We stayed at Schooners hotel for 6 nights bed and breakfast. The evening meals were so good - imaginative and tasty - that we only ate out for one evening. The room was clean and fresh looking with great view over the view. Bed very comfortable.
We had booked the Schooner Hotel for 4 days on St Mary’s island. Our room was on second floor No. 11, with a great view overlooking the harbour and very clean. We had half board, the breakfasts were great but the evening meals were top notch. The meals would match any restaurant on the islands. On the landings were spare supplies to take and top up your requirements, from toilet rolls to tea bags etc. Finally but not least, the staff were all so friendly and made you feel so welcome. We travel a lot but this hotel and staff, fall into our top three, well done Schooner Hotel!
Can't praise Schooners enough. We had a room overlooking the beach and harbour - wow what a view! Our room was bright and airy and immaculately clean as was my brother and sister-in-law's who were next door. There is a large attic lounge where we played cards and sat with a drink in the evening, again with stunning views. We only had one meal in the hotel and booked to eat out the other nights. The restaurants get very busy and booked up in advance so it's a good idea to book before you arrive, but the food was so delicious and beautifully presented at the hotel that we could have stayed in to eat a lot more. Likewise, breakfast was scrummy and a great way to start the day. Thanks to all the staff who were so friendly and helpful in every way.
Lovely hotel, friendly and helpful staff. We had the family room on the top floor, which has a view across Hughtown to Pothcressa Beach to the south. Comfortably slept the four of us in single beds. Communal lounge on the opposite side of the landing has wonderful views of the bay. Excellent breakfast too 👌
This was our first time staying at Schooners and it was brilliant! The rooms that we had overlooked the harbour which was lovely. The rooms were well appointed and spotlessly clean. There was an endless supply of tea, coffee and milk. The hotel has a small bar area (Open 6-9pm, closed Sundays) but it also has a lounge area on the top floor which includes comfy chairs and a very well stocked libary. As it is on the 4th floor it offers amazing views over the harbour and town. The staff were extremely friendy, polite and full of knowledge about the local area. The breakfasts were extremely good, a large selection of cereals, fruit and full english all available. An evening meal can be prebooked in the morning which was extremely reasonable (15 GBP for 3 courses - Closed Sunday) - it was the best food that we ate during our stay! I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the islands.…
