Not great I won't be staying again, stayed in a room next to the car park which was handy but the overall quality of the room was poor. I could have written my name in the dust on the cover of the hotel directory which was on the bedside cabinet. Cobwebs and dust everywhere, the mats beside the bed were... More

We wanted a light lunch so I ordered soup and hubby ordered a main and we both ordered drinks. After the order had been taken I was advised that there was a minimum charge per person so would I like to order dessert??? I really do not have a big appetite so soup and bread would be more than enough... More

Have stayed at almost all accommodation in the area. This hotel or probably more accurately motel, whilst a little dated, is extremely clean and accommodating. Only offers continental breakfast. Good value for area.

The highlight of the stay was the tasty breakfast. Faultless presentation and an attentive member of staff. We had time to chat to our friends from Spokane, USA and we looked ahead to visiting other areas of England.

stayed here for one night when visiting relatives the room was basic but clean all rooms appear to be on ground level and considering a main road nearby was very quiet - we ate in the restaurant and the food and service was excellent very very busy as the run up to christmas would stay there again

Stayed for just the one night,as was attending a family wedding a short distance away, and wasn't traveling back home to Scotland until the following day. It is not your traditional "x amount of rooms per floor" hotel. Indeed the rooms I and my party stayed in, were in the style of a row of terraced houses at the rear of... More

We don't live far from the restaurant so have eaten there several times. The food is always superb, the prices are more or less the same at The Bell, which is a pub directly opposite, but the food here is far superior. We've been here twice recently and I have to say the service has been questionable, the first time... More

We stayed here on a Saturday night & arrived on Saturday afternoon & thought the place was closed! Checked in & went to our room, which we thought was a disused outbuilding. The door was very old & rotten. Upon going inside the room decor was ok, but very dark & dingy. The bathroom looked brand new & was lovely... More

Eight if us had lunch today, one of our party only had a portion of garlic bread. Lovely setting, very cosy & comfortable. We found it expensive, some of us had the set meal for £14.95 which was very tasty, but cheese & biscuits & desserts expensive. Rolls were on the table, but the butter did not arrive until after... As always, the food here is excellent - the 'Monkey Gland Steak' is to die for - and, despite being packed to the rafters when we visited on a Wednesday evening, the two people serving did a great job. The rooms are in an outside block (like a motel) and were small and rather basic. There was only a small... More
