I want to give my honest optinion of this hotel warts & all, so here goes! This is a lovely looking hotel & the views are to die for, we enjoyed our stay here very much but this hotel is in desperate need of an upgrade, the carpets are threadbare & a little smelly, the decor is drab & dreary... Celebration of a 50th Birthday. Lovely Hotel the surroundings were very relaxing looking out over the sea. The food was excellent piping hot nothing was too much trouble for the staff who were very friendly and helpful. Unfortunately there does not appear to be parking facilities for Disabled Vehicles the overflow car park was up a dirt road and getting... More

One night stop while walking the coast path. Good friendly welcome from efficient receptionist. Nice clean room, comfortable bed, really good shower. Good selection of beers in the bar. Evening meal and breakfast were excellent, as was the Malbec wine (sold out of Rioja sadly). Only blemish was that the potatoes were a bit over cooked. Tried to get feedback... More

This is a lovely hotel run professionally by a friendly, welcoming family and it feels like you are staying in a stately home. It is tasteful, relaxing and comfortable. The newly decorated dining room is charming and 'in-keeping'. The location is stunning with coastal views from the lounge, dining room and bedrooms. The garden is well tended and set in... More

Situated on a hill overlooking the sea, this grand hotel offers the comforts of a bygone era. The service is unobtrusive yet attentive, friendly and helpful. We had a great meal in the dining room with has amazing views. The menu is varied with plenty of traditional fare to choose from. The ribeye steak was juicy and extremely tender. All... More

Recommended by a friend, we were delighted with the gorgeous sea views, lovely service and excellent food . Prices were very competative with a choice of two or three courses. Tea or coffee was included (other establishments take note) and served in the comfy lounge. Small but beautifully manicured gardens with stunning views. Highly recommended!

We stopped here overnight after walking along the 12.5 miles of the SWCP from Polperro to Portwrinkle. It is an interesting hotel with lots of character, aging so a little worn in places. We were made welcome; the room was very spacious and comfortable; and the food was very good, both at dinner and breakfast. Recommended to fellow walkers.

We stayed at the Whitsand Bay Hotel for a week in December 2015 with our 7 month old twins. The staff were very friendly and helpful and even set out our high chairs each morning ready for the twins to sit for breakfast! The hotel is situated in a beautiful spot overlooking the beach which makes a perfect view when... More
