Needing to walk the first southerly part of the south west coastal path in Cornwall, we chose this location as a base to walk from the Cremyll ferry to Looe. The hotel is in a perfect position but a little forbearing in its gothic architecture. Sharing it with many golfers, who played the adjoining golf course in the daytime, it... More

We were visiting with friends and the lunch menu was great value and food excellent. The view from the window is stunning and service was good as well. We all went for the 3 course lunch which was £14.99 including tea/coffee to be taken in the lounge but the day was so nice that we sat outside in the gardens... More

Was really looking forward to staying at this Hotel! Unfortunately it didn't tick our boxes. We had difficulty in finding a parking space and eventually my husband parked it at the bottom of the drive. I agree with other comments that the front of house staff are not friendly. Placed in our room was a special offer leaflet for the... More

I haven't written a review on trip advisor for a long time but I just had such a fabulous lunch with friends today that it had to be done! We went for the special lunch at £12 for 2 courses or £14.50 for 3 courses including tea or coffee and found it to be amazing value. There was plenty of... More

Where do I start??!!! Beautiful hotel with stunning views across the sea,in an elevated location so pretty much all round views. We ordered a cream tea for 2 and were really impressed with what arrived. 1 large plain scone each,1 large fruit scone each, both light and still warm,a massive pot of cream and of jam and a pot of tea... Absolutely fabulous, welcoming, beautiful character building, food was excellent with lots of variety and nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors. We visit Whitsand Bay Hotel for a week every August and have done so for the last 8 years. We were fortunate on our first evening to have a guitarist (not a regular event) but it was fun... More

was trying to seek a get away from all the havoc of London so we decided to visit Cornwall for a long weekend - we chose the south coast as recommended by friends so we came across this hotel on the Internet. Oh how we wish we didn't... It looked lovely, but instead a complete shambles. Old dirty interior with... More

Got there on a very rainy Saturday for a two night stay, the food in the restaurant was good, one thing I would say you need to get the wine menu out to the tables faster we waited almost five minutes, after a good nights sleep we went to the pool in the morning which was lovely and warm,we will... The hotel is in a stunning location - that's why we booked. We knew this was an old fashioned style hotel which is geared toward golfers (we're not into golf). But we loved the old character of building (which must take a lot of work to keep maintained) which was so much more interesting than the sterile decor of many... More
