Absolutely fabulous, welcoming, beautiful character building, food was excellent with lots of variety and nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors. We visit Whitsand Bay Hotel for a week every August and have done so for the last 8 years. We were fortunate on our first evening to have a guitarist (not a regular event) but it was fun... More

Got there on a very rainy Saturday for a two night stay, the food in the restaurant was good, one thing I would say you need to get the wine menu out to the tables faster we waited almost five minutes, after a good nights sleep we went to the pool in the morning which was lovely and warm,we will... The hotel is in a stunning location - that's why we booked. We knew this was an old fashioned style hotel which is geared toward golfers (we're not into golf). But we loved the old character of building (which must take a lot of work to keep maintained) which was so much more interesting than the sterile decor of many... More

We can never rate this hotel highly enough. For abeach or golf break its perfect. The fabulous links course tests any golfer especially as it's a cliff top course and the weather changes daily. We've just had another week's holiday with our family and grandchildren. We were very lucky wth the weather so managed to spend a couple of days... More

We stayed here about a month ago for our friends 40th birthday. When we arrived the views were breathtaking and we thought we were going to have a great weekend however this was quickly squashed by being greeted by the rudest receptionist I've ever met, once given our room keys both myself and my friends had to find our way... We are staying in self catering locally but ate in the hotel restaurant on several occasions. Good food, good portions and reasonably priced. Kids supremely well catered for and the location is breathtaking. Not haute cuisine but good staples very well cooked and presented. Service in the bar is brilliant too!!!

Arrived late in the evening without reservation. Was shown immediately to restaurant. Beautiful room, beautiful view. A wonderful old building wit a grand aspect. Friendly and helpful staff with a good selection of food prepared fresh in their kitchen. Excellent food with really good prices. Thoroughly recommended. .

Hotel is disappointing - have experienced far superior quality for a similar price elsewhere. The positives are the views. Staff seem to be doing their best but impossible to overcome what seems a pretty tired regime - breakfast goes to 9.30am latest and last orders for dinner are at 8pm... Food is ok - the steak was good and breakfasts... More

I have been to this Hotel and restaurant on a few occasions over the years for lunch with friends and nothing really changes. The building is large and old and must need constant attention and maintenance particularly as it is situated on a cliff top overlooking the sea, fully exposed to the elements. To some extent you step back in... More
