Absolutely fabulous house, spacious dinning room and large lounge also the courtyard ideal for our large family birthday party(combining all the birthday we missed this year through lock down) Each individual apartment is well furnished and supplied with everything you need we had all 9 apartments, you can do your own drinks and snack but come together for breakfast and dinner. We used a cater for Saturday evening meal.My grandson went finishing in the Mill pond and court a trout. We had such a fun time highly recommend this is best self catering place I have every rented and I am over 70 years. We were so lucky to have managed to get this in before the new group of 6 came in. This is a great place to celebrate when this awful Covid has passed

A very clever concept perhaps based on a ski chalet style accommodation. Each apartment has a comfortable bedroom,en-suite lounge and kitchenette.Tv’s in bedroom and lounge which includes amazon and Netflix. All rooms have key code locks . Nestled in a valley approximately 1mile from Chipping Wolfen Mill offers good and safe parking, a enclosed courtyard plus gardens and access to areas around the Mill Pond .Take your swimmers for the hot tub, even though we had a grim week of weather a glass of champagne and a soak made up for it. All the apartments are linked within the Mill so The large communal dining area on the ground floor(with communal kitchen)allows for great mealtimes from dawn till dusk and plenty of opportunity to be the chef, help laying the table or washing up. Set over 3 floors all with a communal staircase the top floor has a huge comfortable lounge area with 4 settees and additional seating..Doors open onto the decking and Mill Pool with beautiful tranquil views. A lot of walking on offer with walks ranging from easy to challenging.3 dog friendly apartments.Take your bikes but be prepared for Some hills. Eating out The Inn at Whitewell is highly recommend ,but book before you go.The local shops in Chipping offer basic provisions and the farm shop owned by a lovely lady Sharon who will deliver fresh bread, meat etc to the Mill on request. Wolfen Mill is a great venue for any type of gathering, family,friends,etc..it is a place where you can spend quality time and at the same time have your own space.

Wolfen mill is set in a lovely part of the English countryside, surrounded by hills, streams, wood blocks and of course animals. This is a Dog friendly enviroment and something you pay a small charge for. Not to far from the small village of chipping which has everything from a few pubs to local shops and a lovely farm shop. There is also a great day out at bowland wild boar park. The Mill itself is lovely and well kept the grounds are amazing, faultless in fact. We stayed in the tweedy room again spotless and faultless, Tweedy is one of the smaller rooms as the rest was sold out but it served a purpose. All rooms have Netflix & Amazon aswell as normal TV. Free WIFI is availble as there is minimul phone service there which i found perfect as it was a break from work and stress at home. The downsides to wolfen mill is you can only check in at 1600hrs and must check out at 1030hrs to me this feels as if you have lost a day of your holiday. They have a hottub but it wasnt available to use for the 3 days we was there guessing this was down to covid 19 but again this was an attraction to booking wolfen mill and not to be told it wasnt available was a slap in the face. The hot tub did get filled up the morning we was leaving again which rubbed salt into the wounds so to say. Regardless of the downsides we will be a returning guest for many years to come.

An attractive, cleverly adapted set of buildings a short drive outside Chipping. Inevitably, this being very rural Lancashire, that drive is not for the faint hearted, although it probably improves with better knowledge of the roads. One particular dip and climb in the road caused some anxiety each time we approached it, even though we’re accustomed to narrow Devon roads! Chipping itself is attractive although being extended with new housing, like so much of the area. This causes some traffic issues at the current time. We found our rooms pleasant enough, although perhaps not quite as luxurious as the photographs had suggested. We had all the facilities needed in the built-in kitchen area to eat in and eat well during a week here, although there’s also an abundance of good places to visit around the area if you want to eat out. In fact, you should do so - this is a great area for both foodies and those who just enjoy eating. Equipment and crockery is very much of the solid, gite type, but was good enough for a week away. TV and dvd were good, with a surprisingly good signal. Beds were hard for our tastes. Heating was good, hot water/showers okay, but less good pre 7am for early starters like us. If we had wanted there is a shared hot tub and barbecue and attractive communal areas; the lake/pond is very attractive and worth seeking out. One worry here is the isolation; with poor phone signals (Vodafone not much good, but obtainable outside) and no caretaker on site we felt we would be vulnerable if there was a problem. However, the owners are very responsive to calls and e-mails and when we had a problem they responded very quickly. They came across as friendly and helpful, although we didn’t actually meet them. All in all, we felt this was probably designed for those who come here to go walking or cycling, as I suspect most guests do. It’s also very good for those who enjoy company, although you can also be private as we were during our week. Thereason for three stars rather than four is partly the price; admittedly we booked a bigger apartment than we needed but comparable accommodation in Lancashire can be found at slightly less of a premium. Also that sense of being slightly cut-off...
