Whether you are just learning about Bordeaux wines or building your dream cellar, the Bordeaux Wine Experience is a memorable week. We tasted a large number of exceptional wines, and the included meals were themselves worth the trip. Hosts Ronald and Margaret have everything well organized, and the small group of guests become a family.

We returned for our second Bordeaux wine tour, and this time brought friends, who had as much fun as we did the first time! Ronald and Margaret are wonderful hosts, and the wine tasting is just amazing. Even though this was our second visit, I found I learned new things about the Bordeaux region and its wines.
The food on the trip was just amazing, all of the restaurants / wineries where we had lunch or dinner were just top notch. A highlight is the day where we go to the local farmer’s market and then have a cooking class back at the Château! Ronald doesn’t cook, but ensures we all have a full glass at all times!
We had a wonderful time, enjoyed the pool and the grounds (even though it was very hot - we really appreciated the air conditioning!). We will be keeping an eye out for an alumni tour!

Virgie and I returned for our second Bordeaux wine tour! as I mentioned the first time there really are no words to describe how great this experience is for both of us. We knew very little about Bordeaux and now we realize that you have to buy or drink older wiring to really appreciate the Bordeaux wine and its complexity. Ronald and Margaret are wonderful hosts, and the wine tasting is just amazing. Even though this was our second visit, I found I learned new things about the Bordeaux region and its wines.
We are now looking at coming back for the 3 time in 2024, and bringing my stepdaughter and her husband to join us so that they can also appreciate but Bordeaux has the offer as a aged wine.

Margaret and Ronald provide the most inviting and thoughtful experience beginning with a stay in their beguiling château that is superbly maintained, elegantly decorated, and a spectacular place to entertain. From there, every element of the trip is perfectly curated - highlighting the region's quality, heritage, and pedigree.
As an oenophile, I can't even begin to explain the caliber of wine we were so fortunate to consume. It was a remarkable, eye-opening, and educational experience I could have never attained on my own. I cannot more highly recommend the Bordeaux Wine Experience.

This is a must for wine lovers. The accommodations at Chateau Coulon Laurensac are lovely. The hosts, Margaret and Ronald Rens, are charming, and extremely knowledgeable about the wines and food of Bordeaux. The small group approach (13 guests max) allows relaxed tours and tastings at major Bordeaux chateaux. Meals are consistently outstanding yet also relaxed, whether at Chateau Coulon Laurensac, other chateaux, or restaurants. A truly memorable experience!

I read many of the reviews prior to our Harvest Tour this fall and thought if only half of what they mentioned was true, it would be a great trip. Well it’s ALL true and it was a REMARKABLE trip.
What makes this possible are your hosts, Margaret and Ronald. They are both genuine and kind, and share a passion for food and wine that they generously share with their guests. Each day offered a unique experience but always included excellent food and wine. Of course, their 18th century chateau played its own part in creating such a wonderful stay.
And somehow, someway, our hosts attract the best guests. As others have mentioned, by the end of the trip our small group felt like a family and the experience felt almost magical.
So…If you have the opportunity to be part of one of the future tours, I’d highly recommend you do. Personally I’m looking forward to my group’s reunion.
PS Did I mention you get to drink some unbelievable vintages of first growth Bordeaux wines?

Ronald and Margaret Rens run an impeccably well organized and delightful Bordeaux wine tasting experience. From the moment we arrived we were greeted by our gracious hosts and shown to our lovely room. The buildings have been renovated with modern touches in this 300 year old chateau and have modern amenities. Ronald has encyclopedic knowledge of Bordeaux wines and, as promised, we tasted all five premier first growth wines plus Chateau d’Yquiem. Breakfast every day was a traditional French breakfast and we went by bus every day to several wineries per day. Lunches were delicious at various wineries and one day we went to a nearby farmer’s market and all together prepared a fabulous lunch following Margaret’s delicious recipes. Dinners were also very special including the closing dinner at the Chateau which was one of the many highlights of the trip. We felt welcome at all times and the tour guides who joined us on the daily bus trips were knowledgeable and delightful. All around most memorable experience for Bordeaux wine lovers or anyone serious about wine and tasting. There were plenty of opportunities to purchase wines for shipment at various Chateau and wine shops. We went with high expectations and Ronald and Margaret managed to exceed them! Recommend most highly!

This is an outstanding venue for a week around the Bordeaux area. The gite (Paulliac) was lovely and cool in hot weather, had all the facilities you would expect. Very comfortable bed and clean, well appointed bathroom. The outside seating area was so peaceful and a joy to have your breakfast or later as the sun goeas down. The pool is fantastic, and you know it is never going to be crowded.
Having said all this, you are only a 10 minute drive to the centre of Bordeaux, although you would never know it. Yes, you would really need transport to fully appreciate the surrounding area - there is so much to see and do. There are also good restaurants in easy reach by car, and good shops and supermarkets in very easy reach.
Margaret and Ronald are very friendly and rightly proud of their set up. We really hope that it won't be long before they are able to restart the wine experiences.

We had been told by others that this was the ultimate wine and food experince for Bordeaux and we were not disappointed! Ronald and Margret were excellent, caring and experienced hosts and we learned so much about the area, the wines and the people of Bordeaux. Truly a unique, charming and fun trip that we will be talking about for years to come.

I am not one to do reviews, but we must review our experience with the Bordeaux harvest tour. We have already been to Bordeaux twice and taken their one-week experience tour, and this is our third time. It was such a great experience that we brought my daughter and her husband with us this time to enjoy it with us. They got to better understand Bordeaux wines. If you can afford the time, this is a must for anyone who enjoys drinking wine. We have even signed up to do this to her again next September 2025.
