Beautiful setting but bed were very uncomfortable. I went to libassa in 2021 for a night which originally should have been two nights but praise God we only booked for a night because the room was hot, no A/C and the fan was not doing much as we had a slide door and no window. We didn’t want to open the door for fear of mosquitoes because we had our child with us and his bed didn’t have net so we turn the fan to his bed because there was nowhere to plug the fan except at the bed head which will not turn to us and him. My fiancé couldn’t sleep because of poor ventilation . I had to move my son to our bed and we all slept across the bed because it was a queen bed, and turn the fan to us before we all got a little sleep before the morning. My fiancé was the first up that morning. I love the place and the food was good as well. Hope they can change the bed to more comfortable bed and improve the ventilation for rooms with no windows. A A/C plus a comfy bed would have been nice for $275:00 US a night, that’s a 5 star's hotel.…
My wife and I spent our 17th wedding anniversary at Libassa during the July 4th weekend and it was wonderful. My wife's first visit to Liberia and it was an amazing experience for her The staff was great and very helpful. The meal was delicious. I think due to the pandemic it seemed like we had the entire property to ourselves and we loved the special attention that we got. Great place and atmosphere so hoping to take the entire family next time. Kudos to Lisa and her staff!
We have the most fabulous stay at Limbassa. The rainforest setting is beautiful, the staff are friendly and accommodating, and the amenities are great. If our kids weren't floating on the lazy river or sliding down the water slides, they were running around the huge children's playground, exploring the wildlife sanctuary, building sandcastles at the beach or snorkeling and canoeing in the lagoon. Our family room had two big beds and an additional single, plus a relaxing porch so we had plenty of room to stretch out. We drove all the way from Sierra Leone just to stay here and we will do it again. It's that awesome. Highly recommended.
A friend and I spent the weekend here and it was very relaxing. Most of the staff were very friendly, especially Nakie, and went out of their way to show us around and help us. The beach and pools are beautiful and our room was comfortable. We would recommend this place to anyone looking for somewhere outside of the city in Liberia.
Nice and quiet resort with lodges in the forest. Really good place to chill out. Gives you a bit of jungle feeling. Easy access to the sea and also a nice calm lagoon if you think the waves are big. More wildelife than hotel. The wildlife sanctuary next door should definitly be visited.
This is probably the best place you can stay in Liberia for a real get-away and some rest and relaxation. Rooms are clean and well designed with natural elements of the environment. All staff is friendly and helpful - there is always somebody near by if you need assistance. The pools and lounge area are immaculate featuring a really fun lazy river and water slides. The beach is also great, however take care of you try to swim unless you are used to swimming in large waves and strong current. Don’t skip the Libassa Wildlife Center! There were about 90 animals total, all indigenous to Liberia being rehabbed here. It was wonderful to see a place working to stop the poaching of endangered animals for bush meat. The staff working at this center is comprised of locals and international volunteers. All were very informative and knowledgeable giving a very thorough guided tour. Lisa, the owner came to chat with us during our stay. She is lovely, and has a great vision for creating such a wonderful experience. I can’t say enough good things about this place.…
I arrived in the lodge late afternoon. After a visit of the facilities,I had the opportunity to have a drink on the terrace, in front of the sea. I saw one of the most beautiful sunset in Africa. The place is very clean (including the beach), employees at the bar and restaurant very efficient. Swimming pool is impressive, with a special lightning at night Room was very nice, and perfectly clean. It's a place to visit, on the road between Monrovia and the airport. if you are sensitive to respect for the environment, and be close to nature, this place is for you
Visited the place few times daily and overnight.Quality of food increased during the last two years. However if you stay overnight there are some small disappointments: if you share with a friend a room you need to share the (small frenchsize) bed. No twin beds possible. You need to.pay 25 USD more to receive a small extramatress and sleep in the kid place with a small mosquito net on your nose all night .This is quite ridiculous also considered the rooms are not cheap. Food is nice but incredible salty..not really healthy and maybe not all like everything so salty. If you want to drink water you need to buy it and by plastic bottle. The place is ECO lodge so some dispenser and a refill bottle would be better.A refill could be charge cheap, less than bottle.A courtesy water in the rooms would be basic hospitality. A deck with some chairs for overnight guest could be an idea..or on a Sunday you need to grab a seat for the day due to high affluence of day visitors.. low security on all visitors.. many were jumping in/out from the beach with no control. On Sunday the bathrooms had no soaps from early morning and all day...we have been told it would be refill only Monday. But many tourists were that day..…
A rustic verdant escape for busy Monrovians looking to hang up their smartphones and pack away their laptops for a weekend of total peace and tranquility awaited me in Marshall. Buried in the lowland coastal forest, everything from the untamed grassland, complete with chirping birds, to the cottages that make up the rooms are underpinned by a theme of nature. After back to back meetings and being nauseated from inhaling the fumes of motorcycles and tricycles, I fled to insulate myself from the clamor of bustling Monrovia to soak up some fresh seabreeze at Libassa Ecolodge, 30 miles away to the southwest. Libassa’s delicious menu, a well-stocked bar, and ethnic Bassa décor are a draw. But it’s the natural beauty of the nearby lagoon, activities such as swimming, visiting rescued wild animals, plus the permission to just sit back and enjoy the serenity of the ocean, that makes Libassa special. The staff’s ‘nothing is too much hassle’ attitude makes your stay even more chilled. Whether it’s asking for a tour of the wildlife sanctuary (the only one in the country) or adding an extra kick to your drink, nothing is a problem. I have never been so well looked after in Liberia.…
We had a wonderful visit this weekend to Libassa! It was a unique and fantastic experience. The cottages were really comfortable and quaint. I was so surprised when steaming hot water came out of the shower this morning, along with great water pressure! The pool and beach areas are beautiful and lush and well maintained. The staff were all incredibly friendly and smiley and clearly much more trained then other staff I have encountered in Liberia. I was also very impressed by the wildlife sanctuary and was thrilled to see the pangolins! The owner and staff are clearly very committed to the cause and not just in it to make a dollar. The only thing that was not up to my expectations was the food. I found it overpriced and not really up to the mark for what we were paying. Breakfast was definitely the best of the meals. I would highly recommend this place. It's a wonderful retreat out of Monrovia for the weekend! …
