A handsome house on the bassin but no real sea views, because most of the day it is mud. Ground floor rooms have very low ceilings. Top floor 'sea view' room is very nice but is accessed by multiple flights of stairs - bathroom on different floor from the bedroom. Forest view room unattractively furnished, cheap beds and old bathroom - chipped tiles in shower. Good restaurants close by. Staff very friendly. Good breakfast.
Stayed here for three nights for a business seminar. The villa is superbly located and you feel right at home immediately. Service was impeccable. I did not have a big room and would probably pay attention to selecting the right room next time. Food and drinks were good and our meeting room cosy and effective.
Must be one of the best places to stay, has every thing and is top class.beach just over the fence, lovely old village to visit, and friendly people, catch a train to Paris, plus many cities to visit on the fast train.
That's it really. A truly unusual space with great food and friendly, attentive, flexible and unobtrusive staff. We arrived very early, before lunch and were fed magnificent cheese and charcuterie platters whilst our room was expedited.
Just come back from a 4 day stay with friends at this villa and had an absolutely wonderful time! We were very lucky with the weather as I did not expect March to be so warm. We had lovely sunshine as if it were the summer, but not the tourists! The staff there are very welcoming and could anticipate the smallest details to make everything perfect. Eg. wet towels when we came back from a trip, putting white wine we left lying out back in the fridge..etc. The rooms are all unique and magnificent in their own right. The common area was very homely and we never felt we were in a hotel, it was like living in someone's (a very rich someone) home. The open kitchen is welcoming and there are always staff around to fix you something to eat. We wanted to eat in and therefore had home cooked food every night and 2 different chefs were arranged for variety. Steak Tartare, Seafood platter, grilled fish, pigeon and decadent desserts....sorry, must stop here before I drool again. We hired a car at the airport and drove to Bordeaux, St. Emilion and the Bassin on 3 of the days we were there. All an easy commute. On the last day we hired a boat and went around the Bassin and ran down the sand dunes like teenagers. Totally fun. One thing is you must get back before sunset, in our case around 7pm (clocks just put forward last weekend) to see the magnificent sunset. We saw it all 4 days we were there and were completely mesmerised each day. Will definitely go back again, next time taking family that I wish to spoil.…
We stayed two nights in Villa Tosca and enjoyed every minute of it. It is a romantic location, suitable for families as well, beautifully decorated and most importantly it is run by very kind, nice people. Our daughters enjoyed the pool and the garden, the beach in front of the house and the area. Thanks a million...
Romantic getaway, beautiful hidden gem, each detail has been thought through carefully. Grounds are really amazing. What a treat... Service was impeccable and what an amazing experience. You just don't want to leave this place. Must be also amazing in winter time
The reception was very special and the personnel even prepared us a dinner even though we had not asked for it in advance. They explained us the history of the place in many occations and made us feel very welcome and special. No matter La Tosca seemed to be really a wonderful high class hotel, they did not have Sauterne to serve us with fois gras. But again, we did not inform about it beforehand. That must be an excellent place for wedding and wedding reception as well as all festivities that would need a special, unique and peaceful place.
Only paid for one night (Wedding couple paid for the other nights) so we were happy to pay the price being asked for the one night. Rooms, staff, food, location, views and services all 100% - made my kids feel relaxed and comfortable. Only advice I would offer is to place some carpet on the wooden stairs, as foot steps echoes throughout the house...plus slippers for the kids when walking up and down as well as adults.
This was an delightful experience. Kudos to Aurelian and his professional and dedicated team. Really can't rate this one highly enough. Gloriously situated, run with a great attention to detail, and one of the best stays we've had anywhere.
