens were serviceable and seemed clean. The kitchen had an old but serviceable coffee maker and microwave. The fridge was clean and did a fine job. There was no dishwasher and no dish drainer for the sink, which made it rough to keep dishes clean. In the morning we did see one or two insects of the roach variety in the kitchen. Not uncommon in the Keys. Once again, we made due. The T.V. was a very small flat screen up in the corner and received basic cable only.
The bathroom was very old and in need of updating – it once had had a washer and dryer hook-up which had remnants of that still apparent. No drain plug or strainer for the sink, very poor water pressure in the shower, but generally it was clean enough to suffice.
The second bedroom consisted of a partial wall dividing it and the bathroom wall. The air conditioner was in the back wall of this room and it was extremely loud and emitted a very strange moldy odor. The sliding door to the little balcony could not be locked and so we had put a suitcase in the track to at least slow a thief down if they attempted to enter that way. Anyone with any athletic prowess could have scaled the balcony if they had wanted to. I might also mention that the main access door had no inside chain lock mechanism although it did have a night bolt. The bed in this bedroom was also completely worn out, but if you were tired, you could sleep there. Ample dresser and storage space.
The marina was very small, shared by local fisherman and crabbers. The cut to the water was a bit sketchy for the novice, as was the docking but I was able to make it in and out as I do have boating experience. The boats available for rental were very nice indeed. The “beach” was not a swimmers beach and if you tried to access the water there, you would have had to wade thru Sargasso weed and who knows what else. The pool was small but clean. Not really much space to hang out. The grill was dirty, old, and out of propane.
Bottom line is; if I had taken my wife there, she would have made me leave. My buddy and I had a good time in the keys, but we both agreed that we would not stay at the Bayview a second time. I want to also say that the staff was generally very nice and friendly. The place needs to turn some money back into the bedding and maybe update some of the other basics.

We took our family from the Uk to this motel, expecting a dream vacation. it was a nightmare vacation. the rooms were filthy dirty, bugs crawling on floors and walls. We were bitten to pieces by fleas. The toilet backed up and flooded the bathroom and rooms. The shower had a major leak which flooded the hallway carpet everytime it was used, resulting in a foul smell of dampness. The pillow had bloodstains on and were completely flat. The store was empty of goods with food items being sold out of date. the toilet incident was the final straw and we escaped the Bay View Inn to another accommodation. Despite our complaints to the owners who by the way at the time were British, they charged us for the full rate of 14 nights stay when we only stayed 4 nights. (Need I say more). The motel needed a complete renovation.

In need of a major overhaul. They expect you to bring them the soiled towels for replacement. For that money I expect them to make the room and change the linens. Less work for the 6 room motel, more inconvenience for the guests. Yuch.

We found Bay View Inn on the web. We spoke w/ the owner's wife, who had misrepresented the place and the boat. She told us that the place was nice and well kept and that the boat was new and had a GPS, Depth finder, and she thought a fish finder (but was not sure on that). She also told us that we had use of the boat for as long as our rental was. And she said we could take it to Cuba if we wished (we didn't of course)When we arrived at 6:15pm on May 15, the owner and wife were already gone. The keys were left in the door. The place was filthy. Not vacuumed and the rugs were extremely stained. (I have a video of the room). There was a very poorly constructed wall that separated our room from another room with 2inches of plaster over the wall and face plates. We weren't buying it so it didn't bother us that much, but certainly not like she had explained it to me. We had spent alot of time on the web weeks before looking for places and there were very few available then, so we knew it would be extremely difficult trying to find one while down there and we were only there for 3days. The next day we had use of the boat. Right from the beginning it was very difficult to start. Taking us almost an hour each time we stopped to try to start it up again. We decided to confront the owner with the problems we had been having. We asked him for towels as our room had not been cleaned and we were forced to use the same towels. In Florida wet things tend to mold up quickly, so they really smelled. We also asked him to fill up the boat as he had indicated it was low on gas and we could only use his gas (though his prices are more than others). He said, "I can't get your towels and i can't get your gas because I am leaving." Bang, right then he blew up and told us was disappointed in the condition we left the boat in. Mind you, it was a fishing boat and we had just arrived at the dock, so no time to clean it. We figured we would cool off a bit and jumped in the pool. Moments later he came by with a pool sign “closed” and demanded that we leave the pool immediately. At that point I informed him that he had no customer service and his place was in dire need of cleaning, so maybe his priority should not be in going home, but rather in cleaning the place and taking care of the customer.

Trip Advisor should pull the old reviews. These are new owners and they have the place nice and neat and clean. I consider myself to be very particular and I was pleased with Bayview Inn.
I realize your question is from a last year, however I just saw it. This place is disgusting, the owners seem nice at first, but trust me we couldn't have been more wrong. They are out in left field somewhere! DON'T STAY AT THERE, and tell anyone you know that is planning on going to the Keys to stay away from this place! I don't think I've ever seen a worst hotel, Inn, Resort and we travel all the time. I think they made up the good reviews themselves or had friends submit them because everyone we met during our stay said it was disgusting and the owners are rude!
