I was fortunate to have eaten at the Abaco Inn within a day or two of them reopening after hurricane Dorian. The staff was clearly eager to be back at work and the food was excellent! Crews were crawling all over the property getting everything back in order and I have no doubt things will be back to normal soon. If you’re considering a visit in the near future don’t hesitate! The Bahamas need the tourism to return and sense of normalcy. If you find yourself there for breakfast don’t miss the eggs Benedict with lobster and top it off with the best Bloody Mary you’ve ever tasted!
This Inn is a wonderful stay. Everyone was so pleasant. We had a wonderful meal at the restaurant. Days at the beach. Everything you need is right there. The walk up kept me in shape:) Will definitely be back
As I write this we are still sitting on the little patio of our bungalow overlooking the Atlantic waves on one side and the calm waters of the bay on the other side. We are here for friends' wedding, which took place yesterday right on the sand down the road a bit. Then everyone came back to the Abaco Inn for reception and dinner. We are in the restaurant business and know how tricky it can be to get food out to large groups and keep the quality high. The food here last night was amazing. Skirt Steak cooked to medium-rare perfection and served hot. Delicious moist fish. Excellent coconut rice. The staff are friendly, relaxed and engaged while being totally professional. The bar offers everything you'd want at a tropical watering hole - our bartender Maiyo made us one of his secret special "Abaco Smile" cocktails and let me tell you it packed some punch while tasting like nectar. If you're into hot sauce like we are, be sure to get a bottle of "Fruity Fredie's" goat pepper sauce in the little shop; it packs amazing taste and heat, and a number of friends in the wedding party were asking to try some. The wifi was free, always-on, and fast throughout the resort. Candice and Tom, the proprietors are always here making sure things run smoothly and always ready with helpful tips and arranged van trips to town or wherever else you need to go on Elbow Cay. Overall we were amazed and impressed with this fantastic place. Rustic beach luxury at its best.…
This place is lovely, great views of the ocean on one side and the sea of Abaco on the other. Sheltered lagoon makes it very accessible for boats. Must say this is on the much higher scale then most you will find on the key. The service was, very nice but prices can get away from you guys if you’re not paying attention. We asked for 2 espressos, received about 2 ounces or less of coffee. The price was $28! I think it was that coffee they extract from the waste matter of monkeys. Probably a good idea to rent a golf cart so that you can into town. Many places are happy to pick you up if you want to try other places for dinner.
I just want to say that Tom, the manager of the Abaco Inn and his staff were wonderful this past weekend at a friend of mine's daughters wedding. All weekend long and especially during the reception the Abaco Inn staff did a great job. I would highly recommend the Abaco Inn for a wedding event.
